    Bought my first Surefire light back in 2004 before LED's were used. It's a Millennium M2 Centurion lithium powered with either 65 or 120 lumens. I must say, it was the brightest light I'd ever encountered at that time. It came with two different lamp assemblies for the 65 Xeon or 120 Xeon/Halogen lumen outputs. *This light was made like a tank!* Still works totally fine to this day, using the original two lamps. And those Surefire Lithium 123A batteries claimed a 10 year shelf life. Well, I'm powering that light today with the batteries I bought in 2004...though they are beginning to fade when installing new ones fresh in the light. I guess this is a "plug" for Surefire...but that light changed my life!

    I like my Surefire lights. I like my Elzetta ones a lot more though. The Elzetta Bravo B331 with a Thyrm Switchback 2.0 is the best light for defense by far and puts the Surefire ones to shame.

    hey charles, my one frustration with most if not all flashlights is they cannot run for say 10 minutes without getting too hot to hold. i know we mainly use them for seconds but surely 10 minutes isn't a lot to ask. and you are just the man to ask. so is there such a flashlight with 400 lumen + that you have come across ?
    thanks for sharing
    kind regards
    ian.

      @CharlesBridgTec  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Well, this light on low does not get hot but most turbo high powered lights will heat up. Thanks for watching!

    Hi,
    Are you sure that is possible use the Surefire G2ZX with 16650 battery? Isn't possible to damage it due to the voltage difference? (3v of CR123A vs 3,7v of 16650)
    Thank you

    • @CharlesBridgTec
      @CharlesBridgTec  Před 5 lety +1

      Nope cause the light can run on both voltages. Rechargeable battery is nicer because you can use it over and over. Thanks for watching!

    • @bennelson3724
      @bennelson3724 Před 4 lety +1

      When 2 of the 3v 123a batteries are used in these lights it actually runs on 6v not 3v... so running a single 3.7v battery is actually less voltage than the lights is spec’d to handle. So no damage at all, but some lights will be less bright due to the less voltage running through it.

    I got a cheapie 588 Lumens Quantum flashlight from harbor freight store that does not come close to this Surefire with only 600 Lumens, how is that possible.

      Lumens are only one factor, the Surefire most likely has a much higher candela

    Oh no we have a Surefire review. It’s like throwing gas into a bon fire. I’ve owned damn near 15 Surefire lights in my life. I’ve had one fail and the warranty was not honored on my old E1B.
    Here’s the deal. Surefire lights are built like tanks, apparently the warranty works for everyone but me and they used to lead the law enforcement community and military community.
    I had a few when I served at that time I thought they were the best things ever. They are extremely over priced, lack up to date technology and simply refuse to change or to be nicer they are slowly changing.
    They are not geared to people who are on BLF or CPF. They are not a flashaholic company. They appeal to Law enforcement and the military and provide what those services require.
    Not everyone needs a 25,000 lumen light that has ramping and hidden features. Tactically that not what you want or need. Like Charles said 600 lumens is a lot of light we are all just spoiled because we have higher lumen lights but you have to remember the objective Surefire lights are geared to.
    With that said I’ve never had any other brand of light that I’ve purchased ever fail. The only one I’ve ever had fail is my old E1B. People who walk their dogs, go hunting, like to just go out and see how far their lights can throw or are looking for the perfect EDC light are not going to buy a Surefire.
    You have a buffet of lights to chose from with options that are suited for those objectives. Plus those lights geared for those things are going to be significantly cheaper.
    Let’s be honest for a minute here, all of these high powered, super lumen lights sound great on paper but their actual runtimes on turbo usually only last 3-5 minutes max.
    So if you have a 3,200 lumen tactical light that runs on an 18650 you really don’t have a 3,200 lumen light. You have a light that can hit 3,200 lumens for a minute or two. Then it drops to 1,200 and then down we go.
    Once you get into lights that take cells bigger than 18650 and use them in a law enforcement fashion they are usually to big to sit comfortably on a duty belt and are not tactical.
    They have to many light levels. So I don’t bash any light company. They all have different lights that suit the needs of what each person needs.
    If you want a Surefire, awesome. If you wants a Sofirn, awesome. I have all kinds of light including Surefire still and they all serve a purpose for a specific task.
    Just my 2 cents. Good review as always Charles. 👍🏼

    Surefire old technology and way overpriced just because its made in usa, have no clue why they are still so popular there are better lights outthere for way less $$

      Opinions vary don't they?! Believe it or not, Surefire is not the most expensive light on the market. While it's true, there are lights out there for less $$...but not *BETTER lights for less $$.* I own a few Surefire's, and they are all totally reliable, and operate without failure far longer than any lights on the market! So actually you get what you pay for. But of course, many of the people who hang out on channels that review flashlights are people who have flashlight fetishes. People who have to have the latest models regardless of whether or not their current lights are still working. It matters not what lights are actually the best superior lights, they are going to continue buying lights till the cows come home! So it's probably a good thing that you don't buy Surefire's, because you'd stop having legit reasons to buy new lights. LOL

      @@theinformer2615 well i'm not a flashaholic but just an interested viewer and i own just a couple of lights wich i all use on a daily basis so no i am not one of those guys that need the newest, the biggest or smallest and the brightest to impress other people or put them in a drawer somewhere. but to pay the $ price in € + a considerable add on for a simple surefire...not for me

    • @CharlesBridgTec
      @CharlesBridgTec  Před 5 lety +1

      I agree. They are built like tanks. Also they don't list the type of LED used anywhere which is a pain. Thanks for watching!

      Hello,
      I'm a kidex holster make and mainly make holsters for full size mid and tactical flashlight for LEO's. I own a lot of surefire flashlights from the classic C2 Centurion to the newest such as the Fury DFT, lawman and alot of the EDC such as the EDCL1-T, EDCL2-T, tactician etc.
      The surefire are pricy due to their quality and mainly the anodized finished. To me the second or 3rd best will be the Pelican and Streamlight brands.
      I also own alot of the Chinese brands such as. Olight, Nitecore, Fenix, Thrunite and Klarus.
      They got popular for using the 18650 rechargeable batteries and most recent years the larger 21700 batteries.
      However, their anodized finished don't come even close to the quality of surefire...
