He's really helping Murray and getting a lot of assists because he's very unselfish and he wants him to get hot but when Murray isn't shooting well and Jokic is playing facilitator and not shooting much they fall behind which is what has been happening throughout these playoffs.
Hence why he's only having between 5-8 FGA in the first half and it's only been 5 a couple of times and at least one or them are often offensive rebounds. And then in the 3rd quarter he doubles his FGA and ends up with about 17-19 FTA in total.
It's not ''garbage time and it's not ''stat padding.'' Everything is flowing through him. How can you people not know this? He does this often. He's not being contained by the defence he's choosing not to shoot much. Hence why he keeps passing up scoring opportunities
If he wants to be aggressive and go to the paint he can drop 20 in the first half. You can't stop him when he wants to do so lol. He's their best scorer, passer, rebounder, playmaker, their most consistent, much more so than anyone else on their team, and he's the best or one of the very best in all those categories in the league. Denver finished with the exact same record as OCT this season despite Murray missing 23 games. I love Murray but he has generally played and been shooting crap by his standards these playoffs. He's had two good whole games and scored a great buzzer beater and one other game winner. He's injured obviously. He shot 3-18 in game 2.
Jokic is below his best form but he has put up the numbers damn near every game and has been playing very well by everyone's else's standards. Jokic is #14 for points, #1 for assists, #2 for rebounds and he was #1 for total points, assists and rebounds again out of everyone after the Lakers series.
Murray is great and I love him but Jokic is not only their best player he's the best in the world and that's what the real motive for this hate is. Of course Jokic needs his #2 to perform too and so do Denver. As great as Jokic is, it's a team sport and Murray is a great #2 but Jokic is by far the most consistent member of their team and one of the most consistent in the league.
