40:14 Final thoughts - Jak na to + styl
2004 looks like a Gunny Sack dress with less trimmings and ribbons. My daughter used to love them. My goal used to be that she would wear it at least as many hours as it took me to sew it.
I've never heard of that. Thank you. I'm going to look out up.
I’ve ever been a fan of Vogue patterns, I’m not sure who they design for, but this video just reinforced my thinking! I love the way you describe your thoughts and I understand not looking for the 70’s or 80’s coming back 🤷🏼♀️
😂 I quite often like Vogue patterns, although they don't always fit my everyday life, but this drop wasn't great. I do NOT understand why we're bringing the 80s back. Maybe the 70s or 90s,but let's not redo the 80s. 😂
I agree that V2008 is amazing! I was cracking up when you said you don’t care for the 80’s and 90’s - I’m totally here for them! That’s the best part of sewing, there are so many pattern choices, and the retro/vintage ones open up all new horizons! Thanks for the helpful video.
Exactly! It's the beauty of sewing. We're only limited by our own imagination.
I’m 75 years young, and most of the patterns I didn’t like! I didn’t like them then, and I don’t like them now! It’s pronounced go-day or go-days! I love hearing you describe patterns, you have such a beautiful voice and a great sense of humor!❤️
Thank you! Well at last you're consistent! This release was just all over the place for me. And thank you on the pronunciation.
I bought the DVF pattern in 1975 when you could buy DVF fabric and make the dress for $25. The ready to wear dresses were $75. If you bought both the pattern and the fabric you also got a DVF Vogue tag to sew in your garment. I made a bunch of them. The size 8 pattern is long gone and the dresses were too small years ago. So I think I might have to buy the the new pattern in my size.
Thanks for sharing. Amazing that they included the label! I think it's time for you to make more!
There labels were for all of the designer Vogue patterns at upscale deparment stores that also sold that designer's fabric.
Yes, its time to make some more!
I love the way you review patterns! 😅 I'm thinking those suits are looking towards Easter/spring brunch situations.
When you said "now we're back to everyday clothes..." I thought, what about Vogue is ever "everyday"? They are always extra, often for no good reason! 😂
😂 Thank you. You're right, many of their patterns are over the top!
I really enjoyed this video, your honesty and humor shines through, thank you🥰
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
I love the emerald green pleated pants and the lime green dress with the tie back (although I have no use for it). Thanks sew much for another excellent video.
You're welcome. I love the chartreuse dress and I'm so sad I have no use for it.
I love your videos! Even on patterns I'm not super in to, I learn a ton about how to read the patterns and line drawings. Thanks so much for doing these!
I'm so glad you enjoy them! Even more so that you learn something! Thank you for letting me know.
I purchased the pattern and fabric for V2000. I’m looking forward to making it!
I'd love to see yours. I've seen so many amazing versions already.
Hi Tiffany. I just purchased Vogue 2000 today(3/29/2024). Amazon has it on sale for $20.84.
Awesome. Thanks!
@@TipStitched You’re welcome.
Thanks for the review! There’s a few gems in there!
Definitely. I may grab a couple
Hi Tiffany! It's just like Walmart during the holidays. They have valentine's items out at Christmas!😮 Thanks for sharing the Spring releases.
Thats true. I know some sew ahead so that their wardrobe is ready when the season changes. I, however, sew for the current weather. 😂
You are spot on with your assessment..except I love 80s style although I was a mere babe 😊. The DVF replica I ordered cuz I spent 30 years trying to recreate from other wrap dress patterns. I would love the original however this is close enough and the price point is right. Love ❤️ the review. New sub as well.
Thanks for subscribing! ♥️ I need to order it too as I don't think it will be in stores. We can agree to disagree about the 80s 😂
@@TipStitched 👍🏿
You're commentary had me rolling 😂 I agree this wasn't their best drop
😂 😂 😂 Thanks Deja
It was a good trip down memory lane. Really don’t see women wearing most of these however, even if they are seriously edited on the embellishments. Will not wear anything with a back ties around my neck! Seen too many elevators or flirty men grab them. I’ve got plenty of wrap dress patterns without the DVF label. Thanks.
Yes this release is largely a miss for me.
The long red dress (2009) reminds of the red dress in Pretty Woman - minus the sleeves. lol
A lot of those patterns give me ‘mother of the bride/groom’ vibes. Or ‘Prom gown’ vibes. If you had something to sew for a Spring formal event, now would be the time to be looking.
I see it! I actually expect spring patterns from Vogue to lean formal as it's wedding and prom season, but it didn't feel balanced. I agree if you have a formal event you're good, otherwise no.
The vintage patterns mostly look like long square dance dresses.
Yes! I agree
V2004 and V2005 are dead ringers for the Gunne Sax dresses we wore in the 1970’s. A lot of the patterns in this collection reference past decades.
Thank you for that lesson. Just googled Gunne Sax and you're totally correct!
Will you be at dcfrocktails?
Unfortunately no
I personally don't gravitate toward vogue patterns. I do have a few vintage ones but I would not buy any new ones. I do like those lounge pj's but I agree with you about the zipper. Why?
I have liked Vogue in the past, but this release is a miss for me. I would totally wear that outfit out, just don't call it a lounge set. 🤷🏾♀️
2005 looks very 1940s
I must not like 40s fashion.
Milking a cow ruffles. I'm every woman shoulder pads. Fry it up in a pan vibe😂😂😂😂😂😂 too funny
V2008 would be a pretty prom dress.
Agree V2009 would be better sleeveless. Or maybe a softer sleeve. Flutter sleeve maybe?
I just call them like I see them 😂😂😂
The sleeves are doing too much (for me) on v2009.
Sorry, but I find all of the new releases boring and uninspired. I'll be shopping my stash this year, or going the Indie route.
I do find myself looking more and more to indie patterns.
Your presentation was good, but the patterns.....Not.
Ha! This was certainly not one of my favorite releases. Thanks for watching!
