- Adapting to the conditions and taking a chance at a weather window I'm really glad I made the effort. Great fun on the lures and a few nice fish at anchor.

Great watch again, with plenty variation of species, all professionally handled and cared for. Thanks again.
Your channel is the best easily for fishing your a natural at this. Living in Cornwall helps obviously but you come across as you are . A normal guy that's been blessed. Hail hail
Thank you very much Stephen, we are simply sharing what we love doing. Simple, honest and no drama. 😊
Love your new boat, and especially your smile.😊 John. Another enjoyable video. And take care my Fish Locker Family. 💋
Always love seeing a new video from you! Thanks for the upload!
Another great video John, it’s nice to see you smiling and so enjoying what you are doing,I’ve meet a lot of fisherman over the years and for me you are Definitely the best I’ve seen

I always love your videos John, they are SO informative & relaxing with your brilliant presentation. Regards to your lovely family as well, Don from South Aust.
Thank you Don. 👍🏻
All fishermen know that the one last cast can last for hours...
And we've all done it..🎣😁
Just one more cast…😂
John, your smile and enthusiasm keeps me watching your videos! Very informative and I learn a lot always! Thanks 🙏🏻
I just love what we do. 😊
Salut John,
I am not a fisherman, though brought up on the coast in Ireland.
My passion is shooting my collection of revolvers and rifles which I am (living en France) able to enjoy. However I find your videos so informative and so relaxing je pense I may have missed out.
Having said that when “deep sea fishing” off Donaghadee, when the boat stopped and the boat rolled I was sick for all four hours ... je pense I made a better choice pour moi!
You are a true professional and an excellent dad, well done!
Cordialement
Robert
These vids are such an oasis of calm after the chaos of a day.... what a joy.
I am glad that we may bring you some peace Jay. 😊
I though the filming was excellent on this video, stunning sky and scenery and the the Bait Fish plus Bass and two nice Rays. As always a delight to watch and thanks for posting.
Good morning John from down under. What a relief. you showed up. I think I'm addicted to your channel. And it's great to relax and imagine I'm "out on the boat" fishing too. Not a bad addiction to have. And now my damn coffee is cold. Thank you again for sharing. Take care my friend. Atb from down here in Nz.
As far as addictions go I think its one of the better ones. 😛
@@TheFishLocker yeah mate. Addiction was the operative word back in the day. I've been through the 60's. So yes watching your channel is indeed the better type of addiction to have. Take care.
Hi John yet again fantastic video. Nice bass then some nice rays on light tackle 👌 the are great fun . That last cast trick is good done it many times BUT in my early day's of fishing missed the tide getting back to the mooring by minutes and had to spend 5 to 6 hours for tide to come back in stuck on the mud 100 yds from mooring. You then call last cast 15 mins early.
Nice to meet you today. Hope you had a good one. All the best.
I got my license to take boats out, a couple years ago and have loved the odd chance to get out on the water. Less so recently. So it's been so enjoyable to watch you get out on the water and have that feeling of being out there by yourself. Your videos never fail to entertain!
I had no idea you got salt water leaches, always learn something watching your videos 👍🏻
Good evening John, well that was a nice relaxing mornings fishing, shame the weather was turning ..... you could have carried on a bit longer. But lovely to see you again. All the very best 🌱🌱🌱💕
Excellent stuff.. I just spent the entire video explaining bass and rays to my 6 year old little girl. She watched ever bit.. wow he's got a big fish. Her words. 😀😀
My 5 year old daughter has recently took an interest in fishing too thanks to these brilliant videos!
That is wonderful to hear, there are several videos where we take our little boy fishing - if you think she would enjoy those too?
Thanks for always making my day better with these videos John
It is our pleasure, have a wonderful day. 😊
Another fine Fish Locker day out on the boat!!🎣
Any day on the water is a good day. 😊
that smile says it all , another glorious morning out on boat. well im hoping by next year my boat will be done and i can enjoy some to
Your always so happy I like it 😁
I am a happy positive person.😊
Love the new boat John, she's a beaut! I was diving here in Oman a couple of weeks ago and had a giant ray swim right over me, 4 to 5 ft wing span, one of my best life experiences. Keep up the great work mate, just love your videos.
Hey John it was nice catching you again.
Glad to have you back. 😊
A nice productive session.👏 Well explained.👌👍
Interesting all the way through.👌
Thanks John.👍
Stay safe. 😷
Thank you very much Ian. 😊
As usual John a great piece of video. You amaze me how you find the fish. You are a superb ambassador for our sport. Keep them coming.
Thank you so much! You make it look so easy, you make sure the rays were ok after catching ! My mom is French an moved here in Louisiana, she taught us when we went to Texas every summer about periwinkles, an those cockles i think you called them . There are awesome cooked in clean seawater! She also showed us about the rite size Rays that were big enough to cut certain parts of the wing ( no bones an beautiful flesh ! Any how she only harvested from ones that people who put giant saines out caught an left to long to release back an they would of ended up bird food one the beach! She cut circle( steak size) pieces an put them on ice quickly ! Took home an inspected for any parasites! She would broil with butter an garlic an it was amazing ! Have you eaten any ? An is it common where you are?
Wonderful great Mixed bag
Another beauty John. Love your videos!!!……. Thank you 👍🎣
Nice little session John. Loved the Bass and those Thornbacks just great, thanks mate for another lovely video. All the best Graham.🎣🎣🐟🐟🐟🎣🎣
Well done John lovely days fishing many thanks again.
My pleasure Keith. 😊
Thanks for the video John, those Rays were lovely looking!
I do like a thornback, cool aren't they. 😊
Another great video John great to see the fish getting caught again nice bass and rays take care
Another great video that brought back many memories. I noticed that you were back in the new boat, you're still not using it for pots. I know that I've said this before but when I did most of my bass fishing, in the early 1960s, we'd have kept those smaller fish for eating, they fit nicely in the pan or grill the bigger ones we released. There were no size limits back then, our policy was the opposite to the modern concept of only keeping the bigger fish. Eagerly awaiting the next session.
My feeling is there should be a minimum and maximum limit. I will only take fish around the 5-6lb range.
@@TheFishLockerA good idea. Back in the mid 1950s /early 1960s a 5-6lb fish would have been considered huge. I fished the coast of Sussex, UK, back then and I recall someone catching an 8lber and that was one of the largest seen. It was on the front page of the local paper and in The Angling Times.
As usual the video is utterly superb, thanks & massive respect to tha fish locker.🦑🦐🦀🦞
Once again a very entertaining video and a variety of catches, always enjoying.
Another great vid jhon cheers
My pleasure. 😊
Those whiting a good live bait, I use a tiny piece of rubber band on the hook to stop them coming off
Absolutely. 😊👍🏻
Thanks John really enjoyed
My favorite time to be out on the water!!
I like the way you handling fish ,very caring ...Nice video John..The Mackies and Coalies are going crazy up here in the East Coast of Scotland 🤩😀👍
Great haul of bass, impressive fishing . Sea birds ,( garnets , cormorants ) they are my local guides to where the fish are !
They are mine too. 😊
That was a heck of a Bass Bite!
Your videos are just soooo relaxing
All kinds of rays. Except for the sun kind.👍🍺
Brilliant video love watching these videos. 👍👍👏👏👏👏
Another fun day Sunday. 👍
Another great day out john 👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Sea fishing
Strike...... 👍
Nice vidio
Glad you enjoyed it. 😊
always a pleasure!
Brilliant mate! 🐟🐟🐟
Olá meu amigo boa tarde 🤩 que lugar lindo lancha ótimo 😍👍
Nice video . I had a thornback on few weeks ago . Hardly even a bite on the rod just little knock. Then when went to reel in it was like a ton of bricks . Was 6.1 kilo . But not so much fighting as u say but felt so heavy an had to do lot pulling to get it up
Well done Sean, that is a very good Thornback Ray.
Another great video great session
Another cracking video, how does he do it lol. Really enjoyed it John, and by the look on your face you just love it too, living the dream. Cheers John
Wanderful video.😊☮️
Glad you enjoyed it Ed. 😊
Great video. My 5year old daughter and me love your content
Another great video thanks John. Interesting mix of species, good bit of planning, plus you look like you avoided a soaking. Nice to see you using Abu rods - I've just bought one from the new Tormentor range, but haven't christened it yet! Looks like the Maxkerel are still scarce in the South West. Stay safe & well! 👍👍
Mackerel just seem to have disappeared this year mate. 🤷🏻♂️
Ps please keep the videos coming.love em.
Nice one dude rays....
😉
Always smiling,good on ya
The last cast….. love it, when I was a nipper, my pa would say, “;right son , last cast, I’d wish that last cast would turn into another, or a fish.
Good work, fishlocker…
Haha. I usually have about 5 last casts. 😊
Some lovely Bass ♥️ I had an idea last week when a friend was telling me about his charter trip he went on over the weekend. You should buy your own charter boat, you’d be booked up every week of the year, I’m sure there’d be loads of people who’d love a day out on the boat with you 👍🏼
Keep it up love the videos they make my day
The startup costs for something like that are very high, and I wouldn't be able to continue making videos either.
@@TheFishLocker yeah I imagine they aren’t cheap! Good point, I’d miss the videos every week!
Don’t you ever get tired of posting helpful & informative videos?………….. hopefully the answer to that is no lol. Down there in a couple of weeks and hired a boat to fish the estuary, so perfect timing John as we were wondering what it was like 👍🏻 Top man.
Great video as always btw!
Thank you Peter. 😊
Lovely it was on the lake there then :) Is very nice when it is completely quiet around you! Always enjoy your videos! I myself was out filming a kayak trip on the fjord, it was completely quiet and sunny. Had hoped that porpoises would show up but I was content with 3 cormorants fishing around me! Wishing you a glorious Sunday ahead!
Your comment shows mind at peace , content with the nature around you . Same to John plus he is one heck of a good fishermen too .
@@BigDsGaming2022 Yes I think he is a very good fisherman! He has a very calm and relaxing way he explains things and his videos I find very informative!
@@hikingwithadhdbrain2022 good hangs with good I totally agree
Great video, please do catch and cook fish if possible
We have a couple in editing. 😉
Thank you for this
Check that smile @ 0.03... You sir are in your element :-) Tight lines my friend B-)
Another cracking video
Glad you enjoyed it mate. 😊
"Brilliant" indeed John. I do so admire your adherence to Conservation. Always. One quesstion. You mentioned when landing one of the smaller Bass that it was below the minimum landing size. What would that be for your area please John? Another crackin' video. Thank you.
Minimum is 42cms I think, but most conservation anglers put anything below about 48 back.
As Trampster has said Mike. 42cm. But I have a general size limit and cap on any fish I will take. 5-6lb is best IMO.
@@TheFishLocker My thanks to both you John and @Trampster for that. 'Tight lines' both!
Bull huss often knock hard but do not really do anything but mouth the bait, I’d like a penny for every one that has let me wind it up to the surface, opened it’s mouth and swum gently off again ! you can tell the minute you see them, because the hook is outside the mouth.
Have you ever thought about getting a waterwolf John? Would be great to see underwater footage when you're fishing with leads on sandbanks or even lure fishing.
Check out our underwater videos playlist.
@@TheFishLocker I meant to tie to the line itself so the lure follows the camera & catches the bite. I don't know if the water clarity would be good enough though to have the camera moving through the water :-)
Thumbs Up John.... Del..
👍👍
Better weather than here!!!
Still no sun since June! 🤬
😢😢😢
What's with the inshore fishing here lol. At St Austell and there is nothing to be had from the Kayak. Keep making me jealous tho. Love the videos 😊
Its been a weird year for it hasn't it. 🤷🏻♂️
Great video John , could you do a in depth video on using the echo sounder
I have one on the channel already. I will do a new one with this chart/sounder when I get chance. 😊
I caught a two pound mackerel off mylor which i was proud off 😊
I love your new boat, do you? It is great.
Salut à vous belle vidéo intéressante c'est une belle pêche à bientôt l'ami Matt
Shiny new boat for fishing, old pride and joy relegated to crab potting.
Haha.
Blessed by a fish slap :-)
Its not my first and doubt it will be my last. 🤣
i think its that time of the year for some live baiting for Porbeagle or Blue shark (blu% f*n t&na) if you know what i mean!
Hi John, i'm going to work on the scillys in a couple of weeks, and hope to get some fishing in , in the evenings. If you were planning this trip, bearing in mind I have nowhere to keep bait! what would you take??
I'm sure that last ray ended up grateful you'd decided 'just five more minutes; just one more cast', since you got that awful leech off him!
It was the least I could do for him. 😊
Another great video!! Lots of action with different types of fish. I am heading out tomorrow to fish a wreck, thanks for all the info about wreck fishing you provided. John how do you like the DJI camera so far?
Pros and cons mate. Day time recording is good/night time not so good.
What might you catch in British waters if you fished half a fair-sized crab with the shell and legs on? I watched a guy in Florida catching fish on it.
Bass and bream most likely.
John, I’ve been a subscriber and follower for a couple of years but I can’t remember you catching Spurdog.
Are they about in the South West or are they more common off the Scottish coast? Cracking video as always..
Another great video 👍 I know it's got nothing to do with this vid, but as a subscriber I've always loved seeing James ( Fish locker jnr) - just curious as to if his health is still good. Love to your family ❤️
Hi Caroline, most of the recent videos have involved a very early start - and James IMO should be allowed to sleep in. But don't worry, he will be making an appearance soon. 😉
@@TheFishLocker great to hear, And agreed- let him sleep in 😊 I enjoy every episode, he just makes my day
John loving the videos fella, even my family are into them now. Can I ask is it Navionics you use to map out shore marks,? I know you mentioned one in one video. Damned if I can find it lol.
Just google. "Fishlocker - How to find the fishing spot"
Do I keep getting a sight of St Anthony's lighthouse in the background?
In some of the videos. 😊
Hi! One of my biggest problems when going looking for bass to lure fish like you are here off the boat, is where best to fish! Does one of your videos help me on this? I have had a bit of success from shore but when out on the boat i find myself burning a load of fuel for small percentage return. Any help very gratefully received! Cheers, Matt
You can apply the same principles as you do when shore fishing. 😊
Hi there John can you do catch and cook a bullhuss please
I will ask Jim at Spargos Kitchen. 😊
That last cast can get you into serious trouble with the misses. When you tell her last cast and your still not home 3hrs later..
Haha. My wife has learned what it means now. 🤣
I’ve just made a rhubarb crumble 👍
Hi John, are these rays you caught the same fish in fish and chip shops called 'skate and chips'?
They might be, skate at the chip shop could be any one fo a few species all under one name.
Nice bass going out Monday do you use patchinko
Strike up the bands John's play bass
Haha.
Hello John, how come you use braid over mono? Slowly getting into sea fishing so it’s might be a newbie comment. Loving the vids keep it up 👍🏼
I have some videos covering the basics both on this channel and on the Fishlocker workshop. Have a look in the "Shore fishing for beginners playlist"
nice
It is frightening to think what used to be legal landing size!
Yes it is. But thankfully people are now more conservationally aware
