Love the assortment of gold.
As I'm learning more about gold, especially gold coins, I'm leaning more towards the gold and alloy mixture kinds (e.g. American eagle, krug, Mexican, etc). They are more resistant to scratches unlike the 0.9999 or 24 karat types. Having flipped quite a few gold coins, the bullion dealers really will ding you if you bring in a say a Canadian Maple with scratches. The Maple is gorgeous, but very susceptible to scratches, since it's 24 karat.

Very impressive gold stack. I really like your Kim Thanh gold bars because my family is from Vietnam. An interesting fact about the Kim Thanh bars is that they are not weighed in troy ounces but are denominated in taels. Taels is a Chinese weight unit equivalent to 1.2 ounces. Btw, I'm planning to upload vids of my full gold stack in the near future.

If this is what you had five years ago... Wow... I wonder what you have now and the value... well... it just broke U.S. $2,000.00 per ounce today... so you have done well... I am still a relative newbie... (less than 3 years)... on a tight budget I still have less than 8 ounces in the gold... hope to get more... You really do have some wonderful gold coins... I don't have many old coins but one of my favourite coins I bought is the new Perth Mint Dragon rectangle gold ounce ... Well I liked it so much I bought two of them.
7 year later i am curious if you kept on stacking and what your collection is now . Also during these times, how inspired you were

Very nice stack! I just started getting into gold a bit (when it drops under $1200/oz.) I was able to score some deals recently using 5x ebay bucks on items that were not listed under the bullion category. I also used ebates and paid with discounted ebay gift cards or the ebay credit card. All had free shipping, so I ended up getting them for under spot. I am stacking discounts and coupons in order to stack gold. Most of it is fractional European pieces. Someday I will get the big boys!
I'd say about 5-7 oz of my stack came fro 5x ebucks deals combined with ebates. Very smart way to stack!
