    The "widebody" you're talking about isn't an STI feature, but is the standard body lines of the sedan GD impreza.
    The factory tinted glass is just usual tinted glass. It was an option from out of the showroom, and isn't hard to acquire aftermarket.
    The fuel efficiency in my 05 GG WRX is actually quite good. I get 450-500 on a full tank, 450 being the more spirited driving economy.
    One con that could be added to this, is the known common rust spots in the rear strut tower.

    Lovely car buddy, I have the sedan version. Speed and fuel economy don't go in the same sentence....lol.
    Stop comparing your wrx to sti. The Sti are fantastic but not as user friendly as the wrx. Plus with a pro tune on my stock wrx I got 270bhp and 268 ft lbs. Enjoy!!!

    very nice wrx u got there wrx's are very great daily drivers if u dont modify them also u can go rally with them from the factory allready stock are very fun to drive and very reliable my advice for the wrx is to dont go with crazy modifications if u relly wnat to daily drive one

    Great car.. I love my '06 Hawkeye WRX sedan. I'm just not a fan of the 5 speed manual gearbox, too fragile. So once synchro from 3rd to 4th finally gives up it'll be getting an STI box. Other than that I wouldn't change a thing about it.

      How has reliability been?

    • @d4rkblu386
      @d4rkblu386 Před 2 lety

      @@Ballsack44 Solid so far. it was a bit of trouble to get through inspection, but it was lightly modded so that's no surprise. No engine issues in the 5000 miles I've put on it and the car already had 133k miles. The car was semi-well maintained; had a cracked up pipe, shit axle, warped rotors, cracked brake hoses, and a smidge of rust in one of the wheel wells. However, the interior is mint, the timing belt was replaced at 100k miles, 0 accident report, oil changes every 2500 miles, and some tasteful engine mods with a pro tune. Cost me about 3500$ to deal with all that, so I'm 11k deep into this car after buying it, repairing, inspecting it, taxes, and registration.
      Definitely took some elbow grease, but it drives like a dream and I honestly don't regret a thing. I've got some suspension work to do next; coil-overs for sure, sway bars, drop links, and maybe some other stuff to improve the ride and stiffness. probably another 2k coming up for that project. We'll see how it turns out.

      I have my eyes on a 06 WRX hatch here in Australia. The only thing thats stop me from buying it now is that it is modified, it has sti turbo, sti intercooler, psr turbo inlet, Cobb short shifter with bearings done, heavy duty clutch, rcm copper head gaskets, ARP headstuds, water pump, Walbro fuel pump, aem fuel regulator, hks bov, process west y pipe and Cobb tuning intake. Things done 150k and I don't know if I should avoid it. Any ideas mate?

    • @OmniGarage
      @OmniGarage  Před 4 lety +1

      With all that work done to it, it sounds like its been driven hard. In saying that though, I searched for a clean unmodified one with very low kms for a long time. They becoming rare to find!

    • @OmniGarage
      @OmniGarage  Před 3 lety +1

      Trying to find a nice one is getting harder and harder. I don't know the brand of wheels. MCA suspension red series. 7kg spring on the front, 5kg on the rear.

    • @Willdrknght
      @Willdrknght Před 3 lety

      I’m really undecided if I go coilovers or not , still a daily with picking up kids etc but I didn’t get a wrx for straighline speed haha . I wanted factory sti wheels but as you know there’s a lot you need to do .

    • @OmniGarage
      @OmniGarage  Před 2 lety

      Yip I still have it. Had it for 6 odd years. Never had any major problem. I believe cars are as reliable as you make them. If you start with a good clean platform, then continue to look after it, do regular maintenance, address small issues you should be good.

    • @OmniGarage
      @OmniGarage  Před 3 lety +1
