Thanks Paul. A couple of videos that people may find interesting and could be of similar structure to this video are:
1) My 3 or 4 favourite themes for dynamic data. Where you give an overview of the dynamic data capabilities of the chosen themes.
2) My 3 or 4 top themes for building a woocommerce site. Again where you give an overview of the woocommerce features/ integration of the chosen themes.
I mean they are okay but paid theme are miles better and come with complex features so in the end you save so much time. sometimes they are for sale on pulpocean for like 4 bucks
Great stuff as usual. These are the 4 themes that I use most, with Astra Pro being my first choice and GP being my last. As you said, all are fantastic options in their own way. I find Kadence and Blocksy to be nearly identical. I’ve also used Neve and OceanWP to great success. Neve is pretty awesome! Thank you as always.

with Blocksy, doesn't seem to be a way to swap out the home page background graphic. How do I do it? using either Elementor or the Gutenberg block editor, does not seem to be a way to find where it's defined

generatepress (free version) is so light and fast, with elementor pro theme builder feature give lots of benefits for dynamics data and so on

These customisers seem great but what about if I have built WordPress themes from the ground up before and just looking for a theme for ideas, can these customised themes be modified in their code?
Blocksy is one of my favorites but i akways have the problem with the "scroll to id menu header" wordpress autoselects those navigations or if you are on another page like the blog you cannot use the navigations. Anyone know how to fix? ❤

Hi Paulo thanks for your smart overwiew, great. May i abuse you general knowledge? I wonder if any Theme or Builder has my Layout Idea as Preset. It is for Blog sector: On the right the blogs are shown as usual om the left to the middle parts of header are shown as Background: The divier between the parts is not vertical but in an agle lets say 60. Have you seen such in one popular Theme? Or anyone else around?

Both will easily get you into the 90's on GPSI if you optimise your content, images and keep plugins to a minimum. :)
Is not really free if I have upgrade to business plan to access the theme.

It all depends how deep you need to go with dynamic data.
Blocksy Pro offers good support for basic ACF functions without the need for additional plugins.
GenerateBlocks free and pro have support for a lot of ACF data, but not more advanced field types.
For more advanced functionality you’ll need to look at something like Cwicly if you want to go the Gutenberg route or Bricks if you want more of a builder like experience.

These are all available with the self hosted version of WordPress. It sounds like you’re using the commercial version of WordPress which has more restrictions on what can be used and installed.

I'm using Blocksy and I love it! I had a really hard time finding a block plugin that I liked. I felt like there were so many to choose from. I ended up with Generate Blocks, which I really love-especially for it's dynamic data. I didn't know about GeneratePress when I chose Blocksy, but I think Blocksy (pro) is awesome. It was so hard to choose.
My stack as well. So fast, flexible and reliable, it’s a dream come true.
Also recently grabbed a licence for Greenshift, which is very interesting, but I don’t have enough experience with it to decide whether I’d actually recommend it (esp. code quality etc.)
Is it better to ise elementor or gutenburg to customize these themes
This whole thing confuses me. I bought Blocksy pro, had a terrible time using it and had awful support so I returned it. I tried 2 pet oriented themes from themeisle and they didn't work. I then got elementor pro. Having a tough time but great support so slowly working through. I ended up with the hello child theme. Should I use a different theme to help with all my bugs and how does elementor interact with them?
I originally had a food blog and bought a theme from 17th ave. All I had to do was plug in my own info. It was mobile responsive. It's great but not for this new site I want. I am having a hard tome getting things tablet and mobile responsive and also ising containers. Should I get a theme and if so will all the work I have done be lost?

By landing page I assume you mean a page that doesn't include a header and a footer? If so, yes. You can disable those elements in the right side bar in Gutenberg for the page or pages you need.
It's a couple of simple check boxes. :)

With genertepress do you need to get the premium version?
If you want to take advantage of one of the best features it offers (Elements) you need the premium version.
But, you can still get a lot done with the free version.
Just a quick question, this Blocksy might be free but I still need the business account in order to install these plugins. This is correct isn't it. Cheers, this might be jsut a very random and stupid question but I just am starting.
I’m assuming you’re using WordPress.com instead of self hosting WordPress?
If that is the case, then you may need a certain type of account to be able to install additional themes or plugins.

@@oliveropitz2955 you will have more flexibility with a self hosted version of WordPress for sure. But just make sure you’re happy with the small amount of technical knowledge that comes with hosting services and choose one with dedicated WordPress hosting a good support and you should be fine. 👍💪

@@WPTuts Hello Paul, I have one more question and this is one about child themes, I am just wondering as this was not mentioned when you compared those themes. Blocksy has a child themes out of the box and suggests using them when trying to install a theme, while Kadence used to have the same set up but now Kadence doesn't offer it anymore. Is it because not many actually need it and it was confusing for many (more amature like me rather then web designers) to use child themes or is it that child themes can be implemented later if we come to the point where we need to make changes to the theme core itself? If not a child theme is not needed? Is that correct? Otherwise if we should use child themes than I would use Blocksy as it seems more straight forward to implemented. thx and sorry for such a long text

With these themes that let you import the demo template does that overwrite the content on your site?
It will if you check that option to remove content during the installation of the demo template.
If you disable that option, your original content will stay on the site.
Zion Builder recommends Blocksy, yet it isn't mentioned. Is there a reason why it's not mentioned? I can't see your link re: video Kadence & Kadence Blocks mentioned around 13.50

I'm not sure what you mean.
Blocksy is a WordPress theme that you install via the Appearance > Themes menu in the WordPress dashboard.
@@WPTuts it is only for a paid plan? I tried doing that and it says to upgrade to the Creator plan to access the theme install features.

In which case you would need a specific plan to install themes I believe.

Neve from themeisle is missing here. Neve is more popular than Kadence and Blocksy.
It's doesn't have much features in the free version like Kadence and Blocksy
It's considerably older than both Kadence and Blocksy and while it has some interesting features, I personally don't think it is as good as Blocksy.
Between Astra Pro and Blocksy Pro which one would you pick?
Blocksy would be my preference.
Kadence, honestly nothing can touch it at the moment.
Blocksy for me.
But Kadense is really good choice.
Neve from Themeisle is better from code quality to performance and flexibility
When I stepped away from Elementor about three years ago, I've tested all of these 4 themes... I bought Kadence and didn't regret it a single second. The whole Ecosystem, that comes with the full bundle is amazing!

It would be lovely if you focused on premium for a while. Or is premium just never worth it?
It's one of those things that if I focus on premium themes (or plugins) I end up with people moaning that I'm only after the affiliate commission.. 🙈

But I understand, thanks for the reply :) I've been developing with wordpress for about 3 years now and just finished a client site using Avada (usually use a well chosen theme with a client with Elementor). The optimisation process is usually a nightmare. Just want to find the right tool for being "semi-pro". You seem to gravitate towards GeneratePress lately so I'm thinking of pushing my next client onto that. Your'e one of my best resources so thank you for everything.
so many 'page builders', etc. all have kinks, and most have multiple plugin dependencies which also depend on 'pro' versions to function correctly. none work well with the native wordpress and almost all have a bait-to-pay bent. one function unless you pay per year. how about a one-time price for a plugin?
the bait-to-pay model is what sucks the most about modern wordpress.
Great content but you say "Go ahead" too much. You said it 8 times in a minute between 2:00 and 3:00.
All these templates are technologically impressive with the possibilities in combination with WordPress, but ultimately look completely the same in terms of graphic design. Too bad what web design has now become.
No ones is saying you have to use the starter templates. Use the theme and your own design skills and create something you feel is original.
Did exactly what you did with blocksy step by step and either your lying about it being free because you have a pro account or this is an old video that your lying about the release date BECAUSE 1) my edit screen looks nothing like your edit screen and 2) when I import the exact same template you did there is no demo data like yours to view or edit. All there is is a menu header bar and what looks like blog post thumbnails!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All i want is a free template to use as an online resume and I've been looking for 2 days now. Everything you click on and download removes all the demo content and requires you to build on your own. Then you come to a video like this that makes it appear its simply click, drag and drop ease.

There are no pro versions being used. If you’re having an issue with any of the themes, I’d suggest you reach out to the relevant support channels and request help and not come here ranting about me lying.
For starters, have you installed the Blocksy Companion plugin that you need to also install?
The dark editor in Blocksy is a simple switch at the bottom of the customiser screen.
I could go on, but you’re going to get more success finding out where the issue is via the official support channels. 🤷🏼♂️
