Love me some postal service and death cab saw that same set at riot fest it was awesome. I also saw postal service at lolla back in 2013.
Postal service had 1 album and they are the bigger draw because they dont play live the only time the played live was i guess at lolla then they did this huge tour which is awesome that people get to see them. Glad you both have good tastes in music.
I'm glad the show was amazing for you both.
I'm also grateful I will get to see both bands live for the first time later this year. Death cabs music is beautiful in every way and to hear it live will be incredible.

Death Cab for Cutie - named from a song not by The Beatles in their Magical Mystery Tour film - has been a band for 20+ years fronted by lead singer songwriter Ben Gibbard. The Postal Service was a side project by Gibbard that made one album. That album was pretty popular though, went platinum. Then the Death Cab album after the Postal Service album, Plans, was Death Cab's highest seller, went platinum. The records before and after went Gold. I don't think they ever got major mainstream radio play, but both bands got movie, TV and commercial placements.

0:45 Dave and Dani, if you plan on upgrading your record player/turntable, as you know, there are plenty of CZcams videos showcasing a Top Ten list, etc. of turntables or reviewing vintage or new turntables, etc.
Avoid suitcase record players in the long-run. Good luck. :)
1:13 Something I would suggest, Dave, to boost your viewership, is to video yourself flipping through vinyl albums in more detail as part of your thrift store videos to attract vinyl collectors who may have useful tips to offer you or spot albums worth scooping up. It never hurts to attract more eyes to your videos as long as those viewers behave themselves, of course. Haha! :)

I would suggest Fluance T85 turntable very affordable and great quality with ortofon blue cartridge
Yeah, that's an excellent turntable, but Dave and Dani are only getting into vinyl record collecting, so perhaps a fully automatic Audio-Technica belt-drive unit would suit them at a lower cost.
Great suggestion though and Fluance is a Canadian company, so as a Canadian, I think it's amazing what it has created and achieved. :)
I got a top of the line record player a Pro Jet Debuts carbon Evo. tops in its price range. Highly recommended. need a receiver and speakers for it but definitely worth the upgrade.
Pro-ject, yes. It's an excellent company and makes great turntables, but Dave and Dani are relative novices, so there are other more user-friendly brands out there with less fiddling when it comes to setup (like avoiding those dumb anti-skate counterweights on a string which I can't stand with some of my turntables).
I think Death Cab is bigger.

1:13 Dave and Dani, it's great to see you two embracing vinyl records. The trouble with being a bit late to the vinyl party, so to speak, is you missed out on a lot of used vinyl records at thrift stores that were cheap several years ago, but not as cheap now, particularly since the vinyl trend is in full swing.
Most of my 70's and 80's rock music and pop music in my collection was purchased for only a dollar or two from thrift stores a few years to several years ago while oddly enough, many of those albums have been reissued now, but for $30, $50, and upward, so despite the many trips to thrift stores over the years, finding lots of original pressings made the time worthwhile. :)
I had so many records that my parents sold in a garage sale not knowing I would have kept them 😭

I can't stand it when parents do that to their kids' collections without asking them first. That's why vintage Kenner Star Wars figures and Mattel Masters of the Universe figures are worth so much now. It's thanks largely to parents throwing them away or donating them when their kids were in college, deployed overseas, etc.
