Oh my ! I’m all but crying in memory of a Special friend Mike Rush ! This was his travel song for work on the road having to travel for work ! I miss you dearly Mike ! 💕🙏!
I saw Brother Bob in the late 70's and about 10 times in the 80's. One of the best of all time. Thank you for the music that filled my life then and now.
it is astonishing to someone not born in the '70s to hear something so timeless that was released in 1973. this could easily be a song from the '80s or the '90s or any time, really, as long as you take out the saxomophones. they're the only thing that date this song, but even then it seems more '80s than '70s. it's a weird one. really great songs are like that - they don't sound like the time they were written or recorded in, they just sound like great songs.
On a long and lonesome highway East of Omaha You can listen to the engine Moanin' out his one note song You can think about the woman Or the girl you knew the night before But your thoughts will soon be wandering The way they always do When you're ridin' sixteen hours And there's nothin' much to do And you don't feel much like ridin' You just wish the trip was through See here I am On the road again There I am Up on the stage Here I go Playin' star again There I go Turn the page Well you walk into a restaurant Strung out from the road And you feel the eyes upon you As you're shakin' off the cold You pretend it doesn't bother you But you just want to explode Most times you can't hear 'em talk Other times you can All the same old cliches "Is that a woman or a man?" And you always seem outnumbered You don't dare make a stand Here I am On the road again There I am Up on the stage Here I go Playin' star again There I go Turn the page Out there in the spotlight You're a million miles away Every ounce of energy You try to give away As the sweat pours out your body Like the music that you play Later in the evening As you lie awake in bed With the echoes from the amplifiers Ringin' in your head You smoke the day's last cigarette Rememberin' what she said Here I am On the road again There I am Up on the stage Here I go Playin' star again There I go Turn the page Here I am On the road again There I am Up on the stage Here I go Playin' star again There I go There I go
One night a long time ago when i drove a truck over the road, it was about two in the morning going from Omaha to Lincoln Nebraska this song came on the radio, snow on the ground with a full moon, great memory
I saw Bob Seeger back in the day. He opened for Bachman Turner Overdrive. When BTO took the stage it (the concert) became anticlimactic. The Siver Bullet Band rocked Avery Fisher Hall now the New York Philharmonic. One of the best shows I’ve ever seen out of over some 200 bands in total. We weren’t the only ones that left after BTO’s first set. Seger satisfied me and my buds!
First time I heard this song was in 1989 doing towwork picking up barges near Dubuque IA. The towboat pilot played this over the loudspeakers as the searchlights swung around the barges.
Em uma longa e solitária estrada a leste de Omaha você pode ouvir o som do motor rodando como uma longa canção você pode pensar sobre a mulher ou a garota que você conheceu na noite anterior mas seus pensamentos estarão logo vagando como sempre fazem quando você está viajando a dezesseis horas e não há muito o que fazer e você não está muito a fim de viajar você apenas deseja que a viagem estivesse terminada e aqui estou eu, na estrada de novo lá estou eu em cima do palco aqui vou eu brincando de estrela de novo lá vou eu viro a página bem, você entra em um restaurante enjoado da estrada e você sente os olhos sobre você enquanto você tenta espantar o frio você finge que aquilo não o incomoda mas quer apenas explodir na maioria das vezes você consegue ouví-los dizer em outras não os mesmos velhos clichês, "Aquilo é homem ou mulher?" e você sempre parece em minoria você não se atreve a discutir aqui estou eu na estrada de novo lá estou eu em cima do palco aqui vou eu brincando de estrela de novo lá vou eu viro a página Lá fora sob os refletores você está a um milhão de milhas de distância cada grama (onça) de energia você tenta entregar conforme o suor sai de seu corpo como a música que você toca Mais tarde naquela noite enquanto você está deitado acordado na cama com os ecos dos amplificadores zunindo na sua cabeça você fuma o último cigarro do dia lembrando o que ela disse aqui estou eu na estrada de novo lá estou eu em cima do palco aqui vou eu brincando de estrela de novo lá vou eu viro a página aqui estou eu na estrada de novo lá estou eu em cima do palco aqui vou eu brincando de estrela de novo lá vou eu viro a página Turn the Page On a long and lonesome highway East of Omaha You can listen to the engine moanin' out his one note song You can think about the woman or the girl you knew the night before But your thoughts will soon be wandering the way they always do When you're ridin' sixteen hours and there's nothin' much to do And you don't feel much like ridin', you just wish the trip was through Here I am On the road again There I am Up on the stage Here I go Playin' star again There I go Turn the page Well you walk into a restaurant, strung out from the road And you feel the eyes upon you as you're shakin' off the cold You pretend it doesn't bother you but you just want to explode Most times you can't hear 'em talk, other times you can All the same old cliches, "Is that a woman or a man?" Goes to show how much of a Champ Bob .Seager really was.
I graduated high school at age seventeen in 1973. This song is my favorite of all time.
One of The Most Amazing Songs Ever Written
Tells The Story Only Few Knew
Bob Seger Amazing
Saw Seger in 1978 in Charlotte. Two weeks later saw him in Greensboro. Live with the saxophone cannot be matched.

I love the fact that I grew up with this!!
On a long and lonesome highway
East of Omaha
You can listen to the engine
Moanin' out his one note song
You can think about the woman
Or the girl you knew the night before
But your thoughts will soon be wandering
The way they always do
When you're ridin' sixteen hours
And there's nothin' much to do
And you don't feel much like ridin'
You just wish the trip was through
See here I am
On the road again
There I am
Up on the stage
Here I go
Playin' star again
There I go
Turn the page
Well you walk into a restaurant
Strung out from the road
And you feel the eyes upon you
As you're shakin' off the cold
You pretend it doesn't bother you
But you just want to explode
Most times you can't hear 'em talk
Other times you can
All the same old cliches
"Is that a woman or a man?"
And you always seem outnumbered
You don't dare make a stand
Here I am
On the road again
There I am
Up on the stage
Here I go
Playin' star again
There I go
Turn the page
Out there in the spotlight
You're a million miles away
Every ounce of energy
You try to give away
As the sweat pours out your body
Like the music that you play
Later in the evening
As you lie awake in bed
With the echoes from the amplifiers
Ringin' in your head
You smoke the day's last cigarette
Rememberin' what she said
Here I am
On the road again
There I am
Up on the stage
Here I go
Playin' star again
There I go
Turn the page
Here I am
On the road again
There I am
Up on the stage
Here I go
Playin' star again
There I go
There I go

Gives me chills
You put the Metallica's version on. It must be "there" instead "much" and no "up" just "on the stage".
Superb 👍🏻🏴
Real music
Absolutely 👍❤️

Unreal, awesome thanks so much
First time I heard this song was in 1989 doing towwork picking up barges near Dubuque IA.
The towboat pilot played this over the loudspeakers as the searchlights swung around the barges.
It would be nice if someone could make a song about the life of a truck driver in this style.
My dad likes this song
This is so damned good in spite of the trite lyrics.
Bob segar

viro a página
viro a página
você fuma o último cigarro do dia
lembrando o que ela disse
aqui estou eu na estrada de novo
lá estou eu em cima do palco
aqui vou eu brincando de estrela de novo
lá vou eu
viro a página
aqui estou eu na estrada de novo
lá estou eu em cima do palco
aqui vou eu brincando de estrela de novo
lá vou eu

Please respond so I know you are real
Remember I A T B T Y H E H !!!! T B W T !!! I’ll send pic tomorrow…. That was you asking for one, right?? Had surgery on my back yesterday…. K.
Plz respond 3/1/24
not bob seger
...the audio tracking is out of sync with the film...
My step dad brother and uncle and a drink driven kill hit on his bike
This isn't Bob Seger.
Is it woman? Is it man? I remember: Is that a woman or a man
Because he changed the lyrics for Live Bullet.
Needless to say, the album version is orders of magnitide superior to Live Bullet.
This isn’t bob singing.
This is in fact Bob singing 😂
He changed the lyrics for silver bullet
He stole this from Metallica!
Most times you can't hear 'em talk, other times you can
All the same old clichés, "Is it woman, is it trans?"
Doesn’t sound like Seger! fU
