I love England so much and although I've been lucky to have been there a few times, I really would love to just pack up and move there (lol). Thank you for taking us along, Simon. I could almost smell the rain on the old stone buildings -- just lovely. And gargoyles -- I can't say enough about gargoyles -- majestic mystical horrible all at once.

Going on top of the bus and sitting on the front reminded me of going to Harry Potter studios except it was raining hard so we couldn’t see anything 😂. The York Ghosts shop is so cool! The Society of Alchemists shop is my kind of music vibe whilst shopping for magical treats, lol. The books with eyes are so cool 👀 What an amazing and lovely time to spend together. Sandra and I had the same first job! I was also a library Page. I put books back on shelves, made sure they were in the correct Dewey Decimal System order, and covered new books coming in! Lovely tour - thanks for sharing your experience with us!
I always wondered what the library was like when I walk past it from station to meet my friends for an afternoon, now I know and it’s amazing, I,m like Sandra I would live in there 😁, love York but the queue for the ghosts is mad! I'm heartened that they build new libraries in this age of e-books, though yours is a bit sterile looking...maybe add some color or art to those walls :) I recall York as such a lovely city but so crowded on your visit. Loved the rainbow umbrellas!

Beautiful library. All those people sitting in those lovely window chairs and not one of them actually reading a book (has bookreading been entirely replaced by laptops and phones?) You had to wait an hour and a half in a queue in the rain to go shopping!? Well, I never! lol.

Enjoyed your trip, I love York never been to Ghost shop. Did like the Haunted House when it was open, the shop was amazing downstairs. Tarot crystals books you name it they had it.( no queues either) Loved the Pit and Pendulum, also secret door. Thanks 😎
@@the_hermits_cave no not the same shop, it had a Red Devil on the side of the shop to your right as you were facing it. At first floor level. 👹it’s down stone gate and it’s a printers devil, just a clothes shop now. They did a ghost tour around the house above the shop.
