‘ghostin’ is about her grieving over Mac Miller’s death whilst she was in a relationship with Pete Davidson.

And it was very complex cause the drugs were the reason Ari broke up with Mac and the reason why he died. And it felt so disgusting for Ariana to be in another relationship, when the love of her life has died. And then she broke up with her new guy, Pete because of guiltiness. All of the butterflies were killed by Mac's ghost. Just listen to this and Ghostin and say it doesn't sound like absolute hell.

Ariana is the most under appreciated mainstream artist. I know she’s super famous but she gets so much hate when it’s so rare to hear a voice like hers nowadays we need to appreciate it while she’s still here.
This is subjective but I think she has the strongest discography out of any female pop star of this era. She hasn’t had a bad album yet. I think the hate comes from her personal choices though.

there’s a lot of reasons why people don’t like her, but in reality is none of their business. it has to do with her dating life, but who really cares? there’s so many celebs and people of power who have done far worse and no one bats an eye.
she’s extremely talented and a rare gem today, especially in mainstream music. we have to appreciate her talent

Exactly! It doesn’t solve all your problems but it does make you much happier. I’m disabled and in poverty and can’t afford to eat sometimes. Money can’t take away my severe incurable diseases but it can give shelter and food and the ability to have things like internet and a phone and ability to have and take care of pets and children.
every other news outlet reported that both ariana and ethan were separated before they began dating. it was only page 6 who tried to claim they weren’t separated and later on backtracked saying that they actually don’t know and there was nothing to back up their first claims.
No one in this generation, serve a hard, beautiful, stunning vocals like she does, she is the talent itself

Loved your reaction! You should react to her discography in chronological order, starting with Yours Truly, her debut. Last year was the 10th anniversary so there's an anniversary edition if you wanna check that instead but do as u wish, it has current live versions of some of the songs definitely worth listening.
So... Some facts about the album you just listened:
1. In Imagine the last high notes are called whistle notes, the highest pitch the human can do. Her and Mariah are great at it.
2. In Ghostin she's talking about how she couldn't stop thinking abt Mac Miller cause of his death while she was with her boyfriend at the time, Pete Davidson, so basically she's singing that song to Pete. Very heartbreaking 💔.
3. In Thank U Next she ain't talking about another girl, she's saying that she's in a better relationship with herself. She's probably had about 7 boyfriends by now.
4. In Break Up With Your Girlfriend I'm Bored she's actually telling her boyfriend to breakup with her cause she's bored of their relationship. She's talking about herself in 3rd person.
4. This was an intense album cause she dropped it just 3 months later after she dropped her album Sweetner, due to Mac Miller's death after that album was released and the complications in her relationship with Pete because of it.
No shade to any artist in this gen but what makes me love ari more than any other artist is her ability to perform songs live with such grace and perfection. I would definitely recommend checking some out. few songs--

Her debut album Yours Truly is amazing, is very 90s rnb divas inspired and the vocalsss are on point as always. My fav album by her it’s Sweetener that is an healing album

Yours truly and positions are very rnb. My everything and dangerous woman are pop. Sweetener is a blend of different sounds. They’re all great in their own sense. I recommend listening to her entire discography.

the homewrecking thing is a false rumor spread by page six, same media that back tracked on it saying they didn’t have any evidence of what they spread. ppl just hate on her on a daily cause she’s really THAT woman, and she’s super talented. all the songs you hear on there were vocally produced by herself

If you liked 'in my head' (I love it too), you should absolutely check out Ariana and Vogue Magazine's video for the song. They added some effects on the song which was cool. It's not exactly a music video for the song but it's definitely worth watching.

Sweetener is considered her best piece of work, but my personal favorites are Thank U, Next and Positions
i really think you should give sweetener a listen. it's produced by pharrell alongside i think max martin and a couple others. she also covers 2 songs on the album really well (the four seasons and imogen heap) and vocally it is super rich. the track rem was meant to go to beyonce years back (theres a demo somewhere on youtube) but it is really incredible how she can make absolutely any sound her own. i think it's my favourite album of hers purely from how distinct and fresh and funk it sounds but also the intention of the album and most importantly.. the harmonies and hella vocal stacking. get well soon and the intro to no tears left to cry (for some reason it's only in the music video and is cut from the official audio releases) are the best examples of this. such an intriguing album even after years of listens.

The song 'break up with your girlfriend, I'm bored' was sort of a last minute addition to the album and was never meant to be serious, just another fun bop. There was a song called 'reMeMber' on the tracklist she teased, but the song was taken out before release because Ariana felt it was too personal. The song is about Mac's passing.

Ghostin has to be the saddest lyrically and by melody. Ariana sampled her late ex-boyfriends song,Mac Miller. Titled “2009” on the swimming album. Ghostin in particular is about her relationship with former boyfriend Pete Davidson, to be engaged.While with him she got the news Mac Miller had passed by accidental overdose.From my interpretation “Ghostin” appreciates them both. She knew Pete tried to help and comfort her, but it wasn’t in the cards for them.Scooter Braun, her then manager forced her to release this track, he knew it was beautiful, putting grief into words “He just comes to visit me when im dreaming every now and then.” Ariana hated the thought of this song being out, I would too. It was to painful to share such a raw piece of work with the world. Since then she’s stated she will never perform this song live.Her new album, a concept album “eternal sunshine” she intertwines elements of thee movie “eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.”If you know this movie you know its about trying to erase pain and heartbreak, but without that there is no love.Her album is utterly that. Love is grief,love is pain.Esotsm was Mac Millers favorite movie. A video of her and mac miller in paris had gone viral a few years back…in the video you can hear her laughing with him. She samples this in her title track “eternal sunshine”. This album has to be the most mature, and lyrically beautiful album she’s put out yet. 10/10. I recommend you listen to this album as well.

The rumors that they were together when they were both still married is false. The news site who posted it had to submit an apology saying they lied. They were both separated and going through divorce/broken up. She keeps saying there’s a lot she could say but to keep it simple don’t believe what you read.

In my opinion, of all Ariana's albums, thank u, next is the one that has the most hip hop influences in her career. despite having great vocals, it is not her album that she explores these vocals the most. your truly and positions are more r&b, while my everything and dangerous womans are more pop albums along with sweetener which is more alternative, both deliver more vocals compared to thank u, next. My favorite is positions and dangerous woman is the best album of her career.

Ariana wrote and toured this album when she was greiving the loss of Mac and still having ptsd and severe anxiety and depression from the bombing at her concert in Manchester UK where 22 people died. This was such a dark time in her life she always says. Imagine is about imagining if mac was still alive so they could be together like they used to be. Ghostin is about wishing she could be with mac after he was gone while she was still with Pete. Ariana adopted Mac’s dog Myron after he passed. The song ghostin also samples Mac’s song 2009. She had an unreleased song called “reMeMber” about him too that was too personal to release. She didn’t even want to release ghostin but her manager at the time, scooter braun made her include it.

Ohh yikes. So if a person starts from thank u, next, it means that they have only seen the baddie- Ariana. The album looks mean and self- obsessed, but when you look at it more, you realize this is actually a heartbreak album but covering it up with baddie things.
