    Hi Mary Beth! All great ideas. It is a cool way to store them for us *visual learners*! I saw this idea with the J-hooks on CeCeCreations channel! I put the J-hooks and hang them on a circle hanger.(original use was for scarves!) Works for me! TFS~Jeanne

    You could use a tension rod inside the cabinet. I usually store my stencils by categories in an upright paper file [like Cropper Hopper].

    The lampshade solution is brilliant. I’m pretty sure I have a lampshade or two that did not fare well during the move to a new house. All I need is those J hooks. (I have kept my stencils in a stand up rack for file folders, but of course there is a lot of aggravating tangling. I can’t believe I have run across your video just when I need it desperately.). Thank you, thank you, thank you.

    Wow, awesome, helpful ideas! And I thought I was a stencil junkie! Clearly I am not alone in my addiction. Thanks so much for sharing!

    My collection is growing and I needed new ideas for storage where I can see what I have rather than in a binder. Thanks for the ideas. Think j hooks with a dowel under my shelf will be my next step.

    I don't have too many stencils yet so I just hang them on a ring and it works for now. I'm glad to see other ways for storage because, knowing me, I will have a good collection soon.

    Love this! Lots of ideas! A tomato cage could work as a two or three tiered piece. I might even plant up a 10" pot with a low growing house plant and stick the cage in that....would help to integrate it into the house/workshop......

    Hi Mary Beth~I've tried so many ways to store my stencils but hanging works best for me. Like you, I have to see them and I put them away wet. I'd love it if you could get the rights to produce your own line of something like the Simply Renee Clip It Up that you have. Seems logical that a stencil designer, manufacturer and artist might just help out by selling us a way to stash the stencils we buy. Pretty please??? Love your stencils and your energy!

    Great idea with the 6x6 and 4x4 sleeves . The lampidea, great too. But it wil take me too much space, so in the ordners they go . TFS

    Great ideas... just in time for my reorganizing my work space.
    I also have industrial size - for Walls - which is still a challenge for me to store. and I am limited on space. But hey, this is a start - Juliana of The Faux Chateau.

    So helpful! I can see the usefulness of hanging them, because I too have no patience for waiting for things to dry before putting away. Wondering if I can apply some of the ideas to storing stamps not on backing.

    • @mbshaw707
      @mbshaw707 Před 9 lety

      Debbie G Yes, Debbie, I do store my unmounted stamps this way too, I just use these clips because they support the weight of the stamps. www.clipitup.com/additional-clips-40-pack

    Retail display companies sell floor standing displays that work just like the one you mentioned was discontinued. It's a typical retail display for hats and scarves and that sort of thing.

    Hi Mary Beth, I can't seem to find a good concrete answer but do you clean your stencils or just leave the paint on them? If you do clean how do you do it? Thank you!

    • @Stencilgirl
      @Stencilgirl  Před 6 lety

      Hi Patricia, I usually leave them dirty unless I am using a texture medium or something that will cause damage. In that case, I put them in a container of water (with soap) or wipe gently with a baby wipe.
