I got a lot of, “... you’re gonna work yourself out of a job...” when I was in the laborer’s union. I didn’t move up there at all but I think it was because of their poor attitude. However, it didn’t take long for me to get back into school after that experience.

Makes a shorter campaign overall to hire the smart(er) people, so you can explain what you want to do, and THEN let them tell you HOW to do it.
BUT maybe I'm the rare type who already knows WHAT to do... idk... ;o)

Great Subject Guys! On Deployment 06-08’ Iraq Decentralization was a key to our missions success. Platoon leaders left Everything up to their subordinates to get ready for combat missions; without ever checking on the success of preparations. Key reason for this was they had E4’s who refused to have failures with any battle systems. I was one of them.

There's a counterpoint to the question of not wanting to do something, there can be cases when a role is ill-defined or too broad to be done by a single person and lack of motivation to do certain parts of it may indicate that either the person doesn't fit the role or the role has to be revised and narrowed down or split up so it's done by multiple people instead. Willpower is a finite resource, if someone is tasked with doing a lot of things they don't do well or are unwilling to do, they are going to burn out and make things worse for everyone.
Disclaimer: I'm a sysadmin and I've encountered situations when I'm expected to do everything that's even tangentially related to IT, even though my best expertise is solving hard technical problems. I cannot do that if I'm also constantly on helpdesk duty and I'm expected to react rapidly to users' requests and install equipment for new employees. I don't believe that I'm being lazy when I want to delegate such relatively menial tasks to someone else, I'm willing to do them periodically but not to the complete exclusion of also improving the company's core infrastructure and preventing possible malfunctions ahead of time, and I can't focus on that if in the back of my mind I'm constantly aware that I may be interrupted at any moment.

Could you please open up some popups, or something lilke that in CA too? bc people might love to buy some masks but they will not if they need to put their cards online. There are having issues with banking and online orders due to glitches. Its not your fault , i didn't even bother trying for you guys, so its not about that at all, but I am trying to solve the problem. Can't solve it without an actual pathway forward. Online is a bad idea.
This is how that conversation goes: I am having problems with my account. There is some kind of glitch and its giving me a random error message./ Were you trying to shop online?/why does that matter? /its probably their website. ........... O_O,.........why is your ATM not working? we don't know we'll look into it./ is it a glitch again?/ were you trying to shop online?/no, I was trying to use the ATM!/we'll look into it.
You get the point? Its important not to HAVE to shop online, or connect online, or talk online. There has to be a real world option to the online option.

I don't know about his military style delegation... but if you're PAYING people to do a shitty job no one wants to do, then you're PAYING them to do it, it's in the open that the job is shitty and no one wants to do it, so that is WHY you're paying them, that is NOT lazy delegation or that you're lazy, but that you PREFER to pay to have it done instead of doing it yourself. That's it. So why would YOU have to go and "join" them to do it?? instead of spending the time to do something else of nothing at all, AFTER ALL YOUR PAYING THEM TO DO IT!!
And at least in the small business I had, decentralisation doesn't work, if you mean "everyone leads" then NO ONE is responsible if something goes and or doesn't get done. It's like communism or even socialism, no one owns anything so o one takes care of anything, building soon start to look like shit, in that case everyone should be caring for it, decentralisation, but no one does. If you as the boss don't leave clear and specific instructions as to what to do, when to do it and when you expect it to be finished, IT JUST DOESNT GET DONE. People will fuck around all day beeches they don't want to be seen as ass kissing the boss by actually getting things done, so no one is in charge so no one can tell another to get moving.... it is a disaster.
Or how specifically is "everyone supposed to lead" how can they lead if everyone is a leader.

  • @andrabook8758
    @andrabook8758 Před 3 lety

FYI, if you are working independantly right now and trying to help with the pandemic and you need to submit paperwork or intellectual property...........weeeekkkkkssss of wait time. Months I would say!
But no worries it gives you months to do other important things like have circular arguments with your bank. You thought you had access to your funds? LOOOOOL! yeah, no, not today. Today there are ''glitches'' which are telling you that its unavailable. Tomorrow maybe. Try again tomorrow.
but don't worry, this is not important. nope. not at all. So....if I spend 2 months waiting for the forms to become available and 2-3 other months waiting for a break in the gliches, i don't know do you think that might not be efficient?
This is me: 1. I can fix it, I can fix it! 2. tomorrow: nothing works. 3. go back and stress again the importance real life alternatives. *Very important.*
The highlight of my day is when they tell me it is not their responsibility to make sure it works. But they will still charge me if it doesn't.
I am not asking for anyone to do my work for me. The work is already done. But I need something to point to, some way to at least try to connect with people working on this so that it can get some traction. I am just asking for a pathway forwards. And to start EARLY. It is not relevant what the projections say for this. If we believe there might be a 2nd wave in the fall, or not. Bc you still need to start 5 months before that, bc it might just take you 5 months to get past step one of the paperwork process! Not sure why....but it will somehow. even though that makes zero sense.
I think you had videos with someone from Ottawa at some point. Not sure if they're still there, but it might be an idea to remind them to make the programs available in less than weeks, and to process applications in less than months. I know you know politicians on the US side.....same problem. Over 2 weeks wait time for reply to emails to clarify the process. ....running out of option for who to ask to help. This is too slow compared to the rate of infection! We are moving far too slowly and innefficiently. I know thinking that someone else will solve it makes everyone sleep better, it makes me sleep better, but its still a cop out. They may, they may not, It would be best to do everything we can tho, right? Why does it always have to be someone else who has to solve it??
