There wouldnt be too many priviliges bigger than being a musician & a Beatle wanting to play drums & perform a song that you wrote, while you sang. Though Men at works times was brief - they were international heavyweights to the very core. A very loved & very cool band indeed.
You finish writing your song and think to yourself “give it a few decades, I’ll play this song with a Beatle” ❤️
Colin has one of the GREATEST vocal tones . Up there w Bruce Dickinsons tone , Bono , Tony harnell , don dokken , Ann Wilson , many golden voiced classic rock tones

Colin Hay sounds amazing. He must be sick of playing the classic hits but they sound better and better every year.
drewster 317 If you go to one of his shows you'll find he doesn't only play the hits. He's been writing and performing amazing songs ever since Men at Work disbanded and he's amazing in concert!
I loved Colin's cameo in that episode of "Scrubs" where Cox smashes up his guitar while he's singing "Overkill"; cue Colin: "I have other songs!"

Funny you say that (that he must be sick of playing the hits)because I just recently ran across a video of one of his live performances within the last 5 or so years. He was getting ready to perform the song 'Overkill' and he said to the audience "Arent you all tired of hearing these old songs yet? Funny thing is Im not sick of this one and Ive been doing it for 35 years!" Now Im not sure if he meant 'Overkill' specifically and that was his way of saying he was particularly fond of that song or if he still enjoys performing ALL his old hits but at any rate its nice to hear that from his own mouth. Ive often wondered that when Im at a concert of an artist from way back when. Its nice, REALLY NICE actually to hear this

One of the best rock songs I've ever heard. Colin Hay was always great and it's nice to see he still has that vocal magic. A Beatle plays a Men at Work song -- and Edgar Winter does the memorable sax. Incredible.

Greg Bissonette in the drivers seat alongside Ringo, Greg is one of the most sought after touring and studio drummers on the planet. Truly one of the best in the business and a very nice down to earth man. I've had the pleasure of meeting him a few times.
All Starr Band Tour Issues:
Night 1: "Ringo, the bass player has food poisoning!" Ringo: "Relax Edgar Winter will fill in."
Night 2: "Ringo, The drummer couldn't make his flight!" Ringo: Edgar will fill in."
Night 3: "Ringo, Tashi Wan O bielum can't make it! He plays this very obscure Himalayan stringed instrument!" Ringo: "Hey Edgar.... thoughts?"

He sings effortless and its why he has his fastball. Great tone in his voice.

Saw Colin Hay at the Mick Jagger Centre around 2007, shame only about 80 people turned up, they missed a great evening with some funny anecdotes between songs. Thanks Colin!.

I saw Colin at Musikfest in 2017 in Bethlehem, PA doing a one-man show. His acoustic rendition of Who Can It Be Now lacked the sax that we all know and love, but still it was cool to see him live on stage!

Just saw them play this again last night in Kingston and it was phenomenal. Top 5 songs of the entire night. Colin still nailed every note and Ringo was having as much fun as ever playing it. You know it’s a good song if a Beatle rocks out on it.

Excellent lyrics, dealing with loneliness, paranoia and anxiety. A US number 1 for Men At Work at its one of their best songs. Their three albums are brimful of marvellous pop rock songs!
I like how you interpreted it but the song was made because Colin Hay lived next to a drug dealer and the most busted and shady people would knock on his door when he least needed it

Ringo, Gregg, Colin, Edgar, and Hamish are still in the band without Billy and Gary (rip). They've since brought on Steve Lukather and Warren Ham.

Saw men at work at the James l Knight theater in miami in the 80s and the acoustics were perfect. Great band that broke up too soon. I can't believe the lead singer sounds the same after all these years!!! And Edgar winter has figured out the fountain of youth!
