- Hello, I'm Vanissia, welcome to this special episode of The Woolly Worker Knitting Podcast where I round up 10 spring t-shirt patterns to knit this year. I keep a very detailed description box, but if you have any questions, drop me a message :)
I ran into a lot of issues editing this video, which is why it is a bit late, and you might notice a lag between the video/audio. I did my best to minimise it but I apologise if it bothers you! I am just relieved I was able to publish this video at all :p

I appreciate how much research you do. Great discussion and information.
Thank you so much, that's very kind!
You will never regret knitting the Friday tee! It's so airy and light and wonderful to wear. I DO recommend using the Sunday yarn, it feels perfectly kozy and summery (I live i Norway). I have knit two, one with long and one with short sleeves. Loving both of them, and have received lots of compliments.
Warning regarding Tynn Line, it is heavy and slouchy (perfect for the Ankers tee), and probably not suited for the Friday tee. Also alpaca will be too warm.
Your tips re size/boobs are good!
Thanks for the tips!
Great job Vanissia. Enjoy your episodes and your vibe.
thanks x
BTW, I love Drops Belle. Knitted a couple of items with it and have not been disappointed with the end result nor the experience in knitting it.
i'm not the hugest fan so i dont think i will use it again sadly!
Love this pattern roundup!😊
Thank you! 😊
Such a great selection of summer knits. Thank you. I look forward to watching further episodes.
Glad you like them!
I can’t wait to do a t shirt ! Great information on yarns !! Thank you for all you do !!!

Glad you enjoyed ♥
This was my first time watching your channel, and I’ve now subscribed. Thank you for putting all those ideas together for us!
Thank you, I am glad !
Love this video! Thank you for rounding some beautiful patterns up! I’ve had my eye on the peacock tee for a bit and now I’m getting cast on vibes! Thank you!!
Glad you enjoyed ! Hope you cast on the peacock tee soon then :P
Excellent video. Lots on inspiration and information. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks so much for saying that! ♥
These are some very nice summer patterns. Thank you for creating this roundup. I hope to knit some summer shirts this year.
You are so welcome! Hope you enjoy knitting them!
Your selections are great and you have some beautiful yarn and colors for your plans.
Glad you like them!
Waw, very inspiring! You talked about many different types of T-shirt and that was really interesting to see all this diversity!
Glad you enjoyed it! I really wanted to try and cover a lot of bases !
Nicely put together and presented. Thank you for researching the different designs. Look forward to seeing your finished objects whatever you decide on. 😊
Thank you so much!
such a nice collection of patterns ! I'm planning on making the Moonset tee and the Kaarina tee this spring ! Can't wait to see what you end up making !
Have a nice day!
Thank you! The Kaarina tee is really gorgeous, maybe that's what I could use my Cardamom for ! have a lovely day too Manon :D
Great round up of patterns. I love that you show the photos and the yarn you will be using. I’ve made the anker tee. You’ve inspired me to make the Friday tee.
Wonderful! I am glad you found that helpful :D
I have made the Anker summer shirt and love it. I do have to add the elastic at the top for this summer. Love wearing it. I made it in the called for yarn. I'm almost finished making my cumulus top in pure silk from KFO and lived working with that, too!
Aw that all sounds great ! And yeah, I'm gonna need to start putting elastic in knits too. Glad to hear you're wearing yours !
First time viewer and I loved this pattern round up! All the information you provide is extra helpful. Thank you!!
i am glad ! Welcome aboard ♥
I've made the Anker Summer Shirt using Lion Brand Coboo and I love it. I did add elastic at the neck. I have the Moonset and Faafa on my radar and after seeing this video, I need a Vellichor in my wardrobe. Thanks for the inspiration!
Sounds great! Have fun with those plans :D
That blue yarn is going to look STUNNING on you! First time I’ve seen your videos. Now a subscriber! You’re a lovely young lady.
Thank you so much ! You're too kind x
Very nice video, full of ideas. Thank you 👍. Don’t hesitate in making more, it’s really interesting.
Thank you! Will do!
Thank you so much for this roundup!! I did a similar check of patterns this spring, looking for tee shirt shapes, and did save 2 or 3 of these in favorites. I love the others you've got here, and will certainly check them out ❤❤
You are so welcome! And yes i much prefer tshirts than camisoles !
Great episode. I’m going to try a cabled tee and the cozy raglan but stripe it. I’ve made the Anker summer shirt in a gray cotton and i like it. The Vellichor- so intimidating! Thank you for your thorough podcast.
Thanks for your comment! Cabled tees look so interesting. I hope to do the vellichor this year but yeah it seems like a beast!
Lots of good tee shirt patterns mentioned here. I recently made the Friday Tee, yes it’s a time consuming project and I doubted I would like the finished product. But after blocking, it is exactly what I wanted. It’s a perfect fit. I made it using Sandnes Garn Sunday in light beige as the background and light blue stripes. I also made the peacock tee using Sandnes Garn Line. It’s a wonderful pattern and I love the finished tee. Fits beautifully. The other tee I finished this past month is the Cumulus tee in KFO pure silk, in the colour putty. This one flew off my needles. Also another great fit. I plan on making Caidree’s recent tee shirt release, the Suri Shirt. Love every thing about it 😊
Aww you're making me want to cast on the friday tee soon, I would love a good fit ! Beige and blue sounds amazing. The cumulus tee is gorgeous too !! Well done on all those tees :D
That was lovely inspiration thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
Good details!!
Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much! 🫶🏻 Really love your patterns choice💔
You’re welcome 😊
Love hearing your thought process and selections. I am considering the Dingley Dell tee in skinny stripes
Ooh that's really pretty!
Thanks for your gorgeous content
Thanks for sharing!! I've cast mine on and the lace is very addictive ! I hope it's not too boring once i reach stockinette. Clearing out needles is always very satisfying ! good luck :D
Thanks for the inspiration ❤
You are so welcome!
Really enjoyed this video and your suggestions of the different yarns for summer fibers! Super excited to see your summer garments and your review of the different yarns! Also I had no idea that drops belle was the same composition and the sandnes garn line🤯 That's a great tip haha
Yay! Thank you! I'm also very excited to report back on all those yarns once ive actually worked with them ! I feel like it's nice to get a good variety so i know what i like or want to avoid in the future
I love to see Irene Lin getting a mention - I haven't tried one of her shirt patterns yet, but her sweaters are so lovely.
Right?! can't wait to cast one on
i live in the southern hemisphere but i'm being tempted to cast on a late autumn tee now, it's never too late. thanks for your suggestions, i really enjoy this kind of videos and i'll be delighted if you decide to make one for camisoles!
So happy you liked it! And yes, one is planned ! I will probably make it closer to june however
I'm using Knitting for Olive pure silk right now and it knits up really nicely with a great drape! Thanks for the good ideas.
Sounds great! I can't wait to see that drape !
Lovely group of patterns thank you. You might like to add the Salty Air tee by Samantha Guerin to your list, it is a lovely little crew neck with a nice lacy yoke. Winter is coming here in Australia but it never a chore to add to favourites in Ravelry😀
Oh good call !! It is really nice. Happy knitting in Australia !
Thanks these are some nice tee's
Glad you like them!
Nice Video, nice inspirations, Thank you ❤, Greetings from the Isle of La Palma to Scotland 🐬
Thank you so much ! And hope all is well on La Palma !
@@thewoollyworker Yeah,…..the volcano is calm now….🙏, Thank you..🌷
you are so delightful i wear tees year round
Thank you! And that's nice !
That peacock color will look fabulous on you and the pattern is beautiful. I’m a beginning knitter so that’s not something I’d attempt yet but maybe in the future. Love all your picks and enjoyed you very much. New subscriber
thank you, it was quite an easy knit with minimal shaping, hope you attempt it in the future ! :)
Hello. I really like what you’ve chosen :) thanks for inspiration for my own spring knitting.
I want to just share my experience. Drops Belle is really nice to knit yarnand then good to wear in a garment :). Usually I like vivid colours but sometimes I choose colours which are so similar to my skin tone that is bearable visible. So this gorgeus pink merino-silk blend I would use for tee for sure :)
Thanks for sharing!! I am finding Belle very weird to work with but I am getting used to it. And yes, someone suggested pairing the silk with a medium grey, and i think it would look gorgeous!
Love seeing your variety of t's and designers. I was knitting on an eyelet bralette by hirismakes for her KAL in a cotton/merino - the blend definitely helps but it is odd working with something that isn't pure wool!
Random aside - I recently went to an Angèle concert and I thought of you since she is also from Belgium XD I know there are many more Belgians but... alas, my brain made that connection. She has a song about loving Brussels and I just thought, "That's funny, because Vanissia mentioned she doesn't plan on moving back to Belgium!"
it is weird to work with a non-wool fiber ! I hope i get used to it. Have fun with the KAL bralette ! And that's fun, thanks for sharing ! I don't think ive heard of her actually. Brussels is amazing so she has a point!
Love your review and pattern round-up. Most are in my favourite list too, Faye being on the top!!! Decisions, decisions 😂
I’m off now to look at Vellichor. I didn’t realise that I could do that with Tynn Lynn.
I knit the Isager Swirl using Merilin. I wear it a lot and I love the Merilin. I would definitely knit in it again. More muted colours and definitely no shine 😂
oooh it is gorgeous isn't it ! And thanks for mentioning that pattern, ive now added it to my favourites !!
Such a helpful video. Some are already on my list, and you've introduced me to some affordable yarns which is super helpful! My next summer cast on is going to be the Poppy Tee by Petiteknit I think .
I'm so glad! Affordable yarns are so important. And YES that design is amazing, I'm gonna see what other yarns people use
Lovely podcastsome fgreatideas I would go with the peacock it's seems slightly nicer. But there's not much in it have fun knitting. Knitting fairy blessing
Thanks!
As a Dane I can’t help but notice how many Danish designers and yarns you mention. 😊
aha, that must be all the instagram and youtube influences!
Thank you for this video, it's just what I needed, inspite of it being autumn in the southern hemisphere. I have my eye on 2 of your recommendations, plus im hanging out for the Tolsta tee by the Creabea to be launched.
Oh yeah that is definitely going to be a great pattern to add to that list!
Great episode. I’m currently knitting the Friday tee. Many of the others are in my favourites. I have the exact same colour of Belle. The Peacock tee is a possibility.
Sounds great! I love seein all the different variations of the friday tee. Hope you're enjoying it!
Very nice. I'm half way though knitting the peacock tee in sandnes line. A nice pattern. A bit unclear so have a good look at the tips on Ravelry.
Great tip! thanks for sharing!
I love in a hot and humid part of the US, and I have made at least 3 if not more summer tops with a wool and nylon blend. Wool breathes and I think it is a common misconception that you should not make summer tops with mainly wool. I loved seeing your thoughts...I plan on making both the Anker and the Cozy Classic Light this year :)
Fair enough ! I think you're right and it's not as bad as it might sound. Especially if it's not skin-tight. I prefer loose fitting clothes anyways. Have fun knitting those projects !
Loved this pattern round up! Would love to see what you come up with if you decide to do a video for camisoles :)
Thank you! Will do! I still need to gather a few that aren't all My Favourite Things Knitwear, aha
You could use the Zakami yarn as a contrast colour for stripes or colourwork, maybe combined with a mid- or dark grey, so it wouldn't be right next to your face. It looks like a lovely yarn!
a grey would look super gorgeous with this, you are right !! I'll keep this in mind for sure
The Moon Set Tee by Ozetta is also on my to-knit list!! It's such a lovely construction and that V-neck gives it that little bit of je ne sais quoi 😊
Though I'm also tempted by the Cozy Classic Light... or any of Jessie Mae's other stunning designs tbh 👀
It's so good! I love all the moon-set collection patterns to be fair. If only I could knit with 8 hands...
@@thewoollyworker ahaha, octo-knitting would be great, yes!! 😂🐙
Your cowl is beautiful
Thank you!
I love your pattern roundup videos! I will definitely be making a few of those but I don’t think you’ve talked me into bottom up😂
Thank you! And aha, top down really is the best, isn't it
I’ve made four Friday Ts by Petite knit, one of them long sleeved, so I definitely recommend the pattern. Wasn’t boring at all
oh wow that's dedication !! A long sleeve ones sounds amazing too
@@thewoollyworker the fit really works for me and for my kid. So I’ve made two striped versions in merino/nylon and tinn line, and two solid versions in 100% linen and thin merino.
very fun episode. I think that beautiful bright blue will look great on you. Wondering if you have given any thought about the needles you will use on the non-wool yarns? I have some silk and bamboo yarns I want to knit up. I have knit the Anker summer shirt for my daughter out if Rowan cotton cashmere. The yarn did not have a lot of give but it wasn't as bad as the little sun cap I made out of all cotton. But the pattern was a quick and fun knit. I am in Colorado - it will be 80 degrees Fahrenheit tomorrow here. so I am pushing to finish the toddler sweater and baby blanket I have on my needles and get to summer knits . I am having to make some difficult decisions, there are so many nice patterns
I did not think of needles, as I only have the one set, but having started my Palme tee in the Drops Belle, I can see how wooden needles might be quite useful, as it is very slippery ! It is tricky to choose what patterns to dedicate our knitting time to, isn't it!
Hello I am new to your channel, I am living in Ireland, I love the way that you describe the patterns and the wool required, especially the affordable option as I find that I can not buy the recommend yarn as the shipping is too expensive.
I am so glad you find that enjoyable ! I also hate paying too much for shipping x
Here in central Illinois, USA we have been getting up to around 70°f really gettin into the soring weather, but i miss my sweaters .
Aw, yes I will miss making sweaters too much not to make any! Jealous of your nice weather
I have made several summer tees. Not all successful. Rift (Berroco remix light)…..too short. Ankers( Sandes Line)….two colors on yoke which is very tight and body almost too wide. Ranunculus (quince and co. Kestral)….it grew to huge proportions. Currently doing viola (cascade ultra Pima fine)….jury is still out. I want to try Rebecca Clown’s new summer tee, Tolsta.
wow that's a lot ! And yeah I bet there's gonna be a LOT of tolstas by the end of summer ! We are spoiled for choice :D
Hi! I suggest you check out Anna Tee by Sara Stark. I think that is a beauty! Did not knit it (yet), though. Take care!
Oh it is really pretty !! Love the shoulder. Added to the list !
i love this content, it would be awesome if this could be done for cardigans to
Thank you! I've actually done it already: czcams.com/video/TOfDrSIlNAM/video.html
There is also one for sweaters earlier in the channel :)
@@thewoollyworker i am super sorry i missed that episode😊
Stopping the podcast to ask,
How do you like Isager yarn alpaca & the silk? I’ve been eyeing that brand ever since MyFavoriteKnitwear came out with sweater no. 25. That lime -golden green! But is it itchy? I can only get online not in person so it’s frustrating not to feel in person.
Your vest is beautiful btw. Now back to podcast. 🙂
I absolutely adore it ! If you can handle some mohairs, the isager is definitely up there in the best quality softest ones. But if you don't like mohair, then I don't know if it would make such a difference ! Maybe buy a couple of skeins and make a cowl, or a sweater vest first, before jumping into a sweater?
Have a look at King Cole Linendale 🤔
Thanks for the recommendation !
Silk is hard on my hands, in general. I also get frustrated with cotton. I'm a wooly knitter.
I think I'll always prefer wool ! But we will see after this season
@@thewoollyworker I'm knitting winter sweaters all year, this year. So wooly wonders. I'm sewing summer tops. Next year I may knit more summer things. I loved the video!!
I often find patterns that I love until I look at the finished projects on Ravelry. I wonder, well, the designer did a lovely job but why am I not liking the projects by the Ravelry members?
Yeah, that happens a lot and makes me think twice !
Not just in your video … but I am so sick of hearing about petit knit - maybe consider shouting out smaller designers or limiting one pattern from a designer in a collection? I switched off after the third mention in a top-ten
I understand ! There are definitely many other designers that deserve as much spotlight!
