Top 10 BEST Girl VS Girl Duels in Yugioh
My favourite Girl vs Girl duel is Aki Vs Misty Round 2 and the backstory of how Misty became a Dark Signer was revealed properly during that duel. She blamed Aki for the death of her brother, Toby when instead it was Divine’s fault and then they both become friends after the Dark Signer arc concluded. Though Round 1 was good too especially Aki’s reaction to seeing Misty’s Earthbound outside of the building.

I would have liked to see both Téa vs Mai and Rebecca vs Vivian in the list. The Téa vs Mai duel may not be the best but I loved the message behind it and makes Mai look like such a good friend.
The message from the Tea vs Mai duel was more powerful than most of these duels combined. Agreed with that.
Also because Tea is the best duelist in the entire series as she's the only one with 100% win rate lol

Akiza vs Misty... This setup and the Dark Signers Arc was a statement in Yu-Gi-Oh Series and 5D'S in general. Romain's Rush Duels were great just couldn't touch Akiza's peak. Asuna and Tiger had an amazing story to their Rush Duel.
I would´ve loved to see the Rebecca/Vivian duel here, because of the way how Rebecca wins this duel. A strategy rarely used in the anime´s history
And It Introduced the activation first rule too. Great duel and better than most on this list to me.
Rebecca duels are surprisingly good. She actually often displays actual skill, even if she loses. The exception is against Valon...
I think yuzu should have used crystal Rose's effect more often than just a few duels. They sadly made her a damsel in destress/cheerleader role in the anime.
Loved the line in the dub. Rio said that she was going to win sooner than she planned
I loved Asana vs Tiger
Tiger has a gruff/stern almost ice queen personality, but Asana saw the real her (loved their dub nicknames for each other in Asalina and Teolina)

Side point - Technically, Yuzu embarrassed herself in her first duel with Masami. She dove for an Action Card…. only to realise it was a reflection 😂😂

During Rebecca's duel against Vivian they explained how chains work.
Asana vs Tiger somewhat rivalry reminds me a bit of Tokoha vs Rin from Cardfight Vanguard...
Love how Sevens just completely shifted the whole concept of female leads. Along with female duelist in general. More duels, more personality, along with just overall growth. The bar of character development + screen time set by Romin will be hard to beat.
Romin had a lot of shoes to fill in, for everything that akiza setup and picking up the slack for the track record the series unfortunately has with female leads and she while not perfect absolutely delivered
Romin was awsome and I hope she comes to duel links one day
Although her strategy involved sacrificing life points which is quite risky
Girl vs Girl duels have always been my favorite tbh. I feel like watching their duels are a little more exciting and we get to see some incredible plays. Their decks can also say a lot of them which is why I fell in love with decks like Black Roses and Lunalights
It's crazy how few girl vs girl duels there were. Looking back Alexis should have gotten to duel Tanya and Camula. Those wins would've been great for her character and if I remember correctly I think Chazz was the only character to defeat a member of the shadow riders besides Jaden.
She beat titan tho
And she could beat Alice.
I'm a bit biased since Aki is one of my favorite characters of all time, but I really think both her duels against Misty and her duel against Sherry were phenomenal.
It just sucks sherry wasn't playing as her normal self and relied on ZONE s power to fuel her rather than her own strength she clearly had
Love those little snapshot edits in Misty vs Aki round 1 and Blue Angel vs Vyra. And of course the MJF "MID" insert.
I agree 100% that yuka is a female version of yuma she even says Let’s high six the sticks which to me is her version of let’s high five the sky, plus thanks for the early birthday gift Dylan since I’ll be turning 42 August 18th
If I have my top 5:
5 - Romin vs Yuka Baseball theme is so fun.
4 - Masumi vs Yuzu Round 1, too short but see how Masumi is dangerous.
3 - Asana vs Tiger, Friendship and it's adorable.
2 - Misty vs Aki Round 2, Misty revenge is over. The only duel a monster eat human too. 🥲
1 - Masumi vs Yuzu Round 2 the most epic one. And the Last duel for Masumi until ArcV is over. Rip LDS never forget. YES i still remember them.

10. Yuamu vs Asaka (it was okay and the fusion was cool but I didn’t like how Yuamu’s heart wasn’t fully in it)
9. Vivian vs Rebecca (it’s one of the few season 5 duels I remember and I loved all the strategy in this duel)
8. Romin vs Yuka (same reasons as Dyl, Yuka’s deck is cool, surprise result, but also it low key shows Luke and Romin’s growth as Luke let her borrow his monsters)
7. Rio vs Lotus (made Rio look badass and showed how she carries herself. Wish Rio had more solo duels)
6. Aki vs Misty round 1 (backstory was great, the way Misty’s cards were trying to lock Aki out of Black Rose Dragon was cool, the Earthbound Immortal summon was epic)
5. Asana vs Tiger (a very story driven and wholesome duel. I loved seeing these two’s backstory as well as their friendship get rekindled)
4. Romin vs Princess G (after a bit of a lack luster second season for Romin, I feel like this duel picked up her momentum again. She was great, the song was amazing, the back and forth and stakes were intense, and it was a fun mirror match, one of the few in Yugioh)
3. Blue Angel vs Vyra (also my fav of the 3 Hanoi general duels, the way Aoi used her Trickstars to overcome Vyra’s virus deck, and how she risked it all to use her skill was incredible. It’s her best win and one of her most impressive duels)
2. Aki vs Misty round 2 (the full backstory was amazing, Yusei and Divine in the background fighting was also intense, hearing the truth come out and Misty getting her revenge was interesting as she was the only dark signer that did, and the ending back and forth was really fun and the ending was somber. A great duel for sure)
1. Yuzu vs Masami round 2 (it showed Yuzu’s growth and to have her and Masami duel again in a different setting was nice. It was the peak of Yuzu’s character and she was amazing. I also just love Melodious a lot)
Loved the list to be honest, I love your take on the duels, especially Blue Angel versus Vyra.
My favorite of the list has to be Yuzu vs Julia because it’s so much fun to watch with the action field and gem knights vs musical divas. I also loved the Lyra vs Blue Angel duel.
Akiza versus Misty absolutely deserve that number one spot, through the first Duel I saw of her and it blew me away, and Romin versus Princess G is so good, the girl had so much to live up to and if you ask me she delivered
Great list! Gotta be honest, forgot about that rio duel completely. I'd probably have romin vs Princess g first but that's because I haven't watched 5ds for years and also just really like sevens and it's insert songs

The fact that GX doesn't have any such duel is a total surprise for me considering the wide range of the characters in the show
Nothing will ever top Akiza's round two duel with Misty in girl vs girl duel for me. I am glad to see this get the number one spot as we saw how strong Akiza is both as the Black Rose Witch, who is terrifying honestly, and Akiza herself when she must fight with EVERYTHING she has got. While Misty played a nasty early game lockdown in the duel with her tragic continuous spell cards to try to lock down Akiza's moves.

I guess I am in the minority that liked Round 1 of Aki VS Misty better than Round 2. I felt like the Yusei & Divine scene distracted from the duel a lot and Misty trying to pull too much BS to torture Aki. In round 1 the flow and pacing just felt a lot better plus the display of the Earthbound god was amazing!
My #1 favorite has to go to Yuzu VS Masumi round 2! Such an amazing duel for all the reasons listed.
I hated most Vrains duels (because of irrational hatred of Link monsters) but Vyra's duel was definetely one of my favorites! Vyra had really awesome designs for her monsters and Blue Angel did such a good job taking her on.
Finally the Princess G duel was great! Rush anime does a really great job with all of their female characters!
Except for Yuamu down the stretch.

It Amazes me how the sevens universe is doing more of this than the other spin offs and people just want to put it down just because it's not your nostalgia.
I just didn't care about anything that was happening in the first 3 arcs, and didn't enjoy the humor they used.
Good thing they gave female characters more duels, but that isn't an incentive for me to watch full Sevens

When I was a kid, 5ds was brand new, I know it was a boys show, but I really wish Misty had more duels, or just any of the duelist girls having more duels

It is WILD that Yugioh has been around for so long and we have seen a lot of female duelists and yet only 18 girl on girl duels. I haven’t seen the rest of Arc-V, I’m only halfway through the Synchro arc, but man not even the Bracelet Girls got a mention other than Yuzu

I’ve come to realize something during this video. Most female vs female duels all have personal stakes while most male duels are life or death.
The coolest matchup, imo would be Aki vs. Ishizu with the necklace. It would be very interesting to see if Aki could overpower Ishizu's future sight. Aki is psychic, so maybe she could do it somehow.
I think if you made the Top 11 instead of 10 the dual against Mia and Tea in dualist kingdom was really impactful in the emotional stand point even thou the dual itself probably leaves something to be desired, or at the very least that dual deserves a honorable mention. Any ways now that you mention it I would like to see a Ranking video on the duals with music in them.

Wow, so GX is the only series to not have any Duels solely between two female characters.
The closest we get is that pair duel between Jaden, Alexis, Hassleberry, and Blair!
Oh and that other pair duel between Dorothy, Shepard, Jaden and Alexis in ep 161

10: I need to watch 54 through 57 of Go Rush so I missed this duel.
9: I remember Rio's duel, cuz she's the only heroic person out of the main trio to beat a Chaos XYZ user. I remember Lotus/Aika because she had a crush on Takeshi/Caswell, and I wish Rio got more duels in season 4 and 5.
8: Yeah this was a wholesome duel.
7: Yeah, Misty's like the female character that wasn't done dirty at all. She had a good storyline from start to finish and I'm glad there was build up.
6: Yuamu was probably my favorite Goha Sibling outside of Yuo, Yuro, and Yuga.
5: The best part of this duel really was their backstory. It was so sweet and really brought the friendship back in YuGiOh for me.
4: I was so proud of Aoi for this. Why the hell didn't they let Akira duel Spectre first so she could get the second battle victory against Spectre? That would've brought this plotline full circle.
3: I like action duels more than most, so making this as Action Duel to heighten the rematch was handled really
2: This is the closest this franchise has to a ceremonial duel for a female character, and this duel was built up since episode 3 and 40. I was so surprised this didn't make your top 10 Sevens duels.
1: I need to watch Akiza vs Misty round 2 subbed, this would've been a perfect conclusion had 5Ds ended with season 2.

The shows before Sevens doesn’t have that many girl characters to begin with. That means the probability that a girl duel is in some sense - already low. Having both duelist being girls on opposite ends - that probability is minuscule.

One thing Yugioh lacks is a major female duelist Yubel was good and Camula got some big wins but a part from that no much.

It looks like ArcV have the majority of this type of duels, since the main Rival had only 6 duels, and they didn't use the best friend(Gongenzaka) that much.
On the other hand it looks like DM and Zexal probably have the least , since they hardly had a duel without MC, Rival or Best friend dueling in it

If the GX anime had a well-written female lead, then she could have girl fights.
Recency bias and the tone and the time made me think #10 was too low for Asaka vs Yuamu. Kind of a list suggestion might be romantic subplot duels where you feel like it is better received because of the girl character having percieved romantic feelings for another character

This list just makes me wish that there were more duels in the yugioh franchise featuring female duelists, especially if they are girl vs girl. Female duelists in yugioh just aren't given as much respect as they could have been. I would consider Téa Gardner vs Mai Valentine as an honorable mention because it was the first girl vs girl duel seen in the yugioh anime, and part of Téa's undefeated record. This is a good list overall.

We are being spoiled by Vanguard balanced cast
i mena, Rio was a competent duelist, but she endep up like asuka, only wining filler duels. And she didn´t even dueled a lot after the numbers ruins arc. But the big problem with anna is that she was a filler caracther, wich menas in anime rules, you can´t do anything with her, but you can clear see during the anime they wanted to do more with her. And kotori and cathy they were useless, so much , during in the middle of the series, the writters diidn´t know what to do with then.
I know Tea vs Mai was not a good duel. But it give so much character development to them, that i would include it in the list.
Also i wonder if Alexis /Jaden vs Tyranno/Blair duel was elegible, Would you include it?
I personally enjoyed Téa vs Mai as a girl vs girl duel in yugioh, even if it wasn't the best.
The latter one isn't just girl vs girl (since Judai and Tyranno are also there) so Dylan didn't include it.

Well, I would say that the only ones that are One-Shot are those of Rio and Romin.
