  • A video to show my students how to use and configure Repetier Host software to print to our Reprap printers at George School. It also details how to configure the Slic3r slicer, which is built into the software.

I find using Repetier Host very underrated software. I've been using it since I picked up the 3D printing bug. Never liked Slic3r or Prusa slicer, both annoyingly complicated and messy. I use the built in Cura engine with Repetier and does the job every time. If I need some extra supports, then I'd use Cura slicer or IdeaMaker. And Repetier always does the job quicker than any other slicer. One other thing, if the printer is not calibrated and tuned correctly, no matter what slicer you're using, it will produce bad prints. Great video!!!

Thanks, Hristo. I really haven't played around much with the other slicers. Slic3r simply worked for me out of the box, and I've been dancing with the one that brought me ever since. I agree that Repetier is a great piece of software. (I do sometimes wish it allowed us to save the Repetier file.

How can we extend the tool travel distance during printing? For a longer object, the printer stops in the middle of the path. Any hidden setting?

Hi friend. a question can you do modeling jobs in sketchup and pass them to repetier? Thank you

Yes you can! Just export them as an STL.
