Milk tea with ginger is good to start your breakfast. ..👍
Oh you went to Kampung Baru 🌟
You went to right place to find Malay(Melayu) foods like Nasi Lemak, Kampung Baru is the hotspot for Malay in KL. It will become more alive during evening n night tho.
What a wonderful video. Glad to watch that you have had a good nasi lemak in KL.
I tried Nasi Lemak Wanjo last month and it was not the way I’d imagined after watching many tourists went there because the sambal was too liquidised (cair) and the lauk ( accompanying dishes) just so so. Almost devoid the taste of the actual nasi lemak.
Since Wanjo has somehow managed to be famous…I urge the owner to relook into their nasi lemak…the rice itself no taste of Santan, the sambal should thicker, well balanced of sour, spicy, sweet and salt. The day I went there was no fried peanuts. From this video…there are still no peanuts. Peanuts a must for a traditional Nasi Lemak!
Come on guys…you are our Nasi Lemak ambassador to tourists…please do justice to the dish.
The best Nasi lemak is at Village Park at Uptown Damansara. The place is always pack. The rice is much better than Wanjo strong taste of coconut milk n the sambal is not too sweet.
It depends on what you compare it to. As a KL born native I kind of like Wanjo if that's the type of nasi lemak I'm looking for. Wanjo is comparible to Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa which is around the same place. It's the type of nasi lemak that you go for the lauk (side dishes) instead of the nasi. Growing up in the 80s the two big ones are nasi lemak Tanglin at Bukit Aman and Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa at Kampung Baru. Wanjo mainly compete with Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa. Not the old-school, plain and simple nasi lemak bungkus. So they don't focus on the rice and sambal but the lauk.
@@slebetman It sells Nasi Lemak and absolutely that they are selling…not the lauk per ser so it is only fair if they make an effort to effing cook a proper Nasi Lemak that at least has a rich flavour of Pandan and Coconut milk. Devoid of at least these two main ingredients then they have got to take down the "offering" of Nasi Lemak.
Instead replace them with Nasi Campur.

WELCOME TO MALAYSIA 🇲🇾
I HOPE YOU ENJOY IN MALAYSIA 🇲🇾
I'm travelling to Malaysia at the end of next month and this has made me super excited...Nasi Lemak I'm coming for you!
Let me know if you need a local guide around for amazing food! No charges, just a passion to bring people around. :)
Malaysia ❤🇲🇾❤🇲🇾❤🇲🇾
Good stuff bro. Binging your Bangkok series, I’m going next month! Love from Fresno, California
Liked the way you described your meal while eating.
There are many beautiful mosques built on water, you should check them out and make sine footage inside outside.😊
My Malay people give this young man a subscribe push out there.
We love you Malaysia.
U should try a basic Nasi Lemak first... a basic Nasi Lemak in its original form usually consist of fried anchovies, fried peanuts, boiled chicken egg, slices of cucumber, rice cooked in coconut milk and the sambal (gravy).... other than these basic components - is Nasi Lemak with extras....
Texas Fried Chicken in America is called Church's Texas Chicken; not sure if that rings a bell, but when they came to Malaysia they removed Church from the name given that it is a Muslim country.
Also the Merdeka skyscraper is the second tallest building in the world after the Burj Khalifa hence why it looks so massive haha. Without the Spire i.e. to the roof only, it ranks fourth.
Love your video's Zane ❤❤😊
Hit that like button for Zane 🎉🎉😅 Nice one bro
Texas chicken is actually Church's Chicken in USA. But the literal meaning of church might a bit sensitive to the muslim customer (60% population). Hence they renaming to Texas Chicken in Malaysia.
The best nasi lemak is in damansara. Called Village park. Once u had this nasi lemak others will be amateurs to u
the main part of Nasi Lemah is the rice, then its sambal... traditionally served in a banana leaf with rice, sambal, boiled egg, anchovies, cucumber and peanuts. it's just that modern times have been improvised by adding various types of side dishes such as chicken, meat, fried fish / rendang / masak merah etc... various types of vegetables, more.
"Don't go to wanjo, don't go to wanjo, don't go to wanjo" ... F*ck, you went to wanjo. Wanjo is very very overrated, they used to be the shit but after all those exposure, well you know... Just around the corner from Wanjo, is a humble stall called Nasi Lemak Kak Chuk, now kak chuk as the owner is called, she serves delicious, excellent nasi lemak! Next time you're here in Malaysia, i hope you get the privilege to dine at Kak Chuk's humble stall. The little gems to be found around KL.
Nice city Nice food nice people in Malaysia
I love my nasi lemak as any Malaysians would, but personally my heart dies a little everytime I see tourists/traveller's vlogging about their search for the best nasi lemak.. And all of them ends up at this overrated place. Unpopular (and personal) opinion but the essence of nasi lemak is just totally missing at this place (the rice and the sambal are truly bland).. what it is, though, is a place for a glorified nasi campur with all the many side dishes, I will give them that. I said what I said, and I sincerely hope you will find a much much better nasi lemak during your visit here - just a simple but tasty nasi lemak. This, unfortunately, was not it.
any suggestions? I am heading over to Malaysia soon!
personally I would go for Nasi Lemak Village Park, Nasi Lemak Burung Hantu, Nasi Lemak Tanglin, Nasi lemak Antarabangsa or even from any small roadside stalls like the ones suggested by other viewers here (like Nasi Lemak Kak Chuk). Their primary focus would be the rice itself and the sambal, as it should be - instead of the side dishes IMO. If you would like to explore the array of side dishes, you're better off looking for a nasi campur (mixed rice) which can be found almost everywhere during lunch hour.
Texas Chicken is called Church's in the US. They rebranded it here by removing "Church's" from "Church's Texas Chicken" probably to avoid any controversy and to have a wider appeal.
Nasi Lemak, sedap! yup, nasi lemak sambal (sauce) is very spicy. I haven't been to Kpg Baru, KL. I have been to Petaling Street Market, looks interesting but the main alley walk is too small for big crowd. Cool area for happy hours in Bukit Bintang, KL
❤ malaysia
If you're still in Malaysia, you gotta try the Village Park Nasi Lemak in PJ. Prime Ministers go eat there. Probably a 30 min Grab ride from KL
So many friends I don't know god.rld..i hope y r good.ble.
Yesterday I was watching videos of you in Mexico, and today I swiped that you were in Malaysia. Haha, welcome!
That fried potato is called bergedil, it's a savoury mashed potato which then being fried with egg..
Love watching your video 👍
It's Churchs Texas Chicken..We drop the Churchs and just go with Texas Chicken
Yes there are other gourmet nasi lemak places example village park
We have teh same potato in Indonesia. It's called a perkadel. has some spices as well as the potato
The fried mashed potato is in essence a croquet = minced meat x potatoes. It's called a Bergedil in Malaysia or Perkedel in Indonesia.
its fun watching you walk around streets I've walked lol and I ate here too .. solid nasi lemak!
Enjoy your meals.
Nice video 👍
Teh halia or ginger tea is a good choice..
You should try Nasi Kerabu and Nasi Kandar.. those are Malaysian favourite and signature dishes,. Try chendol and laksa and roti chanai too..
Enjoy Kampung Baru while it lasts.
hi bro, you just passby my shop at chinatown...welcome to chinatown
In Malaysia, you'll need to mix your drinks thoroughly in order to optimize taste and flavors. The ginger tea you drank should have been mixed as the bottom part is actually condensed milk and not ginger, the ginger you tasted was actually "liquid-fied" and mixed with the tea.
Hot Wheels are made here, shop at my place selling for two dollars each and I don't question where they get them from
Best in town
Good video. I was at Chinatown earlier this week. By the way, where's the Rolex watch you got from Chatuchak, Bangkok? I love that video too.
Enjoy your video so much !! If you still couldn’t get the best NASI LEMAK I’m honor enough to invite you to have my NASI LEMAK !!!kol 😀😀😀🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾🌺🌺🌺🌺
Looks like you had a good day.
You should have tried the beef rendang...really yummy
We call that fried mashed potato = begedil. You can find it almost every mixed rice shop
Texas Chicken is called Church's Chicken in the US
All that rain was extremely hard, the rain was torrential, absolutely pouring cats and dogs.
You should visit the church near your air bnb and holy rosary church near little india - both are very beautiful for Kl standards.
That mashed potato is filled with either beef or chicken filling. More like potato croquette.
Let’s Go ZANE Go 😅😂😂✌️👍👍👍🙌💪🙏
Hi Zane...love ur video so much...been watching them for a while👍👍 love that you enjoy our Nasi Lemak ❤❤. FYI a lot of Malaysians love it when it rains as rain provides refuge from the unbearable Tropical heat..Wanjo is a good introductory Nasi Lemak option for people who wanna try it for the first time..However, you should also try Nasi Lemak from the road side sellers that offer more scrumptious dishes to be paired with the coconut rice..YUM...anyway...if you see comments from our Indonesian brothers just disregard them and enjoy Malaysia your own way ok!...Indonesia is a beautiful country ..but sometimes when their netizens comment on videos showcasing Malaysia, they can be irritating and infuriating too😂😂😂
Gravy Baby for English breakfast too.
Like your video ❤❤
I don't know. I'm more of a wrap nasi lemak type of guy.... If you find yourself back in Penang, check out Ali Nasi Lemak Daun Pisang on Beach Street.
That vending machine? Yeah.. it's good enough for a country which have the biggest hot wheels factory in the world
Hi Zane I was there last month for the nasi lemak
That's is what Tropical Heavy Rains give to ya
The mashed fried potato is bergedil
You look so at home it gives an impression you're based here in Kuala Lumpur. 😅😂😂
As usual the reaction from foreign tourists... 😅
Try eating Nasi Lemak Pandan ( green color rice ) if you haven't tried it yet 😁
it started to rain in Germany too right at the same time i heard in on your video. i was confused if it is the video or outside my Window😂 edit : and now you talked about germany haha inception
U wont find authentic nasi lemak in kl sorry..home cooked nasi lemak will be d sambal cooked together wt anchovies..sellers will separate d sambal and fry d anchovies so tht they can keep d sambal fresh longer...best nasi lemak for me is village park in pj if not random places outside of kl where they still make home style anchovies sambal
This is definitely a matter of choice...My late grandmother from my dad's side always fry the anchovies separately while my late grandmother from my mom's side always mix the anchovies with sambal😅😅😅😅
Village park nasi lemak cooked by Myanmar nationals sucks big time.
@@flahmadzaki2172 wanjo is indon so whts d difference??
@@najibyusoffchannel1417 thts why i explained at length for sellers almost evryone will separate it not bcoz of choice but only reason to preserve the sambal as long as possible..if u dont know most sellers will cook d sambal once every 3 or 2 days..not daily...if they mix anchovies they wont be able to keep d sambal that long as anchovies will produce fishy liquid eventually making it spoilt
The only authentic nasi lemak is the one wrapped in banana leaf while its hot. The aroma is simply different.
Fantastic vlog! 😊in which month did you visit Kuala Lumpur ?
Tried eating the nasi lemak mixed the sambal till the rice is red
I see so many people telling him not to go to wanjo. Can a real true proud Malaysian please tell me the best Nasi place to try 😊?
I
👍👍👍👍👍
😅no need to long walk, it just 10munites walk of 1metro station to that nasilemaks restaurant
Church's chicken = Texas Chicken
Hot ginger tea, hell yeah
To be young again. I would be in a diabetic coma after that meal! CHEERS
You didn't take the anchovies❓
Hi zane thought about what happen in Britain about Islamophobic
you should mention prices of food.
I like nasi dagang more. you should try..believe me..hahaha
👍👍💖💖👍👍
❤❤❤
They all go to the same place
Explore Germany.
Please try to purchase mic. Im getting headaches watching your videos from all the background noise.
No ikan billis or peanuts?! I'm disappointed in you Zane. Those are mandatory for nasi lemak.
Hi, where are you bro? I'm in KL.
Do you ever get lonely out there on your own?
You used to do tarot reading?
i think beef will be better in it
one of the most dissapointing Nasi Lemak ever! Just went there last week
wanjo?nooooo
Hankst oodf
.
Factory mode............,..
Nasi Lemak Wanjo is so overrated. I hardly find anything impressive with theirs. There are many others who have better sambal and nasi with authentic santan taste..
Overrated place... That wanjo nasi lemak taste plain af... You better go buy street nasi lemak than wanjo nasi lemak. Sincerely from local
How many times i should tell tourist, that nasi lemak wanjo IS OVERRATED... i am Malaysian, and i already tried it... taste like disgrace...
Fyi nasi lemak is from indonesia 🇮🇩
Nasi uduk is Indonesian, nasi lemak is Malaysian
Ni sejarahnya ni..ni di Google banyak ni sejarahnya nasi uduk.. Melaka membawa nasi lemak ke batavia lalu berjumpa dengan orang jawa yang suka makan nasi gurih lalu berlalu peperangan jumpa sama orang Betawi..so nasi uduk dari Malaysia bukan Indonesia..mau links aku kasi sejarah nasi uduk
Sushi is from Indonesia too. And pizza too. Indonesia invented every food in this world.
@@aldonaufans Rice and paddy fields all are from Indonesia, Indonesians found and planted paddy rice fields first in the world before the stone Age BC.
Typical Indonesia always like to claim everything from theirs 😅😅
Reel not value....
Boring life my......mamaia

Isn't Texas Chicken are known as Church Chicken in America?
