After I read about Islam for about a year , I found out that it's doctrine is the most moderate. It takes a central stand in almost everything. Take prayer for example . One extreme is to not pray and other is to abandon everything and just pray (monasticism) . Islam is at mid .

You are mistaken. There is a famous hadith that you may not have seen.
Hadith 3:551, “Allah’s Apostle said, ‘While a man was walking he felt thirsty and went down a well and drank water from it. On coming out of it, he saw a dog panting and eating mud because of excessive thirst. The man said, ‘This (dog) is suffering from the same problem as that of mine. So he went down again into the well, filled his shoe with water, caught hold of it with his teeth, and climbed up and watered the dog. Allah thanked him for his good deed and forgave him.’ The people asked, ‘O Allah’s Apostle! Is there a reward for us in serving animals?’ He replied, “Yes, there is a reward for serving any animal.”

Islam did not become a majority religion in the conquered areas until about the 900s. Which shows it took centuries for people to convert to Islam, which also shows people gradually converted by their own free will. The same simply can’t be said about how Christianity was spread, where we know for a fact that Christianity was spread by the sword.

      @dionysianapollomarx Před 3 lety +1

Yes, Christianity was spread by the sword during the Late Antiquity and Medieval period and after. But, this was much less the case before the influence of the tradition of Gnosticism. This tradition is where the claim that arguing against their interpretation of scripture is a sign of Satan's influence on the person arguing against them. You will find many Christian denominations have absorbed this influence, and I have little doubt that its thanks to the Byzantine turn in Roman imperialism that aspects of Gnosticism were retained. Before Rome became Christian, Christianity spread because a kinder alternative to Roman rule was being searched for by many imperial citizens in the East and West. After, the political circumstance of needing to defend existing power structures became a prerogative to be more imperialistic in spreading the message of Scripture.

The Muslim occupation of Spain took place over some 800 years and led to many hundred of thousands of death. @@nukeplatine It is related. If you're, then whether peace is due or not is none of your business. Your business in this world is to be passive and submissive to the rulers o world( Romans 13) , and to not resist evil. Your job is to wait the messiah. That's all.
Regarding the greatest man who has evere lived on this earth, the prophet peace be upon him
“ *Never has a man proposed for himself, voluntarily or involuntarily, a goal more sublime, since this goal was beyond measure: undermine the superstitions placed between the creature and the Creator, give back God to man and man to God, reinstate the rational and saintly idea of divinity in the midst of this prevailing chaos of material and disfigured gods of idolatry.*
*Never has a man accomplished in such a short time such an immense and long lasting revolution in the world, since less than two centuries after his predication, Islam, preaching and armed, ruled over three Arabias, and conquered to God’s unity Persia, the Khorasan, Transoxania, Western India, Syria, Egypt, Ethiopia, and all the known continent of Southern Africa, many islands of the Mediterranean, Spain and part of Gaul.*
*If the grandeur of the aim, the smallness of the means, the immensity of the results are the three measures of a man’s genius, who would dare humanly compare a great man of modern history with Muhammad?*
*The most famous have only moved weapons, laws, empires; they founded, when they founded anything, only material powers, often crumbling before them. This man not only moved armies, legislation, empires, peoples, dynasties, millions of men over a third of the inhabited globe; but he also moved ideas, beliefs, souls. He founded upon a book, of which each letter has become a law, a spiritual nationality embracing people of all languages and races; and made an indelible imprint upon this Muslim nation, for the hatred of false gods and the passion for the God, One and Immaterial.*
*Philosopher, orator, apostle, legislator, warrior, conqueror of ideas, restorer of a rational dogma for a cult without imagery, founder of twenty earthly empires and of one spiritual empire, this is Muhammad.*
*Of all the scales by which one measures human grandeur, which man has been greater* …”

Could you please recommend a biography of the Prophet Muhammad that makes a rational case for the unique nobility of the Prophet, especially in the context of other well regarded religious figures like the Buddha and Jesus? Many a times Muslims' reverence towards our Prophet is inherited from family and culture, and we are ignorant about the great qualities of our Prophet.

On the subject of empires ... can you discuss the letter of the prophet pbuh to Heraclius... on the matter of Arius and Arianism. Where the Prophet clearly threatened Heraclius in his letter... “If you (Heraclius) turn away, you will bear the Arians’ sins” ... is this not a clear message that the council of Nicea was corrupt and Arius was killed by the Byzantine empire! This is as early as Christianity gets ! Its a core subject and I would love to hear your take on it... kind regards

One of the most important Hadith for the Prophet Muhammad PBUH for me is this Hadith
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: "When a son of Adam (i.e. any human being) dies his deeds are discontinued, with three exceptions: Sadaqah, whose benefit is continuous; or knowledge from which benefit continues to be reaped, or a righteous child who supplicates for him." [Reported by Muslim].
What is astonishingly in this Hadith is that it includes all humans and not only Muslims. The Prophet mentioned here son of Adam, it means everyone even the unbelievers. And this summarize the message of the Prophet to all mankind. For example if an Atheist came out with a science that benefit humanity, he will receive good deeds for his contribution to humanity when anyone in the future benefit from his science. You can’t find this in any religion, we don’t have this with any Prophet before. So a non believer who do charity like building a school for the poor he would still receive good deeds after his death, what an astonishing fact, here you would ask, what this will benefit him if he is not a believer, and this shows you some cracks of our Islamic understanding.
Before, the Jews kept the religion for themselves, for their tribes, although Abraham had a massage for humanity and not only for the Jews, Christianity and Jesus came to correct this, and this is why Christianity expanded rapidly, but later altered and became the only option of Salvation, ie, other beliefs are all wrong. Islam came with the concept of including the Abrahamic faith, and expanded it to anyone one who believe in one God and Judgement day. With this hadith, it includes everyone even the non believers WHY
The answer is simple, because God says the he will forgive even some of the non believers even and send them to heaven, especially who were good people in their life
The concept here is not only the belief will save you only, your contribution to your society matters too

He said on page 8 that, “History makes it clear, that the legend of fanatical Muslims sweeping through the world and forcing Islam at the point of the sword upon conquered races, is one of the most fantastically absurd myths that historians have ever repeated”. Nine million Christians in Arab nations from generations is a witness to that. The whole of Indonesia becoming Muslim without a war ever taking place in that country is adding to that as well.
