Good review, looks pretty good as a tripod. Is the peak design one or ulanzi clone much more stable do you know?

Thanks for that! I haven’t actually used the peak design, but much the same as the Ulanzi. Although they both feel slightly less stable with the centre column raised, I’m still always happy to raise them up and never had any issues.

Is there a play with the panning on yours even when tightened? Mine does and it really bothers me.

I've just bought a Sirui AT-125 Carbon Fibre Tripod with B-00K Ball Head. It was $299 AUD (About $190 USD). I think it was worth the little extra compared to the Smallrig tripod. It's featherweight, has 5-section legs that deploy with a single twist of each leg. Goes lower than the Smallrig tripod, almost as tall (within an inch) and folds down to 38cm. More stable than my last Carbon Fibre travel tripod, and cheaper too.

Lighter is not always better. Heavier tripods are more stable

@@TheEryk03 I have heavy tripods that I use for formal shoots, product and studio work. For travel and walking the streets all day then lighter is definitely the priority.
