How to STOP Waking Up Feeling TIRED Every Morning - 4 Tips (animated)

  • How often do you actually wake up feeling energized? How many times a week do you get up when your alarm rings, without hitting the snooze button?
Nothing is worse than going to bed early, only to wake up still feeling exhausted. There are number of factors that affect how tired you feel in the morning, and you probably have some habits that are robbing you of your energy.
We'll look at some of the solutions that you should adopt, which will help you wake up early and well rested.
    1 .STOP SNOOZING
When you snooze, you’re not really getting more sleep. It doesn’t make you feel better about waking up. It actually does nothing beneficial for you. Every single time you hit the snooze button you wake up feeling more tired.
    2.GET ENOUGH SLEEP
We need a certain amount of sleep every day for our body to function properly. You should go to sleep and wake up at the same time seven days per week. This way your body gets into the rhythm and you can wake up naturally at the end of a sleep cycle, every single day.
3.RE-HYDRATE AND GET THE BLOOD FLOWING
It's crucial that you hydrate yourself first thing in the morning. After 6 to 8 hours without water, you'll naturally be dehydrated, and dehydration causes fatigue.
Another important thing to do, is some light exercise as soon as you wake up.
It may seem counter intuitive, but researchers say expending energy by engaging in regular exercise, doesn't make you tired, it actually creates energy in your body.
    4.AVOID SCREENS BEFORE BED
Your TV, smart phone and computer screen all produce artificial blue light.
The problem with artificial light in the evening, is that it tricks your body in to thinking that it's actually day time.
When it gets darker outside, your body naturally produces a sleep hormone called melatonin. Since artificial light blocks melatonin production, we can really mess up our sleep, because your body doesn't send signals to your cells that's it's night time.
    Apps mentioned:
Sleep Cycle - Alarm that wakes you up when at the end of your sleep phase
F.lux - Orange screen for your computer
Twilight - Orange screen for your phone
    Disclaimer
If these tips don't help, you might have a medical problem. If so, you should see a doctor immediately. Things such as chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) or sleep apnea, are more common than you might think and will affect how tired you feel.

My sister works as an auxiliary nurse (health care). At the end of her working-week, she sleeps the entire first day off, undisturbed. A whole 24 to 36 hours of sleep. She might get up to use the bathroom and then goes right back to bed. One time I read about it being called "sleep debt".

XxWraith24xX but what quality of sleep will it be? You might fall asleep but your melatonin productivity time will be two hours behind. Which means 2 hours of your sleep will be of shitty quality. People think they sleep ok but they don’t. The repair mechanism the body goes through during sleep is affected if your melatonin is too low at the point of falling asleep. Body is most affective at this repair mechanism between 10 pm and 2 am. If your not in bed by 9:30 every night your getting shitty sleep

This is because it takes plenty of time for your body neurochemistry to adjust to being awake. Don't worry.
If you're extremely tired however. Sort it out.

i have tested and proven that both the "go to sleep and wake up at the same time every day" and the "drink a glass of water as soon as you wake up" are very effective. it's been just five days and i've already gotten into a rhythm where i go to bed (without using my phone) and i wake up naturally around 6:30 (the time i need to wake up for school). when i go to sleep, i pour some water out of a water bottle into my duck song mug (free promotion lol) and go to sleep. then i wake up and drink it. as soon as i'm hydrated, i feel instantly energized. it doesn't wear off, either. when i'm at school in the morning without the water i feel tired and drowsy, however when i drink the water i feel okay and ready to learn. please try these! you'll make a revolutionary change in your sleep!

Each one of us have predominant combinations of elements that depends on our parents'. These combinations of elements are called Vata(air and space), Pitta (fire and water) and Kapha(Earth and water). Read about how the imbalance of five elements in our body controls our behaviour. Get ur pulse reading done by an ayurvedic physician. We can not completely change our body type but this can be controlled to some extent thru our food habbits according to our body type, ayurvedic medical guidance and spiritual lifestyle. Learn how to meditate. Eat fibre rich foods before ur meals. Most of the diseases attack a body because of unhealthy gut. You can try ayurvedic detox programs as well.

From reading all the comments, I’m seeing the best way to get good sleep and wake up feeling better (from my experience as well) is your routine. If you go to bed anytime, eat snacks, don’t drink water or shower, watching CZcams videos it won’t help. But someone who goes to bed generally around the same time, taking time to pray or read before bed, and taking care of physical needs before sleep would probably sleep better. The discipline gained from these little habits not only can make you feel so much better but help you be more disciplined in so many other areas of life

About tip 4, I think you can activate the “orange screen mode” even without apps, if you’re on iPhone.
You can just go to the control center (the menu with a lot of features that pops up when you swipe upwards 2 times), hold down the luminosity bar and select the button that says “Night shift mode”. The screen will go a little darker but also will become way more orange.

My main tip: do NOT think! I often laid in bed and kept monologuing my feelings in whole novels to myself to work through whatever emotions I had from the last day. And I couldn't fall asleep that way, because I was concentrating on all these thoughts. What helped me a lot is to write these thoughts down beforehand, even if I just type it into my phone and then delete it again, it helps a lot to organize my feelings and have some closure. When in bed I would actually sometimes think to myself: Don't think. Think of nothing. Nothing... Nothing...
I know it sounds and even feels stupid but it helps me a lot to focus on this word to not drift away with my thoughts. I guess it could work with anything. So anytime you feel your thoughts drifting, shift it back to a pre set boring word. I always fall asleep a lot faster that way! :)

I have the same problem and also sometimes say in my head: "nothing, nothing, nothing, ..." Just avoid thinking. In many cases I've fallen asleep soon after.

This is really true. My insomnia is kicking again and one thing I realized is that my thoughts were chaotic at that time to the point I couldn't relax and sleep. I started doing sleeping hygiene when pandemic started and it really helped a lot. One thing I realized is to relax and think of nothing.

I've used Sleep Cycle for six years now. It keeps statistics of your sleeping habits and it's awesome to look back and see how you've done with your sleep habits and the amount of sleep you get. And it works, you definitely wake up easier

But how does it know when I fall asleep? Sometimes it takes literal hours before I fall asleep at all, sometimes I just stay awake throughout the whole night.
