It was awkward hearing the fans chanting his name. I got the vibe it was mockery, but, it's really not inline with that that building tends to do to former players. Especially former players that really positively impacted the team like Talbot did.
I would imagine they would have more respect for the guy, and maybe I just misread it. Talbot was a great Oiler, and played his heart out for that team. Gave them some amazing games, and some bad games, but he always played his best for those fans.
Personally, I still like Talbot, and like to see him do well. I don't hope the Kings win or anything, but, I've liked seeing Talbot go on to have good years after moving on from Edmonton. I hope he doesn't get embarrassed in this series, is all.

You could tell at the end there he really wanted at least one goal. That end to end rush where he missed the wraparound by about an inch. That was 2022 McDavid. But importantly he only let the monster out of the cage after securing the win.
Despite the 0G 5A. I felt that Mcdavid was actually trying to score again, he had a few grade A chances and wasn't passing everything off like he was to finish off the season getting that 100 mark. I'm expecting quite a few goals from him to come

To see the true progression in McDavid and his game and decision making is cathartic. Yeah hes always got that insane scoring touch and can overpower on his own, but hes truly spreading the love and has been electric to watch. Hes feeding that hot hand and benefiting

Mcdavid is the modern day great one .. especially this year the way he’s master planning assists. Hymans finish is no fluke also and not just a byproduct. Guy has to read and finish and be in the right place ready for what mcnugget is cooking. What a connection

I completely agree with you. I was watching that last Kings/Chicago game where they got to choose their playoff opponent and they deliberately chose the Oilers. The Oilers are one of the few teams that figured out how to defeat the 1-3-1 due to so many games with the Kings. I just think it was a huge mistake on their part and they would have done much better going against Dallas. But it's only one game. Maybe the Kings win the next 4 and prove they were right.

The Kings did the Golden Knights the biggest favor by beating Chicago on the last game of the season. I remember the war of wars that we had the Edmonton last season and I am in no hurry to repeat that.
If LA gets one game out of this series, they will have done well. Edmonton is focused and hungry. If Vegas meets Edmonton in the Conference Final it is going to be the war of wars. I´m glad I have two rounds to have something go differently, because I don´t want that...wait, maybe I do.

The kings got the upper hand on edm the last 2 years, up 2-1 and 3-2 the year before. This year i feel like they arent going to make it a series.
EDM should take this series 9/10 times, but, I will give this Kings team the respect it deserves. They are far more resilient than they showed in Game 1.
I wouldn't expect another blowout in Game 2, if even a win. Don't underestimate the drive and determination of these guys, to slay this demon.
