- I picked up 1 Ceres Head 20 Gold French Franc (.1867 gold) and 1 Lucky Angel Gold French Franc (.1867 gold) via Apmex on Ebay taking advantage of the 10% Ebay bucks promotion and got the coins at a very low premium.
Very cool additions, G! I think they fit that niche between 1/10 and 1/4 oz nicely.

They are very cool coins. Widely held and very sought after in terms of fractional world gold coins. I think I have about 7-8 french francs now. If I can get gold on the dips, I like to buy these.

I'm catching up on a few vids myself. I put in an order on Thursday to Monarch Precious Metals. Ordered 3 ten ounce poured bars and one 5 ounce. I also ordered a Kilo Geiger from JM Bullion. Good prices. Great to see silver and gold jump up on Friday.
I have two bars from MPM, and several 100 gram geigers, nice pieces. Gotta order 10 more 2012 silver libertads...I put 40 of them into 2 new tubes and realized they store 25 each. Absolutely, good to see gold jump, probably because of that Swiss referendum. People getting worried about the currency devaluations, it seems. Maybe if the Swiss vote goes through, others will follow. If it does not, gold will probably crash back to $1000-1100. I am working on a cash out refi right now...maybe take some $$$ out, lengthen out our term back to 30 years, reduce payment by about $300. I am trying to convince my wife maybe to sell some securities at high, and buy PMs at "lows"...but they are doing really well so I am just riding the tide.

They made the Ceres head in 1849 too, but it is the rarest. Great picks!
Thanks for watching and pointing this out. I thought they only made this coin for two years. I just looked it up and you are absolutely right. I appreciate you pointing this out. It's funny, on the Apmex site it says 2 years, but this is clearly inaccurate.

Hi StackMaster G... I just got my first Lucky Angel coin today it is marked 1890 and seems to be in near perfect condition. Do you know if this coin was also re-struck later? I got mine from Silver Gold Bull dealer. I wanted this coin for a long time... hope to get a Rooster one day and maybe the Ceres Head...

The Ceres head gold franc is reasonably priced for such an old coin, considering that it circulated before the Napoleonic period.
I agree. I'm very happy to add this to my collection of 20 French Francs. It was actually labeled as in XF condition. I paid $249, but got 10% Ebay bucks ($24.90), so it was a no brainer. I appreciate you watching and commenting MrMonkeySwag96.
19876 ! No it circulated well after Napoleon first (1802/1815) and Napoleon III (1852/1870) for the currencies ;)

I'm trying to get my portfolio up to about 8% PMs. I'm probably at about 4% right now, so I will continue buying until I reach the 8% and may even go to 10% considering how cheap PMs are now.
