- Can I Survive a DEATH ISLAND in Factorio? (100 Days) - technically a PENINSULA but that didn't sound as cool so I just went with it

The spaghetti is the best BUS.
Nah sushi is superior
I honestly have no idea
(i couldn't buy and play the game 🥲)
I'm more partial to the rotini bus myself.
Hi Troopy. Can I call you Troopy?

Reducing 36hrs into a 13min video is absolutely crazy
That means the video is only .6% of what actually happened, and AA is hiding 99.4% of his true power
When markiplier played project zomboid challenge the first time the raw footage was 1 day and 22 hrs. And let's not talk about LGIO Insane what length some guys go.
@@SumirevinsLGIO condenses 100 hours into an 8 minute video
a little martincitopants feeling to it, the best mix
hiding 99.4% of his fumbling around with belts to make a half efficient production line 🤣
@@Sumirevins No, the timestamp in that video was misinterpreted. It's only an hour and a half.
Only one ingame night is seen as passing (days in PZ are an hour long) and he looks the same for the entire duration of the video, he was not playing for 46 hours lmao.
Factorio returns on an i̵s̵l̵a̵n̵d̵ PENINSULA
Also thanks to Y4 from Twitter for the cool pixel art for this one - check descrip for his page it's really something
I love your factorio videos
I watched some of your old factorio and now you have me blessed me
Why not build a land bridge straight to the iron?
Bro I’ve been watching your old factorio vids, really glad you are revisiting it
Gotta say, this video has INCREDIBLE editing and presentation, not saying your other videos aren't great but you gained a level with this one.
After watching DoshDoshington I thought this video would be boring, but I guess people suffering in Factorio never gets old.
there is low level suffering and there is Dosh level suffering
@@andreasspachmuller7002there is miserable hellish levels of suffering and then there is Dosh levels of suffering.
A fellow connoisseur of suffering, eh?
Dosh has a different breed of self-harm via Factorio.
I thought I was watching dosh for a while and I was so confused why he was saying death world was hard and that he's never won the game before considering what he's been through in his recent playthroughs lol
DEEP ROCK MENTIONED ROCK AND STONE

i must say sir that this very video you uploaded here on this very day not very long ago, is in fact with next to no doubts, a video that i will enjoy.
Very thank

5:40 "We can finally place these turrets in the south, to deal with the biter problem once and for all... for now" 😂 That's the realest quote I have ever heard, lol!
@KibblesJack Looking forward on your next unhinged videos about dr kragenwagen
Temporary 'solutions' are always the longest lasting.
Accidentally started the video while my computer was muted, paused it 5 seconds in, reset my audio and restarted the video, I'm not going to miss my "~Hello~"> Pushes play, "~Howdy-Ho~" I hit pause and sit in stunned silence for 30 seconds.
I feel betrayed too.
Quick tip, bots can auto repair stuff in a bot towers build radius (the green square) so if you automate and add walls and repair packs to your trains, then have those added to a logistics network out in the outpost, the bots in towers that the walls are within, will auto replace any broken walls, and repair anything damaged. Crucial part of keeping outpost going.
"To understand -THE BUS-, The BLUNDERbus"
The Cobblestone really ties the base together.
The Biters are not the issue here, Dude!
@@Beckipedia Where you going dude?
I’m Running Donnie!
…Biters are breaking through Dude
Thank you Donnie!
This weirdly feels more like an AA video then some recent AA videos.
Good work!
Credit it to you 99% of the big name people who play factorio waterfall themselves into an island so they can't lose, but you used a peninsula 😅
I knew what was coming as soon as I saw you use like 10 laser turrets total to defend that giant iron outpost on a hell world.
Organic spaghetti content is always better than super cuts of clean gameplay unless it's a theory video.
Mmm spaghetti
The frog hands are cursed and will forever haunt my dreams
Lasers really don't do too much until you have all the damage/firerate researches finished, if not several of the infinite damage researches.
Lasers work really well as support for the regular turrets in my experience.
It's really about the flame turrets. Dosh went full engineer and mathed out the cost of bullets and lasers versus pollution produced. It is a rush to flame turrets and pretty much just solely using them after.
But regular turrets consume iron via ammo. While laser turrets are often a less ideal choice, in this situation he was smart to go with the option that let him conserve his finite iron resource long enough to secure a better supply.
@@johnbenbob2000 The iron wouldn't be finite if he had actually defended it
Even if you completely ignore the energy costs, the raw iron cost of a single laser turret is equal to more than 30 yellow magazines, which is 5 big biters worth of bullets with just the yellow projectile damage tech.
If you are including the power to shoot the turrets, it gets even worse, as an un-upgraded laser turret takes 3.75 pieces of coal to kill a single big biter, or half that with energy damage 4 tech.
the radar friendly-fire incident at 12:11 got me good 💀probs cause you said nothing about it whatsoever lmaooo
cutting 36 hours into 13 mins, thats amazingly crazy dude. i would have left so much in
Thank you for more Factorio videos!
Always been a huge fan of these types of resource gathering games with automation. I honestly just really love miners.
D:
u and me both ;)
You know, sometimes I forget the amount of effort and drive that goes into most of your work, thank you.
"Howdy-ho, and welcome back to another bad video" ok I'm in what've you got
I have no idea what i just watched, but it was fascinating
I’ve been watching your videos for years and it’s super fun to see you play a game that I’m very familiar with! Thanks.
Interesting seeing someone non-nordic using Ä correctly. The most descriptive of frustration sounds, "ähh". 😂 Happy to see it.
I love the editing and quality of it. For example the following of inserters or when you placed down the labs in the beginning with this mini screen shake. Perfect
Been watching AA for literal years now but this video somehow felt even more ambiguous than any before it. Keep it up big guy, erm, Amphibian!
this new editing style has me howling. it's the classic amphi- ambi- phibi-, (one of these nicknames will stick), *ambiguous* style with just a few more edits here and there to work towards the perfect essence of phibi videos (told you). I am so excited for the next one :D
The new pixel sprites by y4chnyy are amazing too!
Amphibious?
I enjoy all your videos, but being a big fan of factorio and your earlier factorio videos, I’m so excited for this series to continue!
I love your factorio vids. The robot port in your armour makes building outposts trivial if you have the blueprints ready to go.
I love your factorio videos. Makes me want to replay the game again. For I too have never finished this game. I get stuck and mind boggled with the sheer volume of what I need to make for science.
I dunno what's scarier. Deathworld bugs. Or your ability to literally shrink time from 4 days to a morning coffee-sized video.
Great to see you expand into Factorio!
I love this series already, excited to see more
Nooooo its 2 days old! Its like when you find out your favorite show has a second season just to find out its still on the assembly lines of quality production as nothing is better then science. Especially purple science.
Thank you for fulfilling your promise and bringing back Factorio!!
Man, it's been 2 years since I fell asleep to the soothing dulcet tones of the AA meeting. This was like taking a warm bubble bath while wrapped in silk. Thanks Mr. Phibian, I hope you have a more than adequate day!
It's cool to see your video style keep evolving
Really loving how AA's editing style has some clear influence, yet, it is still in a style that is uniquely is. Gj, I like. :)
Spaghetti base is the true big brain move
This run is looking really good, and now that you understand factorio more, i can also learn more :)
it's been a while since I left a comment, but it's great to see you flourishing! Keep up the great work AA!

I can't wait for the space exploration mod playthrough video. (Aka 300+ hours)
North American Martincitopants hits hard. Easiest subscription of the decade.
thanks! for welcoming me back! i love stumbling into bad videos :D
Sometimes i wish players like DoshDoshington would organize doing a coop run of Factorio, even if it was just for the memes.
This is great. Can't wait for part 2.
Super excited to see a new factorio vid..... love it
Loving the little animations and such :D
I recently got back into factorio and have gotten to about the same point in progression as the end of this video, looking forward to playing more to experience the endgame and then seeing the next video
There are some groovy dragon's teeth designs that will keep biters far enough away that they can't eat your turrets before you kill them. Also, full walls take damage from acid splash so it's cheaper to make them in layers
I love the animated intro, great job on it
As a ISP viewer... the music at the start of the video is forever seared into my brain. A peninsula that makes you weep? You could even call it a "Weeping Peninsula".
Ayee! I Loved this video last time you Should Do more of theses Challenges!
Thought 1: Good job on the video. Both editing and commentary are very well done.
Thought 2: This is Factorio and death world, which is a difficult combination to beat. Especially if you haven't beaten default settings yet.
Thought 3: The map is an island with a tiny choke point and high resources, rendering this easy mode (by Factorio standards). I'm pretty sure you can beat the game with that "starter" 2 million iron, never needing to expand out. Holding that choke point is relatively simple, even at endgame biters.
Yeah, 2 million iron is way more than needed. It's funny that he spent so much time and effort securing something which is not needed, and will probably be his doom (the laser turret spam will likely eat his coal)
AA: But Factorio takes a lot longer than that to complete...
AntiElitz: Am I a joke to you?
No idea who that is.
@@oxymoron02 Factorio speedrunner.
NGL, that's amazing that you did it in 36 hours without having done it before. If I played 36 hours of Factorio without anything in between, my brain would be soup.
love the factorio vids please more
I hope this pops up on the VOD channel so I can watch the whole thing while I suffer on my own death island

@@levispose1007 the nation must grow
Power poles were the weakpoint of that iron outpost.
A local fuel depot for flamethrowers refueled by your train would be much more consistent
I love the frog finger pointing at stuff
How have I never heard of this dude before. I could listen to him & watch his video edits for any game, for hours 😭😭
I really liked the editing, humour, and pixel art in this video. I am a human person (not an alien) and I give you THREE thumbs up 👍👍👍
When I get to robots I use them to deconstruct my old base and build an efficient and massive base.
Also, you can span a water gap with a long path of landfill with gap at the end, then you just span the gap with a power line and underground belts.
if you ever do a modded version of death world then i reccomend using AAI's Chaingunner and AI Vehicles mods. That will effectively give you a Gatling Rover at Red Tier science and be able to put a AI Chip into it so you can command multiple Chaingunners to move around with you. Also AAI has a Land Crawler transport vehicle mod that can help you transport stuff around at Red Tier science
Bad video? I have my doubts. Thank you for the upload!
Thank you for this video! 😄🌸
yesssssss cant wait for next video in the series
This looks a hell of a lot better than anything I've ever built in Factorio.
Every video you make is a good video 😊
That “Howdy-Ho” hits deep compared to the Zomboid “Hello”
the passion you put in your videos is simply amazing
Oooh Factorio!! You should do a multiplayer game with doshdoshington!!!
I love how spaghetti death world bases are. The first 50 or so hours are just chaos until your main base is fortified enough to think about expansion.
Usually I leave that old base alone to slowly keep chugging away in the background while I build the new one. And eventually I come back to it to throw more resources at it just so it can keep that trickle of science and three other things I am too lazy to rebuild running.
Of course just because I am 400+ hours in does not mean the spaghetti goes away. At that point it becomes train spaghetti, because I decided to set a stupid train length early on and refuse to change it.
Finally Experimenting more factorio videos
One thing you could try to do, is build two land bridges from one side to another (But) don't connect them (leave a two-four) sea tile gap then add little two block islands along the bridge for underground conveyer belts. You can put them as far away from you as you can reach that way (hopefully) they will be out of reach of spitters?
Yes! More factorio content please!
“Lay the plans, and the robots will make it so” my buddies and I full send bots every run for this very reason. I think the Buddhists call it nirvana.
Ah yes, watching this has reminded me of two sayings I heard:
Factorio: "The factory must grow"
Space engineers: "Because Clang hates you, that's why."
You’ve made me want to buy this game. And I feel I will fall into a never ending factorio game binge and give myself to the machine never
The factory must grow.
AA has such intention in his voice that even if an AI digested all of his voice-work on CZcams it still couldn't pull off his narration.
AA doesn't narrate, he is an actor, an AI voice can narrate but it cannot do the dramatic pause, the lower registered syllable at just the right time, the concise explanation slowly after the long explanation fast, E.C.T.
I must say ambiguous that your voice is the perfect narrating voice
I LOVE YOU FACTORIO VIDEOS!!!!
36 hours in 13 minutes? dude hahah thats a lot of effort
36 hours of gameplay for a 13min video. I must have to watch the series
Hope to see the part 2 soon!
Can't wait for the next episode!
Gonna need a space exploration run
This video seems interesting! Hope to see more of it!!!!!1
