- Everything YOU need to know to visit Vancouver Canada. Despite it's rainy and cold reputation, Vancouver is an amazing city to travel to. Vancouver is the largest metropolitan area in Western Canada, and third largest in Canada, with a population of 2.6 million. Located in the southwestern corner British Columbia, it’s a big modern city nestled in a coastal rainforest. Vancouver is often voted one of the world’s most livable cities.

You can tell you are a great dad. The little princess is mesmerized by you as you are talking (especially in the beginning of this video). Lovely family. God Bless.
Awww.. thanks Tony!
What a beautiful comment!
I’m from Vancouver but watched anyways haha. Sometimes you find things that even locals don’t know 😎
Your daughter is such a gem! What a lovely addition to the video. 🤗
Thanks Anita!
Love how this video contains hidden gems you can’t easily find by just looking them up. Very helpful!
Thorough video. Just a few corrections- in Canada we say First Nations not Native American and we have provinces, not states so it’s the province of British Columbia
Did you really have to fix the later? I’m a local too
Your cops are called mounties and you guys pronounce the word "out" "oot" and you guys celebrate Thanksgiving on October, and what's up with Lonnie toonie 😂😂
@@kartikey92Average American who believes that everything in America is the standard and should be the norm, sit down buddy, nobody gives a shit
Also YVR is not Canada’s busiest airport! That title belongs to Toronto-Pearson, YVR is second, but who really cares aside from aviation nerds like me 🤷♂️
@@kartikey92no we don't call our cops mounties, mounties are really only cops who ride horses and are more akin to something like the royal guard in the UK. Our actual police force is called the RCMP, royal Canadian mounted police (back from when they all DID ride horses). The Canadian accent is really more of a thing with older rural canadians, it's like Canada's version of a southern drawl but most of us don't talk like that at all. We celebrate Thanksgiving in October because our harvest season is traditionally earlier due to the fact it gets colder faster here and Thanksgiving is a harvest based festival. And the coin thing is pretty simple, we have one and two dollar coins, the one dollar coins have a bird called a "loon" on them so when they came out people started calling them loonies and then canadians being canadians decided pay as well call the two dollar ones "toonies"
As a local, this was lots of fun to watch, well done! Just a head's up on a coupe of things - Queen Elizabeth Park was mistakenly called Queen Victoria Park early on, in the parking portion; Granville Island is not actually an island but a peninsula, accessible by anyone, and the St Regis Hotel in Vancouver is not a luxury hotel, but a 3-star (barely), not to be confused with other luxury St Regis Hotels. The rest was spot-on, thanks! Nice to see the Lynn Valley Suspension Bridge mentioned!
Thanks for the corrections John!
I caught that Queen park faux pas, and I'm from Kansas City!
I'm surprised you didn't mention the Native Americans or the Canadian State of British Columbia
What sort of weather can I expect in mid September?
Super informative! thank you!
Love it!
Great to see Vancouver pictured in its rainy season.
Okay so this is easily the best video about visiting Vancouver I’ve ever seen. Thank you for covering every detail. Your co-host is adorable by the way.
Wow, thank you!
I agree. I've watched several Vancouver videos, and this is the best one - by far!! 😁
Great video Chris as always! Keep up the great work!
Thanks Mauricio!
I'm as entertained by your sweet little daughter as I am by Vancouver, lol! Great job by both of you!
Awesome! Thank you!
Thank you for making this video! Vancouver has actually been on my bucket list for several years. This is great information to help me plan a trip!
Thanks John!
One thing you will wanna look for that wasn't mentioned is prob finding an airbnb by a skytrain, you can stay as far away as Surrey and make it into Vancouver in less then 40 mins
Vancouver is a beautiful city, i can't wait to visit again. Thanks for the great tips!
That was a great informative video. I love the rain and all the green in Raincoover!
great guide. informative and helpful.
Excellent video ! So much great information. It's one of the only Provinces I haven't been to as of yet being Canadian. The food looks amazing and so does the shopping. Thanks so much Chris, adding Vancouver to my list.
Thanks Colleen!
appreciate your time. we've watched your videos for Las Vegas, Hawaii and now Vancouver. Thanks again 👍
:)... "Native Americans in Canada"... First Nations ... Vancouver is very inclusive of the First Nations within BC lower mainland... acknowledging unceded territories of the local First Nations. The city is one of the best variation of foods... not just Chinese and Japanese... other popular foods are Korean, ,Indian and all types of fried chicken. another great walk is the Coal Harbor waterfront... nice places throughout the city to meander... Commercial Drive, Main street, Crystal Mall (adjacent to Metrotown) has a good food court...
"First Nations ... Vancouver is very inclusive of the First Nations within BC lower mainland..." Calling them First Nations is now faux pas they are called Indigenous peoples you bigot ......
This is true your missing out on some of the best Indian, Korean and Vietnamese cuisine. The Punjabi people basically built this province in the 50s and 60s they have some of the best food.
This video is so helpful!
great video, to the point!
One of the more accurate videos about Rain-couver. If you love Asian food, this is the place to come to. If you like to pay for parking everywhere you go. This is also the city to come to. Mind you, most shopping malls OUTSIDE of downtown will have free parking --- and all the same mall stores).
If you want to avoid the rain, then late June to Mid August is generally warm and sunny. September is not bad either. If you like rain, then show up in late October and stay until Mid April. Vancouver will cure you of your love for rain.
🙂
Thanks for the extra tips on Rain-couver farkin!
I’ll be there late October! It works for our schedule so this tip is helpful 👍🏼🙂
The rain makes green and beautiful.

08:40 Mazesoba opened another stop in metrotown (Station Square) near the 08:10 suggested dim sum spot. Meanwhile, for truly amazing ramen/Japanese noodle, I would recommend the newly opened Menya Itto on the Robson Street

Thank you for the video! I will definitely keep these tips in mind when I get a chance to get to Vancouver. I've been to quite a few Canadian cities (mostly in the eastern half), but Vancouver is next on my list to visit. I really like the views from those two bridges!
Thanks Scott! Hopefully this comes in handy for your future Vancouver visit. What's been your favorite Canadian city so far?
@@YellowProductions I really enjoyed Toronto although Montreal is a close second. There are a lot of great food places, and the sights there are quite impressive. It was really cool to go up the CN Tower and be able to look down on the glass floor so high up from the surface! Quebec City is another city I want to visit too.
@@scottman895 Thanks. I'll keep those in mind as we plan other Canadian adventures!
If you go to Vancouver make time For Whistler , approx two hours east , winter or summer , Another place is Vancouver island the west side long beach the drive from the ferry is fantastic, Also to the south end of The island Victoria city , , Another option if you have a rental car is the Okanagon valley this is desert semi desert type valley with big lakes on the valley floor this valley is a grape growing place , look on CZcams Okanagon valley pictures you will see how nice it is , , Vancouver has a huge Asian population over one million , Chinese, Filipino, East Indian , Korean , this means great food everywhere including out in the suburbs,
Nice video! I’m a born and raised Vancouverite … now living in Auckland. This is a great cure for my homesickness and a great guide for future visitors. 👍
