Great overall tutorial. If I'm using Brizy page builder, how much of the tutorial is applicable. For example, if I design the menu in Brizy, the settings within the customizer wouldn't matter. Correct?

Hi Darrel, thanks for this tutorial. Just discover your channel and doing my first wordpress. I have 2 questions.
1- For some reason i don't have the locked icon next to the adress bar (https) after installed the theme.
2- At 5:37 when you go on edit page i don't have the option for changing the page structure. I don't see as well Blocksy child parent setting.

Do you think this theme would be most comparable to the Astra theme? My site is a bit messed up and it seems that more videos I watch and the more "improvements" I make either makes it worse or does nothing. I'm a freelance writer and trying to get my site up and running to showcase myself, my portfolio and blog. And my frustration with getting everything to work on the site, changes I've made (watching videos, installing plugins ...) is only making it worse and more frustrating. I've began preparing (according to WP suggestions) my site to replace Astra for something else. Blosksy looks like it has the features I'm looking for, but wanted to know how much damage switching over is going to cause. Any thoughts are welcome. Roger

I'm having trouble replacing the featured images on the rest of pages - Iwas able to figure out the header image on the Homepage but for the life of me I cant work on the About, Blog and Contact pages. Nothings is happening whenever I replace or remove the featured image. 🤔

Thanks for this. Do you have any videos around getting a pop-up box to work please? I have installed Mailerlite plug-in and attached it to my Mailerlite form. But I can't seem to get it working as a popup anywhere. Have enabled Newsletter extension in Blocksy. Have tried using shortcode widgets. Just stuck now. :(

I'm really liking the look of blocksy. It is certainly a lot more flexible and has more features than divi.
I am seriously considering using it for my next site.

Well it just depends on the builder you choose.
Blocksy can work with all builders, it had some pretty good gtmetrix scores. I’m really looking forward to their future development. I love Divi but the theme is sort of neglected and they mainly focus on the builder
@@darrelwilson it certainly seems as though you could easily get away without even using a builder for many sites. The theme has sufficient customisation and you can do a lot with guttenberg now.
@@RussMichaels i still dont like gutenberg at its current state, but who knows mayhe they will improve the drag and drop interface for this next coming year
@@darrelwilsonemportugues yes it's still weak compared to a page builder, but for simple clean sites that want any flashy modules, it will do the job.
Unfortunately getting a really fast site with decent scores, especially with the new Google lighthouse algorithm, does seem to negates the user of page builders unless client is prepared to pay extra for the likes of nitro pack and better hosting.
