60 Degree V-Grove Bit amzn.to/321y9pL
Flattening Bits amzn.to/3a1t3OJ
Finally get to do some things to the CNC. In this video I go over how I set up to flatten the spoilboard and then create a grid in it. I’m using the program Carveco Maker to create the G-code to operate the CNC. This is a learning process for me since this is my first CNC. So far I am enjoying it,
Thank you so much for explaining the process in such a manner that a CNC novice, such as myself, can understand it. Your explanation was great.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching.
Thank god for Anderson, was ready to send my back my cnc.
Glad it could helped. Thanks for the comment.
Thank you so much for your videos. You are such a great instructor and actually made this understandable for me!
You're very welcome! Thanks for watching.
Great video. About to start my own CNC journey myself. I found this super helpful and easy to understand.
Thank you. As with most new things I was a bit intimidated about getting the CNC, as there is a bit to learn and it can seem overwhelming, but when you take it in small steps its not as intimidating. Thanks for your comment and for watching.
Very helpful. I created a square though instead of 4 different lines & putting in the measurements for them & I think everything went good.
Glad it was helpful. Sounds to me you created it for how you work and for your needs. That is one of the great things I keep harping about and love about woodworking, taking ideas from others and adapting them to how you want things, there really is no right or wrong. Thanks for your comment and have fun in the shop.
Thank you! I sure wish I would have found your channel before making my software purchase. I too have an Onefinity and wish I had purchased the same software as you so I could tag along with you learning.
Thank you. When you've never used a CNC before there is a big learning curve. So far I am very pleased with the purchase of the Onefinity and choosing to use Carveco Maker. I don't know how different each software is, all I can say is get out to the shop and make some mistakes (I sure have) and have fun. Thanks for watching.
Very helpful. Thank you very much.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for the comment.
Backing track: Be excellent to each other, and … Party on dudes!!!
Thank you 🙏
You’re welcome 😊. Thanks for watching.
I have onefinity woodworker as well I purchased Vcarve desktop. It works well but can only use 24in work area.... I think I need to check out carveco...
Thanks for the comment. Every program will be a bit different, just find one that works for you. So far I am very pleased with Carveco Maker.
When I try to create a tool path for the grid an alert comes up telling me "Vector intersections were found in the selection. Please identify and correct using the Vector Doctor" I don't know how to correct.
Thanks for the comment. That seems to be an issue many are having. I found a video that I believe can help better than I can in writing. czcams.com/video/pp2-ygA2xQA/video.html
So I did everything you did in the video the only problem is when I go to create a tool path it says that I have Crossing vectors. What did kind of bit did you use? What tool path did you use?
For the grid I used a 60 degree V groove bit, and 2D profile toolpath. Hope that helps.
Thanks for the great video. I'm a newbie to CNC's and Carveco. I'm also having the same issue as others. When creating the toolpath for the grid, it keeps saying vector intersections were found. When using the vector doctor, it shows the red circle around every intersection, which is true. But since it's one continues toolpath, that should be fine I would think,. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for your comment. Here is a video that may answer your question czcams.com/video/pp2-ygA2xQA/video.html
I found my issue. I when creating the toolpath for the grid, I was selecting a V-Bit toolpath vs a profile toolpath.
Good video but I am having a problem. I am getting an error message saying Vector intersections were found. Says I need to fix this with the Vector Doctor. I am also using the 60 degree V bit. I have followed the video 4 times now with the same error message. I don't understand why crossing over lines is a problem. I am new to CNC so my knowledge is small.
Don't know if I can explain in writing, but I did find a video that might help you. czcams.com/video/pp2-ygA2xQA/video.html
Don't feel like the Lone Ranger on this, I was having the same issue. Thanks for watching.
How did you add your Flattening bit in your tool list? I’m new at this and just got the x50 journeyman
Thanks for your comment.
Great video, but after drawing the grid lines and trying to "calculate now" it keeps saying vector intersections were found and won't save it / calculate it. Any advice on how to get past this problem with vector intersections?
Hard to say without seeing what is going on.
@@AndersenWoodCrafts the X and Y grid is all one continuous polyline in your video, right? When I do the same thing step by step and try to calculate the tool path it brings up the window saying "intersecting vectors" and won't calculate. Have you had this happen before?
@@timothykyle8068 Correct, it is a continuous line and needs to be connected at the end.
Keep it going... I'm #16474 I'm thinking mid august.
Was 5 months to get mine.
Great video, I did everything up to create tool path and I git "No tool path was created for the current tool." Any ideas
Sorry for the late reply, I'm in the middle of moving and don't have internet at the house yet. I am also sorry that I don't have an answer for you.
@@AndersenWoodCrafts Thanks for the reply. I will keep trying and when I have the answer I will let you know. I hope your move goes well.
Whats the depth of cut on the grid?
I believe it was 1/16". I think the next time I may go a little shallower at around 1/24" or 1/32". Thanks for watching.
You sir have a radio voice, wish you did audio books lol
Thank you. In fact I have done 1 audio book www.amazon.com/Organized-Crime-Tentacles-Prostitution-Laundring/dp/B07QK3K5WT/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=kirk+andersen&qid=1622908792&sr=8-6
Maybe stay the same speed?
is there a reason you chose carve co over other options? This is the biggest thing for me. is this worth 15 a month over fusion360s free?
Hard to please everyone. But I do take into consideration of comments made. And thank you for the comment.
For me, in the short time I have been using it, it is worth the $15 monthly subscription fee. It is fairly easy to use and can create 3D relief carvings, which is one of the main reason I got the CNC in the first place. But yes, as you mentioned, there are other options available that are free. As this is my first CNC and am not a computer geek, I wanted something that was easy to learn. Thanks again for your comments.
just curious what is the point of the grid?
Enables you to align the work piece.
do you have the gcode you can send me?
Send me an email with the subject "G-code."
im just curios why u didn't make a square , im sure you know why lol
ok
Can you speed up a bit?
Thanks for the comment.
slow down a little.
Thanks, will take that into consideration.
What is the grid used for?
The grid is not a necessity, just makes it easier to line up the work piece. Thanks for the comment.
