Lee commanded 7 Sherman tanks. Though three got stuck at the first bridge. Two placed at the second bridge. The third was placed at the final bridge. Lee’s own tank was the only brought to the castle. Earlier Lee was contacted by the Major and a Czech cook and they were later joined by an SS officer. The SS troops were infantry with a 20 mm and an 88.

From what I know about this there was a single American tank stationed at the gate. All the rest were infantry.
There's a Sydney Pollack movie about the battle of castle Itter. "Castle Keep" (1969) with Burt Lancaster and Peter Falk (just having Columbo in it is enough reason to watch).
A few years ago Canal Digital made an announcement that they were making a reboot, but it seems to be stuck in development hell..
Was nice to See P-40 in the mix....my father flew them with AVG. Flying Tigers. Not to popular in the sims I see, toooo bad. Such a great airplane and aa great story with them.
