      scale is in amount equal to tnt. the miles thing is a problem since at this scale, the thickness of the atmosphere is the issue and "size" as you requested is pointless. anything over 150megatons becomes an issue to classify in scale of miles because of this

      The scale is way off anyway, so it wouldn’t be of much educational benefit. The blast radius is about an order of magnitude too big for the listed yield.

    This would be really good it the satellite imagery was high resolution.

    The B41 was the most efficient nuclear device ever. It only weighed around 5 tonnes but had a blast Yield of 25 megatons
    while the Tsar weighed 27 tonnes and had a yield of 50 megatons or 100 megatons in dirty configurations.

      From the US perspective, It was never a competition for the biggest. Castle Bravo target yield was 5mt. The unexpected reaction with litium 7 trippled the yield making it the worst nuclear accident in history

      They exgerate some, the real energy from that asteroid was more on the order of 1000 to 10,000 gigatons, got to keep in mind the creator made was only about 150 miles wide, of course with such ridiculous sized explosions much energy escape in to space so conceivably it could have been a little more but most certainly not 10 or times greater.

    I appreciate the gesture and effort but feel like I have no idea of comparative scale whatsoever nor do I get how big or devastating the explosions would be on the cities they dropped on, a small picture for the city doesn’t do it any justice.

Russian Tsar bomb is capable to destroy any kind of big cities spontaneously. In addition, USA is slightly less forceful in terms of nuclear weapon.

    I dunno about this video. For one, it's had to compare because there is no scale other than kt or mt, or side by side comparison. But also, the animation shows Tsar Bomba's compression shock wave hitting Michigan from New York. It would travel even half that distance.

    It's London, derived from the ancient Roman name for the city Londonium, not Londan, I should know I'm a Londoner. 😆
    The two bombs that were dropped on Japan during the Second World War, were denonated in mid air.
    Even detonating all those bombs, would not equal the explosion caused by the Chixalub event that killed the dinosaurs.

      Over tsar Bomba type weapons send all excess energy into space. It's a waste of material to make large bombs. Multiple smaller bombs do more ground level damage. Unless you want to brag about how much you blew up space. 🤷
