@Daeva Tollnes Firstly, thank you so much for taking the time interact with your audience. It's people like you (all) I really appreciate!
And yes, all music lovers are like that, but what I specifically wanted was to point out the Eurovision fandom. I've seen really toxic, abusive, racist, hypocritical, and so forth, people in this community who just can't settle differences and think that said opinion is concrete and unchangeable: It's just sad.
If my comment offended the Eurovision Hub staff in any way, I'm sorry. I didn't intend to direct it at you all and I probably should have posted it at a discussion where it was better suited.

      Good question!
In 2011, UK was better than Bosnia and Herzegovina which ended at the 6th place. (I'm actually from B&H, but let's be real, 6th place was way too high).
In 2014, Molly was my winner, so I would place her above anyone on that Top 10.
In 2017, I would definitely remove Australia from the Top 10. Also, I did not like Portugal at all that year, so I would have liked to see Lucy take the W instead of Salvador.

Great video guys! Here's where I stand:
2010 - pretty much what everyone else said, sounded like it was from the year 2000.
2011 - I wonder how it would've done if it wasn't performed by BLUE..
    2012 - Good singer - underwhelming song.
2013 - I believe in Bonnie, but not the song.
2014 - An improvement in staging and song, which was reflected somewhat in the results.
    2015 - ...
2016 - Fresh and different for the UK, the result wasn't deserved.
2017 - Welcome to the 2010s UK! I would place this in the top 10.
2018 - Sweet performer... weak song.
    2019 - V O C A L S!! 11 points????? Really?
In summation: Most of the entries feel as though the UK is trying to solve a points puzzle, and it shows. It might be better to take a cue from the Netherlands, and send something coming from a more genuine place.
Best of luck in the next decade!

    2010: 0p - Too cheesy
2011: 6p - Not my cup of tea.
    2012: 7p - Cute
    2013: 3p - A great singer but a really dull song
    2014: 7p - Powerful
    2015: 6p - Funny, but very odd
    2016: 6p - Cute, but a dull song
2017: 12p - For me, this was up there with Portugal. A top 3.
    2018: 8p - Lovable, cute and a top 15 for me.
2019: 8p - Very much like Sweden, but worse staging. Top 10 for me.

I never understood why people thought Michael Rice was going to place higher. He more than the song was the issue. That song needed to be performed with a lot of masculinity like from an Uku, Mans etc. but he performed it in such a camp, feminine manner. In addition he has the standard power voice that most people who get to bootcamp on X Factor have - no unique vocal texture to it. Also, his star quality is non existent. It really seemed like he finished his shift at retail and then came on stage.

From the land of fish, chips, and crazy car crash sequences in the expressways of Holby City and Emmerdale that would put Final Destination 2 to shame, here are my thoughts:
2010: The selection method they had from 2009 simply didn't work the second time around because of the actual song that the BBC internally selected. The song's okay for me but maybe not fit for Eurovision. Josh Debovie deserved better.
2011: Televote Top 10. They were ahead of the nostalgia curve around this time as they became one of the featured groups in the first season of The Big Reunion 2 years later.
2012: Would it be nice had the UK sent him several decades earlier when he was at his career peak? The song itself is fine, and age didn't matter, as proven by Russia that same year. He continues to be an omnipresent presence in AM music stations back home so he's still earning those royalty moolahs sp he'll be fine.
2013: Probably not at her vocal best come finale time because she sounded great years later at the cruise she was in with Joe Jonas. Being a non-traditional Eurovision-by-the-numbers song, I thoroughly enjoyed this and the original 4-minute cut. She still gave the UK one of its best results of the decade.
2014: Probably the best selection method the BBC had. Such a shame they didn't continue to use BBC Introducing (Ireland is doing a similar approach for 2020).
2015: Staging killed this. 'Nuff said.
2016: I quite like this one. Shame it didn't get the televote support that it deserved. On the jury side, it placed 17th so it wasn't all bad news.
2017: The best out of all the UK had sent via You Decide. Jury Top 10 placement was well-deserved. At this point, the UK have gotten its casting down to a tee with its performers. And they got lucky with the song which Lucie was able to own as if it was hers.
2018: I quite liked this lots, although I did like the original Clean Bandit-esque national selection version much better. And it did outpaced Sweden on the televote, which was delightfully sweet.
2019: Michael Rice delivered vocally. I just think the delegation failed on a lot of aspects on making the performance memorable, among other things (convulated selection format for You Decide). On the plus side, Sahlene (Estonia 2002) was there. And of course, it didn't deserve getting last. On another positive note: It wasn't last in neither side of the vote so we can thank solace to that,

No big UK act would touch Eurovision partly as they don't need to and partly as it can be the kiss of death to a carear. I remember Bjorn Ulveus of ABBA saying that if they were British they would not have had to resort to the contest to be noticed but at that time acts from Sweden were rarely taken seriously.
Let's face it if a UK act fails at eurovision they are hardly heard of again. The only exceptions I can think of who are still around are Cliff Richard (lost twice), Olivia Newton-John (to some extent) and Michael Ball.

Lucie Jones' entry getting such a low place just means the voters just keep hating on the UK (before, or after the Brexit vote). Even Blue didn't get top 10. It's not a running order issue. Not a song issue. Not an artist issue. Anyway, I have to re-watch the Michael Rice performance. Wasn't my favorite. But everyone here seemed to like it.

Can’t little mix sing Woman like me in Eurovision 2020? They would end up FIRST!

Nope. The song has to be released before September 2019 and they are too famous and would never agree to participate.

The last two years we had really good singers, but the songs were, frankly, bad. Surie did the absolute best she could do with Storm, but it was just not of sufficient quality. There's a song she wrote, Kolibri, that I absolutely love. The same with Michael Rice last year - he's clearly a strong singer, but the song was generic trash. Both he and Surie deserved better songs and better staging. The BBC managed to get away with it for Surie, but they were clearly trying to save money both years, and it showed. I felt Lucie Jones' song, Never Give Up On You, was similarly generic and lyrically uninteresting. Ultimately, I think the problem is the selection process; they have groups of writers coming up with a song that has to work for some random artist. The result is that any connection between lyrics and artist is coincidental and forced.

OMG w really sent some turds. if we can't do better than this we should simply not participate. I barely remember any of these songs, and send faded stars doesn't work. Of these 10 Joe & Jake, Surie, Lucie are only really worth listening to.

Uk should stay out if they can't do anything better. Horrible for 26 years. I normally I don't like UK entries. Last year was a nightmare of screaming. 2019 as well is horrible. I hate when people shout to me a Disney message.
