No wireless apple carplay??? That's pretty bad. Even the Honda civic has wireless
I just had a brand new CX-9 as a rental, and after 30 minutes of trying to find the settings, I was not able to find wireless CarPlay. Unfortunately I do not carry a USB-A with me and this car does not appear to have a USB-C port. Seriously. It has two USB-A… why not make the other one USB-C - the new standard?
@@eedre4864 I prefer to blame apple for the change. Think of every other situation where apple has screwed its customers -- airplanes, hotels, furniture with usb plugs, wall outlets in home, etc etc. Apple is the devil here
@@amandawood9997 I just rented a brand new Chevy Equinox (a less expensive class vehicle) with both USB C and wireless CarPlay. It paired with my phone without me doing anything but turning on the vehicle. It's Mazda's choice to neglect to update their products to modern technology... but kind of a stupid one if you ask me.
@@eedre4864 that’s pretty awesome tbh. Didn’t even know that was out there. All cars need to upgrade to only USB-C and Apple CarPlay, let the usb a users get an adapter, it’s only like $10 anyways. you can’t adapt a usb a to c cause the output for the C is much greater, so the adapter might work for your newer iPhone/android but will charge slower.
@@Dolomite1 I'm cool with USB A, just also include USB C. To not make that little change in design to something as expensive as a vehicle is lazy. Other than the technology, the CX-9 was comfortable, has sharp looks, and enough power. But I would not personally buy a new vehicle without wireless CarPlay. The infotainment system in general was also hard to use since it is not touchscreen and relies on like three buttons to navigate down by the shifter. Even finding the radio tuner was not intuitive or straightforward.
My CX 5 have a USB port for connecting Apple carplay but doesnt have a USB c port. i have a USB c port for my iphone 13 pro. How do you connect to carplay?
You don’t need a usb-c to use it. It just optimizes the charge. A regular old cord still works
The connectivity option is not coming up
What happens if it randomly stops connecting? My phone won’t connect even when connected to cord or bluetooth. I’ve checked my phone settings as well. Should I factory reset the car?
Mine has also done the same. I brought the car new & no problem connecting. 12 mths later my ipod wont work, car shows ipod is connected but nothing. Im just going to take car into Mazda to see what they say.

What do you mean when u say Hit home?
I plugged my phone up & no Apple car play came on my screen.
Check your CarPlay settings on your iPhone
