It was his last game of the season with practically four and half minutes. He was playing, and trying and then got ejected. i bet you'd have the same reaction.

That was kinda bullshit... Zegras got hit from behind, then got ragdolled by Danault, didn't actually retaliate for once.. then at 0:15 he gets ragdolled again this time from behind by Trevor Moore(even more dangerous when a player isn't ready)....then proceeds to get tossed out of the game. I can see why he's pissed. I think making him out to 'throw a tantrum' is a little unfair in this circumstance.
Im guessing danault was retaliating from the slash on the hands at 0:56 ?

I don't think he disregarded it but it certainly didn't start the scrum. Also a difference in plays sure it's a penalty but do you cross check a guy from behind every time something isn't called
@@davidwood1100 well this video doesn’t show much, but basically after Zegras swung his stick down towards Denault’s hands, Denault follows him pretty much to the bench and all hell breaks loose

Coming from someone who spent most of his playing days being restrained by a ref, I agree with the ejection completely. Linesman are in trying to break this up, not to mention with 4:35 left of a pointless game, and Trev continues to push FROM OUTSIDE THE PILE. He knocks over an off-balance, preoccupied linesman, trying to keep the shit going with his man. That’s technically abuse of an official, and there’s no reason for it. Especially not in the final 5 minutes of an 82nd game in the western conference.

I'm as annoyed by Zegras as anyone, but this situation is dumb. The slash was unnecessary, but in the way that like 10 things a game are unnecessary. So Denault responds by escalating it from a 4/10 to an 8/10, Trevor doesn't appear to do anything during the scrap, and he gets kicked out? I could be missing something (s), but it doesn't seem right

Slashing at someone’s hand the last game of the season from a non playoff team earns a push into the gate. Duck commentators always gloss over things like that.

Zegras is a great young player. Trouble is he knows it and is seemingly becoming full of himself. It's going to bite him in the butt before too long. Zegras attempting to slash Denault’s stick and missing doesn’t justify Denault retaliating a minute later as Zegras was skating to the bench. And it had absolutely no bearing on the ejection. You people have all lost your mind. Stripes were out of pocket.

I am a huge Ducks fan and I CAN’T STAND TREVOR ZEGRAS. He two handed Philip Daneault and then skated away like the turd he is. His tantrums are not surprising in that game because hopefully the ducks pick 1 or 2 getting Bedard or Fantilli. Both superior players. Zegras is in for a rude awakening when he finds out he’s not getting the money he thinks he is this summer. He is the most annoying player in the NHL.

I'm so curious about Zegras' future.
He gets treated like some kind of amazing superstar just because of his willingness to try trick plays but when you look at the stats and plays outside of highlights he's not actually anything all that special. Sure Anaheim sucks and maybe that's why his numbers suck as well but that's exactly what makes me so curious about what will happen down the road.

Most overrated player in the NHL. Skill only player who cant defend, yet he's tied for 75th in points during the highest scoring season in years. No wonder the Ducks are last if this is the face of their franchise LOL!
Kids 22 and plays for one of the worst teams in the league. If you compare him to the U22 in the league he is 4th in scoring playing for a trash team. Trailing only Hughes, Stutzle and Cozens, I'd say he is showing great potential.

This is Zegras' draft+3 year. He has 23G and 42A for 65 points, leading the the worst team in the league this season (58pts). Lets look at 2016-17. Colorado was the worst team in the league that year, led by Nathan MacKinnon, who was then in his own draft+3 year. And who had 16 goals and 37 assists in 82 games. Which was good for 81st in the league that year.
Don't count him out just yet.

Honestly, I dislike zegras more than I hate marchand, but less than I hate Binnington. Marchand at least backs up his antics. Zegras and binnington hide behind team mates and refs. I don't get why the league posters him, he's a wuss.
Marchand does not back up his antics. He will fight the players he chooses and is able to get the jump on. But hardly ever will you see him square up with a guy he should actually answer to.
