learned so much from this, being someone with software engineering background, you covered not only this topic, but other pathologies to look for like cartilage health, and fractures
    Thank you so much

Dr Srijita is a radiologist. I think you should ask the question from the surgeon who is doing the surgery.

Discoid meniscus is more prone to degeneration earlier than normal menici, the exact management will depend not only on your mri appearance but also on your clinical symptoms and findings on examination.Final call will be taken by the treating orthopod knee specialist. Please consult a knee surgeon asap

I'm on my third Dr about my knee. Right knee has been a huge issue for about three years. Loud snap and instant swelling when I went went to stand up from kneeling to fix the blanket in my dog's crate. Injections, mri's, physical therapy and two Dr's later, I was told there's nothing wrong. Fast forward to this past November, I went hiking and then my left knee got incredibly painful. I found a new Dr that does shoulders (and knees, I need shoulder surgery too lol). So i did 6 weeks of PT (didn't help and aggravated my right knee). Got my mri results today for my left knee. Apparently there's a lateral meniscus root attachment tear. He's sending me for a new mri of my right knee. I guess my point is...you know your body best. If you're not getting answers or resolution to your knee pain, keep going to different Dr's until you can find answers. I hope you feel better 😊
