  • Roadie sent me this tuner and asked for my opinion so I decided to fight it in a rather tame battle oft the tuners. Don't take it too seriously, it's just a video.

The Nano Metal Muff from EHX is a Fuzz or Distortion pedal that includes a noise gate and in the new nano sized enclosure so it will actually fit on your pedal board! In this video i play a selection of guitars in the demo to find out what kind of effect pedal this really is! My review is at the end of the video.

I’d go with the Peterson Andy. I currently use the snark but you are right, you really need to take your time with it and if anyone even talks to me the snark picks it up.
If they had one that did 3 strings at a time, that might be handy for live stuff and possibly look impressive. Brilliant as usual mate😀👍👍

That Peterson Strobostomp is pretty great. I would however invest in a roadie if it could tune all of my students' band instruments, though I imagine they would have to increase the motorized appendages and include small tazers to correct lazy embouchures and low-dose muscle relaxers to correct the enthusiastic embouchures. Just one for the road. Another to get home.

Good job showing the different modes of the Roadie 3. It was fun watching. I'm not a professional but you've convinced me to shop a Stomp tuner vs. Roadie. The Roadie is more work, and I agree that for professionals on stage, it isn't a good look to use a robotic tuner in front of an audience. Not cool!

Peterson has been around for something like 70 years and are depended upon by professional instrument techs/installers. They're used on all instruments in the manufacturing/repair industry such as pianos and pipe organs (the use I'm familiar with). I WAS considering the Roadie 3, not anymore. I'm confused. Was the real purpose to sell the Peterson? LOL, kidding. I bought an Ernie Ball clip on, wasn't happy with it's appetite for batteries. Turned around and bought the Boss TU-10 in hopes of higher accuracy. I never looked into Peterson having such a stomp, but I'm just going to get the Peterson (how's the clip on version perform though?) and call it good. Thank you for the video (albeit a touch long) selling me on the Peterson which (with the $ spent on clip-ons) I should have done initially in hindsight. :) Times Peterson mentioned in my post: 6

On the 2nd tuning with the Roadie 3, When you tuned the A string, (just after 5:00) the rotating clip of the motor wheel moved your thumb onto the E-String tuning peg very slightly moving it.
Have a re-watch. They do take a little getting used to. I snapped a couple of top Es myself when I first started using it. The 6th string kept tightening. Since I updated the software I've had no problems.

I had the original Roadie, then Roadie Bass which has recently given up and now the Roadie 3. I use the roadie on my non Floyd guitars to quickly tune them up without turning the pedal board on with the Strobostomp. I use the Stroboclip HD on my Floyd equipped guitars to do the same. Normally I just use the Strobostomp. I find the Roadie 3 to be less accurate to the Peterson tuners but it is convenient.

Should have started the test in a full step down and tune to E standard on each test to be most accurate. Cause it might be faster or slower trying to tune if the guitar note is closer or further away than last untuned guitar test. At least if you started each test in D standard and tuned to E standard then it would be a fair and more accurate test
