- I use items found in my wife's cosmetic drawer to fix broken eyeglass frames. The repair will be strong and long-lasting, as well as saving you money and time. As you can see in the video, I repaired these in a little over three minutes. Hope this hack helps those of you who wear glasses, or have broken sunglasses.
The baking soda on top of the superglue is genius. Totally repaired the bridge of a very expensive pair of eyeglass frames. Thank you!
Mike Farrace is it long lasting?
@@loladrizzy13pl I used it on a broken wet vacuum nozzle which is usually under high pressure from water, so glasses should hold very well👌🏾 I’ll add that you wipe the surface clean before applying the first layer of glue
Ok love the file stuck to your arm at end! Man, you saved a momma and self conscious 8 year old from going to school w/o her glasses. Dont want to pay $400 for her extra pair 25 days before Christmas!
This is similar to how acrylic nails are applied. The liquid solution is mixed with acrylic powder in layers. I've never seen it done with super glue and baking soda. I learned something new. Thanks!
Omg I’ve trying to fix my glasses they were plastic frames I tried everything even melting the temples I tried this desperately and it worked I can’t express how I feel I’m almost blind and can’t see clearly thank u sooo much u are a life saviour
Excellent, excellent and hilarious ending with the file superglued to your wrist! I’ll try the SuperGlue Baking Soda build up! If that doesn’t work, I’ll go with the guy a the heat shrink tubes! Again thanks!
Helpful, informative and a bit of humor too, very nice! Thanks for sharing this.
vidskitkid Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. You may like my 'bathroom hack' vid also.
4:04 did i just see a nail file, stuck to his arm? Because of superglue?
Ohhhh because it's dangerous as he mentioned... Lmao
Everything wet is not slippery after all🤣
Just a little dropped splash to your crotch..imagine that
Great tip ! You may try to clean both surfaces with alcohol to have even a stronger bond ! Cheers !
Good info, today my $90 eyeglasess just broke n the optician wont repair it. They prefer to sell me another frames....thanks
same but they cost 580€
You should have gone for Ray Ban. $90 dollar glasses are the equivalent of dollar store eyeglasses.
Thanks so much for this video. The bridge broke splitting my glasses in 2 I just glued it back together with baking soda and it seems strong. I don't have time to have new ones made and apparently my frames are discontinued plus I have a flight to catch in 2 days. This just saved me tons. Thank you so my friend
If the hinge is metal and your frame is plastic. You can heat the metal hinge with a soldering iron and metal it right back into the plastic no super glue needed.
Great video! I've put the bake soda on first and then added a drop of super glue, but this is a better idea. I use this combination for working on guitars, etc.
Totally doing that to my Ray-Bans snapped temple arm. You just saved me about 70 dlls for a new arm and a few days wait time for delivery. Great work!
Behind every man's great idea is his wife's beauty tools lmao
Wow, I tried it on my glasses and it definitely worked. Thank you so much. I love your videos.❤
Ill try this! I found you to be pretty funny with your goofy voice and comments. Enjoyed the video!
Like like like like!!!! I have to try this! So wrong that we pay $100+ for Rx glasses & the frames break with no way for them to repair it. We need to learn more ways to fix things! Thank u!
Repaired my frames in less than 30min using this video
As a broke person.
I approve his method
can't help but be pissed of how atrociously flimsy some glasses are for their price
Really? What brand where those, Walmart. You get what you pay for.
Ik mine broke while I was cleaning them the arm totally broke off I was very disappointed
True. Happens with designer frames too. Tut tut!
The ones in the video are cheap chemist glasses, not made to last and not good for your eyes.
Two years later, expensive frames are still made flimsy and fall apart!!
Works in certain cases not all depends on material like on this guy's cheap ish injection molded nylon based frame it does work I have done it myself many of times to help people out but it's definitely not good as new also it does take a technically minded skilled person to do a good job but for a quick fix it works
Daiyaan Davids amen! I have an assortment of various adhesives in the office where I work. Not only do frame and lens materials contributing factors but location of the break must be considered as well. I prefer slow set two part epoxy in general but adhesives are also available that have a little flexibility making them less prone to cracking. Overall cyanoacrylate glues are the worst choice. However, as you pointed out, using ANY adhesives is only a temporary solution and in no way could it be considered “good as new”
I did this and saved £700, it works in 2023.
Best tutorial - love it ! Now to buy some baking Soda and save myself $300 !!! THANKYOU ❤️
The top joy is the accomplishment itself.
Thanks and a recommend for few later simple vids like these sire
You just save my life LOL, been ordering 2times with the cheap china frames and both of them NOT match with the glass size 😁😁😁
It Worked!! Got my favorite glasses fixed that no shop would fix! Thanks Man...But how to get the glue and baking powder combination off my fingers???
Just broke my frame hinge. A very timely solution. Thank you.
May I assume that your dayjob is dentistry? Good video.
11-3-22 worked perfectly on a old pair of Glace Spys!! Thank god
Just fixed my eyeglasses also. Gonna fix the toilet handle tomorrow!!
You just saved my ass for being whooped and screamed at im gonna do this when my parent will go to sleep hopefully it works because my glasses are made of metal
Update: it didn’t work and i’ve been hiding my glasses from my parents for the past 2months claiming that they are lost
Buy some from EyeBuyDirect direct can get some for 50$ with prescription
@T.L Hill thanks for your suggestions since I went back to school they had to buy me new ones + my eyesight went worse
You should have used Qbond.
@@evangeline_777 you cant glue metal frames my child but you could weld them. just so you know for the next time
Will try this. Thanks!😊
Love the music. And the tip. Thank you!
Yeah I’ve done this like 3 times and they keeep breaking
Just watch a video where you soak them in acetone and it kind of melts the plastic a little bit and then he squish the pieces back together and let them dry and by the comments it looks like it works so I’m gonna try that instead
superglue sucks on plastic
Yeah, I tryed using heat to melt the plastic and stick it together, but when I put the lens back it brakes right back
Thanks !
I wish I had seen your video last year, but it's ok, I am going to glue my 2nd broken frames.
every description very funny... yeah I will follow your instructions... with the baking soda... haha ... thank you sir...
Works perfectly !! Thanks a million...
What a fun and informative video! I'm working on some glasses now and this looks like it might be the solution! Thank you! I'm going to thumbs up and subscribe!
It worked like a charm!!! Thank you for this awesome video!!!
BAHAHAHA! The ending was great! I laughed for 10 minutes! Great video! Thanks!
Genius idea!! ❤️❤️ Thanks
Super glue and cotton work even better
I laughed so hard when you used the magic marker
I was actually guided to this video by the eyeglass industry 🤷
Best Tutorial ever!
My wife banned me as well...worth it...it works
this is pure gold this guy is living in 2075
Useful info and with comedy. Lool. ThanQ.
Genius. Now that I've used up my warranty I'll be sure to do this.
The baking soda act like fine sand that add another strength to the glue.
Great turtorial !
Thank you so much, it worked for me 👍
I need to try that on my eyes glasses
Yeah but what if the middle breaks apart in half
Great video good info and funny thanks.
Worked a charm
brilliant! stuff we have in the house
thanks💯
Literally how I fix mine every time.. .... sometimes if a piece is missing I will use toilet paper or paper towel as a bridge/or filler
love your Video, thank you for the tip
your video narration is hillarious!
Will definitely try this!
ye
The question is, does it fold?
This really should have become a viral video.
Any dentist here? Is this compound recommended for tooth filling? I am tired of repeated fillings
Thanks 👍
Thanks
thanks.. very helpful
Could silicone work, if I can let it dry overnight?
Awesome!
i got the same problem with my glasses but it's metal. is it still effective if i use this tutorial? :c please reply..
Sorry to inform you that it is not as effective with metal.
you could try JB weld
Get yourself a blowtorch and silver aloy solder and and solder the broken parts will be super strong as long as your frame is not titanium
Never thought I would enjoy such a video 8/10 (BG music a little too loud/unbalanced).
A plain background would have helped with the focus issues 🤦🏻♀️
broke my $400 raybans... thanks for the help
if ya didn't break the hinge, would superglue be enough?
Naw. Even superglue would eventually fail. The oil from your face and constant use wears down the bond. I've tried...a lot. Thanks.
@@morekang4urbuck312 without baking soda, how long does it last? and how hard is the entire procedure? what are the chances I screw it up ? we're stuck in the middle of a pandemic and my glasses frame just broke AGHHHHHHHHHHHH
@@e.t._2509 baking soda is the secret ingredient. U need it for a solid bond. U can do this!
dude awesome tip and video!!
amazing ending xD
How many times should you apply super glue and baking soda?
As much as you want. Remember, the material can be filed down and painted.
Yes
Funniest ending!
Brilliant!
What about those clear plastic glasses that broke? Should I just use a dab of superglue minus the baking soda?
Lee ellis The bond will not be strong enough. The baking soda, though it may show, it will be MUCH stronger.
Thanks for the comment. Check out our other vids on CZcams.
Book reviews with Hewon and Taewon!
What if the super glue is pure liquid
Works better!
Okay it looks like you're just fixing an arm here. What about let's say a break on the bridge of plastic? Putting baking soda together with the super glue wouldn't that be creating a gap? Or does it improve it adhesive qualities?
Why didnt i see this before i got new glasses
I’m crying thank youuuu
Hey thats my patented fix !!!
thanks this is helpful - -
Thank you
don't use gel. use fully fluid superglue
What type of glue did you use?
does baking powder work?
bruh. you can just buy the frame... and also you can just pop the glasses out, no need to use plastic bags
Hello, but could you tell me to broke the mix of the baking sode and the super glue?
samirah khairunisa You can add superglue and baking soda to create an ultra-strong adhesion. You have to be careful, the two dries immediately on contact. Then you can sand or paint it if desired. Thanks for watching.
This guy sounds exactly like comedian Dave Hill.
Me: waiting impatiently for something to break 🤓
This shit is genius.. thanks man
I like the plastic bag.
Haha the file at the end
Yo Imma start putting screen protectors on my lenses I swear
Haha funny end, but I need my glasses to fix my glasses
