We have a version just like this at breakfast that we call paranthas, you can get them stuffed with cheese, aloo (potato) and keema (minced meat). They’re often served with daal or chana (chickpea curry).

Nice....so wonderful to note Americans enjoying local breakfast like roti canai. This definitely was a "no-no" amongst expats say about 30 years ago. Roti canai's origins are from South India where its known as parotta in Kerala and Madurai or pratha roti generally. Alot of Keralites have migrated to Msia and they used to run most of the hawker centre type eateries until covid came along. The "lentil" sauce is actually "sambhar" from Chennai, Tamil Nadu but the Msians have changed it with some flavourings.

Again, There is roti sardin, roti bakar. By the way, in Malaysia there is nasi goreng USA. U for Udang (Prawn), S for Sotong (Squild) and A for Ayam (Chicken). At first I thought it was named after USA (America). Only then I found out.
