I saw my first Skydio in the wild this week at a park and pursuant to your comments about the controller, he had a funny take on it, he said it wasn’t really a “controller” but more like “a suggestion box”, LOL, meaning, “you want to fly straight in those trees and shrubs?,” that’s the “suggestion” but the Skydio just did it’s own thing and found it’s own path which was anything but “straight into” the trees and shrubs. :-) It was amazing to see though, I would never in a million years try to fly my M2Pro in there.

Like the talk. Got mine last week. Flew it once and the sun went down and it started to come down. Like you said, RTH is not so good. Going to bike with it soon.
One thing I know is that this drone would dramatically increase the potential I have with my exploration videos on CZcams. Trying to fly a mavic over waterfalls and through the woods is tricky. After watching your whole series on this drone, I need one. Now all I need is money 💰

very nice and knowledgeable video. I like to use it for for kitesurfing alone. is it possible if it can track me autonomously in water while surfing and when it is close to end of battery, it can come back and land at beach on its own, without any intervention, or it will land in ocean at the end ?
3:57, the dirty sensor is 100% the reason why I just keep a 24-240mm on because everytime you swap lenses you have to take a picture of an all white screen to ensure all the hairs and dirt are cleaned off the sensor and the inside of the lens. 24-240mm isn't too good though as the edges have blur though it could be because f/8 is not night enough but I haven't used another lens at f/8 on the A7III to actually know. Always at least pack some APS-C or Full-Frame cleaning swabs before putting it together.

Very good resume . I just order the sport kits and the skydio2+. I have an android phone of 5 years old Motorola G6 and a IPad Pro can I use the IPad on isos 15.3 ? Understand it’s big but to begin learning maybe ok what you think ? If I can use it would I will able to recording on it….stupid questions from beginner
To prevent the battery from popping out, could I put a velcro strap around it to secure the battery?

Question. Did you have any issues with the remote controller constantly disconnecting from the drone during flight just 30 to 40 feet away? This is with my phone's wifi being off and in airplane mode. The beacon, however, works great! Anyway, Skydio so far has not been a great help in resolving or providing some possible solutions to fix this. Thanks!

I have been wanting to order a Skydio 2 after seeing many CZcams's like yourself review it but then I heard that they are out of stock! Is this true?
What about scene shooting with the beacon? Range? Multi inputs with beacon? Manually controlling the gimbal with the beacon?
Billie and everyone else who's interisted in this drone, MUST SEE video of utuber Kendal Martin[ Skydo 2 full controller flight,What gaps can it FLY THROUGH?] You will be amazed at how GOOD IT FLIES Thru openings you yourself cannot get thru, and how this could be the BEST Search and Rescue drone out there, well when the suns out anyway. This video shows what the drone will do with the controller and well its amazing, and contrary to what a lot of other utubers are saying. CHEERS and Enjoy Steve h.
The fact that the battery separates from the drone in a crash is probably, in most cases, a good thing as it reduces the force of impact that the drone body will experience.
Hi Billy - How can we pre-program a mission of waypoints? E.g. A SfM topography mission with main camera interval shoot? Is there a way to create a mission and upload it to the GCS or platform and have it follow the track, e.g. like is it possible to build a mission in Mission Planner software, or Pix4Dmapper, or other similar app? Would definitely prefer to stay off of an online service like dronedeploy or similar.
Did we ever get an answer to this? I am looking to do a comparison for this.
@@joshuawhite8256 I never heard a reply, but figured out that DroneDeploy works well for this... Maybe do a free trial to see if it works for you. They're are a few other proprietary mission planner softwares that speak the Skydio API too.

Hello, I have a Samsung Note20 5G phone, the Skydio app has been installed without problems, but I can't do the optical motion track, when the drone sees me, or sees a car, a bike, or a group of people, it applies a "+" on each of them, but if I click on them, nothing happens, the spinning trail I’m expecting to see, does not appear around the subject,
So I’m missing the best features of the skydio, orbit, dronie etc., only the cable mode works, to be motion-tracked I must do it on the beacon ... does anyone else have this issue?
I ordered one, but I might have to cancel and get the Autel. I'm in Oz anyway. Autel have distribution here. And I always fly at night and low light.

Great video. Unfortunately I am already on my second skydio 2. The first one lasted about 3 days and I'm completely terrified to fly the new one. I would love to return it since advantage of my skydiocare once they won't let me return the drone. I'm really afraid to fly this thing anywhere which is unfortunate because you're supposed to be able to fly it just about anywhere within reason... As of right now I have a brand new controller and a brand new drone sitting in the box. Set to lose probably 400 transaction
Billy. I’m sorry this don’t have anything to do with this video but you was the only way I could get a honest answer. Someone on CZcams stated they spoke to DJI and they said you should not use a IPad with the Mavic Mini. Can you tell us why.

Hi Billy, great video. I had a quick question. I am planning on buying a drone for myself soon to compliment my photography hobby. The FAA rules on what I can and can't do seem a little unclear to me. If I wanted to post my videos on CZcams or Facebook as an easy way to share with my friends/family, would I be required to pay for and take the part 107 exam? I don't have monetization turned on and don't plan on turning it on.
I’d say you’re fine. People will claim that it “furthers your business” but I don’t think it’s necessary if you don’t intent on profiting from it. You even said that it’s a hobby.
@@billykyle thanks man! It is certainly only a hobby. Putting it on CZcams just makes it easier to copy a link to send around. Last thing I want is the FAA sending me a letter 😂
@@neyland94 Why not try to get some money out of it, the Part 107 is not hard and takes less then 2 weeks with study time.

Yeah it’s pretty straight forward. I’d put some time into doing a training course or poke around on some CZcams videos.
From what I've seen, 2+ fix some of the issues. I wish they would make the skidio arms fold like dji.
CaN this drone be programmed to fly a preset 'course.' Or, can it be programmed to fly a course it has flown previously...??
I received the Skydio 2 today and took it for a test run using an iPhone 11. Performed okay. Freaked out once because the app crashed while it was tracking. Relaunched the app and all was okay (whew).
Also, can someone confirm?
When the app is still in the background (ie no longer flying and phone is now in my pocket) and it is still on Skydio wifi, 'Find My iPhone' doesn't work (even though there is GPS/Cellular). I couldn't find my phone an hour after finished flying and Find My iPhone said it wasn't connected. When I (manually) found my phone (in another room) the Skydio app was still running. After I closed the App, Find my iPhone could locate my device.
How to get it?
DJI has had a follow me / tracking function for quite a while now on a couple models....any idea why they have not improved on it and also added more sensors? Makes no sense! In this “selfie” world we live in everyone wants to be in the film / video for the most part instead of always being behind the camera

Our Skydio 2 does not do the keep dropping then go back up.
#1 thing to know is you can't access the 3d capabilities w/o paying Skydio $3800 for their bloody software.... never explained this when I decided to buy... sneaky....

I'm sorry, but telling people not to use HDR is bad advice. I use it all the time and it does wonders. Just because HDR didn't make one shot look better, doesn't mean you should never use it. HDR gives you so much more range of shadows and highlights in post color grading.
I've used a HDR a few times, but it just seems to make everything darker. I most have been trying it in the wrong light. What lighting situations would you suggest to use it in? And I loved your last Skydio 2 video.
Ron Brown anytime you have bright sky and dark shadows. It’s what keeps the sky blue instead of blowing it out white.
