This is a video I did about the spark bong I made to help reduce sparks and dust in my shop when grinding. The bong is portable, and can be moved from grinder to grinder.
How come you put the funnel at the edge of the spark/dust collection? I see that about 80%-90% is collected and not 100%. Looks like by pulling the funnel back about a couple inches it would catch about 100% of the dust. Just wondering if it has to do with functionality, spacing or other reasons?? Great idea and very economical to make! Im looking to add a dust collector to my buffer since I do A LOT of grinding and buffing of kydex with my kydex sheath business. Also a collector for my 4x36 sander which I use at horizontal setting. My sander is the messiest as far as small particles go and my buffer is an air quality problem with the fine floating dust. Any tips ? And also why the positioning of the funnel? Great video!
Thanks for making this video! I am thinking about building one of these.
Thank you for sharing. Good concept
Thank you, this is very useful information.
Smart!

The hole of the funnel is inline with the belt with the offset of the funnel going under the belt to help catch swarf that doesn't fall straight down.
