Interesting discussion of the Peart-Bonham comparison. They were both super-skilled, but at the time they were both playing, Bonham was a "groove drummer," and Neil Peart was more about "precision," "point of attack," and innovations in drumming and percussion than Bonham (though that changed as Peart matured as a drummer). In many ways, Peart was a prisoner of Rush's music (which was carefully composed to highlight lyrics, solos, themes, and the performances of Lee and Lifeson) and his kit, while Bonham was more free to play with a smaller kit and fewer musical constraints. I'd say they were very different and therefore not comparable.
RUSH - a class all by themselves.
Always listen to the original studio version before the live version of any song. Never the other way around.

It really is astonishing to see Rush perform live. It seems like they must have been wizards, they do so much with so few members! I adore Rush and their concert titled RUSH - Grace Under Pressure Tour (Full Concert) is a great one with good production value for the time.

I find myself blessed to have seen them the most out of any artist 1975 at the age of 10 for a out door concert for a radio station KSHE 95. and so many years till their last performance in My home town St Louis Mo. in 2015. RIP NEIL the professor has left the building, exit stage left...

I saw Rush live when they played music from their Hemispheres album many years ago. One of my favorite albums.
I recommend you listen to Cygnus X1 on the album. It's 18 minutes long but worth it🙂🙂

Live in Rio. They did their first tour in South America in 2002 and they had no idea they were so popular down there. The crowd reaction surprised them. Try the song YYZ . They wrote it based on the morse code identification for Toronto Airport they heard flying home.
One of the greatest bands ever they certainly shaped my teenage years mum and dad hated them along with AC/DC Sabbath purple zeppelin 😂 love it

The song is a tribute or an appreciation song for radio industry and the DJs who would bring us all the great music on.a daily basis. It's how recording artists were discovered and brought to the people including Rush whos career started because of their songs being played on radio. The final frame of this video is dedicated to the drummer Neil Peart who passed away in 2020, the band hasn't played since.
Any live video with a high watch count is worth watching, they have so many live concert videos it is hard to pick one.

Rush !!! There are lots of great songs. I first head Rush when they came out with their song - 2112 Temples of Syrinx - It was their 1st hit and I became an instant fan. They toured for years almost nonstop and there are some great live videos including some where it looks like they are doing their laundry with front-load washing machines on stage.
Watching you react and smile to music never fails to brighten my day !

They are better live not so common in music it is a credit to their musicianship, and they were a band that strive for perfection in performance.
