The whole world feels empty, the storyline is just random and pointless, the NPCs dont have any personality, difficulty is not existent with any fights, training or catching Pokemon.... on and on and on. I really wished GameFreak would remember the old days of the first 4 gens or simply look at games like Palworld to catch some ideas.
@ZFAN675 I think they are solid but definitely not a top 10 switch game. Just so many other better games out there.
The legends of Arceus or whatever it's called can have an argument made for it imo but not Sword & Shield imo
@@EternalKhannI agree to a certain extent it black and white and black and white 2 are the best pokemon games in the series and better than the previous gens in every way. Pokemon needs more focus on stories and better gameplay
@@skateorpie sorry, I stopped after the 4th Gen and tried a re-start with 8th. All I heard was that people had mixed feelings about 5th, but apparently I was mistaken and it does have a strong fan base out there. I hope to try it out sometime, maybe as a remake? Thanks for the rebuttal

Just got a switch for handheld. I bought Metroid dread, Prime remastered and Bayonetta 1 and 2. Does anyone have any other recommendations that aren't Mario or breath of the wild? They aren't my thing. I like top down Zelda.
Splatoon 3 is a really fun shooter, you can even just do pve or the story mode if you like, and they just dropped a new dlc that's a story mode with rogulike elements. You might like it, and pikmin 4 is good, you can also get monster hunter generations ultimate which I love but it's a bit tricky to learn (this game focuses less on story and more gameplay. Expect the gameplay and such to be enjoyable if you take the time to get used to it, but the story will be hard to follow or nonexistent, it's never been a selling point though. Gameplay all the way baby, you can do cool shit in this one too), and monster hunter stories 2 is basically a genuinely unique and fun pokemon game with monster hunter instead. These are all worth checking out, also of course the link's awakening remake if you like top down zelda and haven't gotten that yet. I think you can get dragon's dogma 1, I know 100% dark souls remastered is on there if you want to play a souls game.
I’d recommend looking into Yoku’s Island Express. Really great game

@@Yoaten Hades was a TIMED exclusive for a year, that’s why I put it there.
As for Odyssey, I could only pick one Mario Platformer and I went with Wonder for how much it made me tear up for being what I consider a TRUE return to form for 2D Mario Platformers.

This is the most basic "Best Switch game list". There is far more original game on the Switch than just in this list. A lot of them on the list are good, but clearly need more variety.

The 75 hours I put into arceus was some of the best I’ve spent in a game
I skipped out on that, and Scarlet/Violet. Maybe i should go back, and give Arceus a chance.
