One would argue the numbers but inflation under Trump was between 1-2%. Under Biden, we've reached 9% which was painful to everyone. Suffice to say we need to control government spending as to minimize the chaotic nature of our national debt. Despite what people charactize him as an imperfect person, my financial situation and future outlook was better off under President Trump than Biden. Trump 2024!

Basically, the fiscal situation gets so bad that the Fed is no longer able to operate with its normal monetary policy mandates or effectiveness. Whether they are forthright about it publicly(they probably won’t be), their sole function becomes to support the US government’s ability to function and NOT it’s 2 mandates of low inflation, high employment. At the moment, we are sort of straddling between effective monetary policy and fiscal dominance. The bank failures last year, and immediate bail out, were a flash of fiscal dominance. The treasury market almost blew up so the Fed intervened by printing money even though they were in the middle of fighting inflation.

Me as a single taxpayer making roughly 75,000 my taxes will go up 1700 a year. My son who makes close to 200,000 with kids will go up 7200 a year. Good news though those who live in high tax states will be able to claim all their taxes on their return. Trump had it capped at 10,000.
