This advice is wonderful for those in his/her 20s/30s and some in 40s, but once you're over 50, the doors do not open as easily. I most respectfully suggest that people fight early on (as soon as you have the requisite experience to offer) for what you deserve to be paid. Lingering in underpaying jobs will not have a good result and most of the time that low salary will bog you down.

You can't just watch this, comment, and continue your day. You have to apply these to see the results! As someone who has applied these ways except "The Steve Jobs rule", Nischa is speaking facts, especially putting "yourself in the right auction room" from a personal experience. No company will pay you what you're worth or deserve if you don't know how to negotiate or are not bold enough to walk away and find something else. Now, I must learn to apply "The Steve Jobs rule". Great content, Nischa and thank you!

This video added provided me with very valuable insight and information. This concept of realizing that you have acquired the skills for you job title position, but believing you need more but still won’t change you salary. It made me truly think. Thank you.
I do believe the people in management positions would like us to think at times we aren’t doing enough and need to acquire further skills to bring more worth so income can increase. In the end the increase is only by 3-6% max. It’s not worth the extract hours and sacrifices. Your content today really did provide me with a lot of value and fruit for thought.

Thanks A LOT for sharing your insight. Watching your videos, I feel well-oriented and guided as if I had a finance guru. I used to think of the idea of getting rich and wealthy as evil and mediocre. However, this attitude has taken its toll on me. I don't have enough savings and I'm always worried and anxious about money. I always resort to escapism when I think of the future...
So, I decided to take my personal finances more seriously, and I'd like to take more proactive steps to build a healthy relationship with money. I just realized all of my income streams come from the time I spend. I'd like to figure out how to instead focus on creating value based on the skills I have. Also, I'd like to start saving and investing.
Thanks again. This channel is really helpful!!!

For the real estate action, I think that’s only natural. You are hesitant when you are new to something and it’s necessary to gain that experience but yes, some people jump into things faster and don’t second guess themselves but they also learn things another way. So I think it’s good to have a healthy medium between being prepared and taking action.

    • @a0flj0
      @a0flj0 Před 17 dny

I started out with literally nothing but the clothes I wore day to day. In the early years of my adult life I had to move a lot, constantly hunting for cheap places to stay - and not owning much proved extremely useful, since moving basically meant just packing a few bags.
My only luck was a somewhat decent education. After graduating in a field that basically guaranteed unemployment at that time, and constantly fearing I'll end up sleeping under a bridge, eventually, often working 16 hours a day just to make ends meet, I switched to a better paying domain. Within a year I increased my income 7-fold, making a comfortable living with less than a third of what I earned.
Also, switching from what I trained for to a completely new field meant that for a long period of time I had to spend a lot of time learning. Now, more than two decades later, I still have to invest a lot in learning - my field is pretty weakly regulated, from a professional point of view, but it changes dramatically all the time, so the moment you stop learning you're out. My experience early on set me up perfectly for this - what newcomers to the field perceive as unnatural and hard is just business as usual for me out of habit.
All in all, I believe I was lucky. My early years were indeed hard, but they set me up perfectly for what was to come my way later in life. I did get a lucky break, when I was offered a job completely outside the realm of my skills, in my youth, but without the right mindset that would have amounted to nothing. My professional education wasn't specific to what I ended up doing, but it was a very good intellectual preparation for doing essentially any intellectual work. To this day I spend relatively little - spending habits you develop early on in life stay with you for the rest of your life.
Therefore, I believe it's in fact an advantage if you grow up not having much, getting used to hard work, both physical and intellectual, early on, as long as it doesn't affect your education and your physical wellbeing. Hardship will inevitably affect your emotional wellbeing, but what doesn't kill you just makes you stronger.

Nischa’s insights work at any age. She is not talking about getting a new job. She is telling us that by starting a business, we can have much more control of our income. She also talked about scaling the business, which many self-employed are afraid to do, but that’s where we have better opportunities to not just impact our lives positively but impact the lives of others as well.
Starting a business in the 21st century is not so much about capital but writing a solid plan of action within a certain amount of time.
I’ve been delaying my life so much on the emotional and preparation phase. It is time to make a timely move.
Thank you, Nischa. Congratulations so far on your accomplishments.

I love the essence of the video. It's super useful. Would be nice to have it conveyed a little more precise. Feels like things are over explained.

The Steve Jobs rule was more around focussing on a consumer laptop and desktop and then a professional laptop and desktop - quadrant of 4 and he scrapped everything else. Also, had the foresight to take Microsoft money for Office on the Mac that saved Apple. Really good video - nice work.
