I feel that the mega structures that are crating the city scapes of our modern cities are making it more repressive of the individual. This creates a more Orwellian and less utopian society. I feel that buildings of our cities should pay more respect to the scale of the individual, and make it more welcoming and encompassing of everyone in the society. I think that highrises should make more less foreboding influences on society and make it more approachable to the individual thus making our cities a more welcoming place to be. This will in my opinion make it more advantageous to the society because it encourages the one to make the many more powerful. Power in numbers, encourage the one. In small scale projects I feel that elements like in a house should provide security but provide a sense of home so less overpowering elements are called for. Being initiative in materialism for the projects is great for atheistic design.

Very well put. Yet, I disagree that this generation does not like to be challenged. Rather we are being challenged constantly with bogus constructs. Therefore people are very fatigue'. In this way, we are manipulated by design which is made for our comfort, we gravitate towards this because we are exhausted. Not because we do not enjoy stimulation or challenge, or better yet that balance between being both comfortable and also stretching the limits.

Good Pulic conceptual designs work scale important to in challeng vs comfort, white a good theme for figure, models, prototypes or realisation of structure and light.

Also, there is a lack of Diversity, as alluded to by Philip Johnson. We are not in the heroic period of Architecture as in the times of Mies van der Rohe or Michelangelo or Wright..We are into Obedience, Conformity and the use of Cartel Signature Materials like Aluminium and Glass..we need to look at bringing back Wood and other Materials ; today's technology of Glue Laminate Beams enables high buildings in Lumber. Some audacity will occur when the Funding for Building Diversifies..a lack of Diversity and an intolerance for dissenting architectural approaches leads to boring Cityscapes
