The world has been a lot to deal with this year, with that comes a lot of lingering negative energy; making it a perfect time to cleanse your home. But what is house cleansing and how do you do it? Today I wanted to sit down and talk about it.
Please note that you should do your own research to find out which herbs and methods you want to use based on your own traditions, everyone will be different, the more information you have, the better x

when you can’t *burn* herbs, boil them in water! use the humidity to cleanse like smoke - just with a water blessing. you can also use blessed water!!

@@lilypotter9476 whoever you feel is qualified to do so. I’m a non religious- I bless the water myself. If you have a priest that you trust you can absolutely ask them to do so for you.Just make sure they either know your intentions or do so to naturally enhance the water’s properties. Look up water blessings- if you’re of a certain religion you can absolutely write for example “how to do a jewish water blessing”. Good luck!

I'm glad you said that. I'm Native American- Hunkpapa Lakota and it bothers me to see so many other people who identify as Native online often behave like gatekeepers over sage. White sage is grown by a western U.S. tribe and they harvest and sell it. However sage grows around the world and because it's used to cleanse and in a spiritual way I don't agree with all the arguments over its use. I would rather have people connecting with spirit using sage then to be selfish and claim that it's cultural appropriation in the U.S. I know you're in England but you mentioned America and Walmart. 🙂 Smudging is so minor as part of traditional ceremony. If it disappeared from the Earth traditional ceremonies would adapt, find other herbs and still go on. We're not a large homogeneous group apart from the online community. I appreciate your channel and the information you share. Thank you

I love little sandalwood sticks for smoke cleansing. My coven and I will divide the work up - one focuses on pushing out negative energy (usually with a bell), one calls in positive energy (with a candle or singing bowl), and one closes each portal (doorways, windows, and mirrors) with the smoke in clockwise motion in front of each portal.
Then we fortify the property barrier with salt and whatever tells us to use it.

What I do (when I remember), and it really helps... I do a daily incense stick, usually in the morning with my cup of coffee, and then I do a smoke cleanse with loose herbs bi weekly, monthly if I don't remember. When I do the daily incense, I notice that everyone seems to get along better, and my anxiety is calm.

I grow berggarten sage and I like to make them into bundles and dry them at home. White sage is over harvested and often unethically sourced so I highly suggest not buying it and making your own sage bundles if possible or substituting it with rosemary instead. Alternatively my favorite way of cleansing a space is with sound, using a bell or a drum is common for this, so that is also a good option,

Some people have raised the idea that good smells keep in "bad entities" or bad energies in while strong unpleasant smells chase them away. What do you think?

Does the top to bottom..back to front include the attic?
( I'd rather avoid the attic for a good reason)
Would opening the windows & doors before one does a house cleansing be a good idea ?

It would be more fluid for me to do top to bottom, back to front then front to back, and out the back door.
Is there any significance in it being the front door or is back door okay?

Walmart here in the states carries incense, both stick and cones . Normally its the Gonesh brand (about 2.00) along with a "walmart" discount brand (1.00)

Walmart is considered a "super store" or a "big box store" I believe, they basically sell everything from groceries, to clothing, shoes, home goods, toiletries, pet food, cleaning supplies, fabric, craft supplies... seriously, they have sooooo much stuff.... car stuff and toys and even a gardening section.

Will smoke cleansing also chase out good spirits? One of my cats passed last week and I want him to be able to keep visiting if he wants to.

    Question:
does anyone know something about saining? Yknow, the Scottish way of cleansing? I myself am from Scottish descent and I have considered smudging, but every time I just feel kind of weird and like it’s wrong since it’s Native American cultures. I have done some research about smudging and have found a few Native Americans say that it’s fine as long as you’re being respectful, but I still kind of want to add my own background into my craft.
I’ve also tried researching saining but can’t find much since it’s not as popular as cleansing with incense or smudging, but I just really wanna learn. So, does anyone know anything about saining? If you do, please comment it :)
