- The Herd are an immensely valuable tool in the arsenal of the Green Lady and for her constant struggle to find balance in the world. The despicable orcs and other evil things have a special hatred reserved for them, but even the Noble Peoples are not always content with what they have, and the Herd must fight to protect the Mother-world from predation and plunder from all quarters.
The tribes of the Shattered Clans occupy the lands around the edges of the Frozen Sea, north of the Abyss. Their domain is transient, sometimes stretching as deep into the mountains as Drakes End or east and south into the Ogre Lands. Internal savagery and bickering, and a certain wanderlust, mean their dominion over lands they have conquered can wax and wane. While they have a very different outlook on life to most other clansmen in the north, they share many similar traits and traditions and are considered to be a facet of those that people the north. In much the same way as the elves of the south view their dark cousins, so the Varangur are viewed equally with loathing, pity, and respect by their peers.
Yes I sure did mix up the rules on the Jabberwock. My bad. I had the hydra in my head. But hey it works similar it's a good finisher unit!
Through the series we have seen the beard go from impressive to phenomenal.
Yeeee! Finally the herd :)
I hope they are going to be a good list!
You guys ever gonna make another video?
Baby don't Herd me, don't Herd me, no more
We know something about the Head rules, BUT we don't know anything about thier miniatures! Will there be a dedicated model range for them? :)
Kyle, read the profile for the Jabberwock again...
Been watching lots of battle reports and tourney reports whilst building skeletons. I notice the herd (which would be my second choice for an army) don’t seem to be very common. (Except for the many games Caleb and you two play together) - Is there a reason for this? Are they seen as one of the weaker lists?
Kyle, I just got uncharted empires and am wanting to build a varangur army. I'm curious, are the clansmen / huscarls from the NA list meant to count as bloodbound when taken in the Varangur list? Thematically I would think yes but it's not clearly stated in the rules.
For some units, like snow trolls, the answer is clearly "no, they're not bloodbound" but there are some ambiguous cases like the frostfang cavalry.
This has been brought up to the RC (I'm also working on a Varangur army). As of now, they don't have the keyword. It could be something that gets an errata though. They're on a bit of a break right now for the holidays...but keep your eyes peeled.
Bit underwhelmed on the korgaan sons had a whole thematic army built around them but love the new magus. Really great unit!
You guys should do some Vanguard battle reports!
We did one sometime around 5-6 months ago but then KoW took over. Vanguard will get a good look again soon! I'd love to do more for all of the Mantic games, to be honest.
Thanks Kyle, really appreciate all of the previews, you’ve done an amazing job.
Do Herd still have access to the Brutox? Was planning an army build and purchases around certain models and was really hoping for a Herd titan
You know this makes me a bit sad. I have been working on a narnia inspired (herd with allies from FON) force for the last year. Like fauns and centaurs with elementals, tree herder and unicorns. But now i seems most likely that this force Will never be legal to play with because that theme lists cant take allies from the master list. Unless hunters of the wild, elementals etc Will be in the Herd list. :(
Do you think Tony Stark might put the herd on the Table again.
I think you've got the Hydra and Jabberwok rules mixed up Kyle.
Do the Varangur still have the wild charge rule, or do the core units loose it when used with varangur?
They keep the profile from the Northern Alliance list.
@@MasterCrafted Thanks, I was wondering as I didn't see wild charge on any of the varangur units
Your beard is touching the microphone.
What a scratchy boi.
It's like...you realize that after you've filmed it and I totally didn't have time to redo the whole thing so - meh!
