Got this one, extremely good value, basically a premium product.
I upgraded from the AW2721D to this bad boy and I can tell you I'm so glad I did. Firstly, there is no inverse ghosting when you set the response rate to super fast or extreme and secondly you can hit 280Hz on many games without issue. But the first reason is the most important. No ghosting at all! The only very minor downside is that it doesn't raise as high on the stand compared to the previous model.
Do they have alternative choices for someone like me who'd want the same specs but with a larger screen?
What graphic card do you use? because I have RTX 2080 and idk if I should go for AW2721D (because it has nvidia GSYNC) or for AW2723DF (it has only Gsync compability)
@@standuss117 I don't think it matters as long as it's one of the two.
@@standuss117 I have the 6800 XT and used to have the aw2721D. My brother has the aw2721D still and uses an rtx 3090. They both work identically and BOTH have inverse ghosting on the super fast and extreme response times. The AW2723DF is the better of the two models. I won't be surprised if Dell discontinued the Aw2721D
@@correctthatfilthygrammar not really. You will sacrifice the fast refresh rate for larger screen size.

I purchased same monitor it arrived damaged box was damaged and monitor cracked and box was wet , So the send a brand new arrived today its even worst its got water damage white stains inside the screen box was completely damaged. no idea what is going on at dell ??

I got this monitor last week, it took a lot of setting up to get the picture right but now its running really well. 280Hz is VERY noticeable over my previous 144Hz. I wall mounted mine on an arm. VESA (100 I think) does fit but you might need some spacer/pillars.
hey what settings did u use? my whites look kinda yellow can't seem to get it right
@@opinn90 I used Nvidia Control Panel to adjust the colour channels to my liking. Maybe increase your blue channel brightness a little if your whites are a bit yellow. Your PC might also be in night time mode, might be worth a google.

For the people that use this monitor, do you have any issues with screen flickering when you overclock the refresh rate to 280? Because on my Alienware ultra wide monitor I have screen flickering issues when I overclocked. I have to turn it back to native refresh rate inorder to fix the issue.

This could be an amazing monitor for the ps5 ?
I had a bug twice with this monitor where it goes black and will not come back on with a reset. Had to unplug it s power connector, count to 10, and plug it back in. I think it is to do with running games un full screen mode at 280Hz, if you tab out of game and try do something else too fast, the monitor bugs out. Hasn't happen again since I put Apex Legends in windowed. Has never done it with Sons of the Forest.

@@NeonXXP I think the issue is the stock firmware of the monitor. Once I updated it there's been no issues
Would you pick up this one over the Samsung G7 27 inch? This Alienware is 499 euro's right now. The Samsung G7 27 inch is only 389 euro's.
And now we just wait for a full review
I feel like that's a bit overpriced considering the gigabyte m27-q X exists, and it's still just 16 zones
Dell has really nice packaging for their monitors but they don't ship them inside another standard cardboard box to protect them during the shipping process. So they always get beat to ship during shipping. Doesn't make sense to me at all.

Just received that exact model today to pair with my alienware m15 r6 rtx3080 laptop which also has a 1440p 240hz display but since I don't have a DP adapter till tomorrow just running HDMI I'm getting 144hz at 1440p. Only sad part is it didn't come with a adapter for dp 1.4 to HDMI (thank Amazon I'll be getting it tomorrow) also just using HDMI it only supports 8bit color. When I use the DP 1.4 to HDMI would I be able to use 10bit color?? As I was confirmed by dell I will be able to get max 240hz at 1440p

You most likely have HDR enabled which will lock brightness controls.

Why you have Overheating, it's only in 280 hz Overclock Mode ?
Mine doesn't even get warm, even in HDR600 mode.

@@luks6436 I can't perceive any, but that depends on the game and the amount of motion blur you select ingame. But practically nothing, as it is touted as better performing than its predecessor AW2721D which was great. For example, fast scrolling a web page/forum (black background/white text) with text you can catch the letters going very fast.
Small tip regarding backlight being uneven on both sides. Take a piece of duct tape or sticker that leaves no residue after being removed and cover enough parts of digits to make it even.
Yes, it may look suboptimal, but taken your monitor is probably facing the wall all the time anyway it hardly matters. On the bright side backlight will be much more uniform.

The tiny bezels are nice but we are on the verge of oled 240hz 27” 1440p displays. I wouldn’t pay over $400 for this tier of monitor now
I mean I don’t mind it at all playing for this especially this is clocked at 280hz overdrive. Also oled that came out recently are expensive asf.

I upgraded to this from the S2721DG. I see pretty noticeable color improvements, and the jump from to 165hz to 280hz is noticeable in FPS titles especially. Response times are incredible, the bezels are improved, and the peak brightness is higher than the 2721 as well. This display is also compatible with Dell Display Manager 2.x, which is nice if you have multiple devices connected to the display inputs.
This monitor has only one USB upstream. So what good is it?

*This is an amazing display but why would I get this over the upcoming 240hz OLED panels that LG is about to drop? I myself just picked up LG GL850-B 27" 1440p 144hz NANO IPS display for $235.00 on Cyber Monday, only real difference I see is that mix of glossy/matt finish and 200 nits more of brightness. I still get 10bits of color @144hz and don't need a 3090 or better to drive it.*
Biggest reason I got this over the LG OLED is because I already have 2 OLED devices that currently are suffering from burn in and I don’t feel like dealing with that on my PC monitor
When you plan to work on documents/texts. OLED would do you a disservice or a lot of inconvenience.
