As a Canadian speaking for the country we're very proud of the fact that Rush is the greatest band to come out of Canada. As for Neil Peart in particular (the drummer) - he has the respect of being known as one of the top 5 drummers in the world. Literally. Yep. Canadians are very proud to call Rush one of ours. RIP Neil Peart.
LOL I (seriously) read that as, “as a Canadian speaker” and laughed my rear end off when I noticed how dumb I am 😅 Cheers!
Better than Glass Tiger?
I think not.
@@markyncole, Glass who?
@@markyncole lol
Canadians should be so proud of Rush. Legit top Rock Band of all time. Saw them in 1986 in Chicago for the Power Windows Tour.
Now that’s how you show appreciation for the greatest drummer ever, top 5 bass player, top 5 guitar player, the best 3 piece band ever
In my humble opinion, this is the best 3 person band ever. Note that the lead singer, bass player and keyboard player are the same person. They were awesome live
Neil Ellwood Peart 1952-2020..
Best drummer of all time ..............
The best drumming in a song.period.
All I can say is RIP Neil Peart. The greatest drummer in Rock and Roll history.
Neil Peart, deeply considered one of the greatest drummers in rock history. Sadly passed away back in 2020. Legend!!
🥹❤️
Mo, the lead singer, Geddy Lee, is also the bass player and keyboard player. It's amazing to see their live performances, where you can see Geddy doing all three things in a song! And yes, Neil Peart was an AMAZING drummer. Someone who has been an inspiration for generations of drummers. Also, please do check out Spirit of Radio. Rush has many great songs!
And then the lyrics.
woww
And Lifeson! He is an incredible guitar player and sickenly underrated!
Neil was so ingrained to play in perfect time, he eventually found the beauty in playing "just outside the pocket" but had to enlist an outside percussionist guru to help him achieve this beautiful "non-perfection".
RIP Neil Peart. Best Power Trio ever! Rush Forever 🤘🏻🎶
All three of them are true masters of their craft. Peart was from another planet!
They were so far ahead of the other band's in that time. As far as musical playing, incredible. The other band is "Yes".
Yes and even farther ahead of bands today.. Music is devolving t an alarming rate…🤮😖
And 70’s Genesis!
@@herbhill7591 OMG.. I loved Genesis of the 70's. I liked he trick of the tail and lamb so much that when they went commercial in the early 80's I thought they were nothing more then sellouts and changed the channel.
@@forgottenfilmchannel1194 Chris Squire of Yes is the reason Geddy bought a Rickenbacker. They traded guitars later on. Two absolute wizards on the bass
I'm from the US and been a fan forever. Not just the greatest band out of Canada but anywhere in my opinion.
Rush is one of Canada`s greatest contributions to Rock n Roll`s history, over the top creativity and artistry and the very best drummer, ever! RIP Neil Peart + they are a Power Trio! Mo, you have got to check out any of Neil`s drum solo`s that are all over youtube, you will be shocked!
The drummer Neil Peart was like the lead singer from another planet yeah out of this world !🤘
Older kid across my yard was all about Rush in the late 90s.
It was always on.
We would play D&D and Rush was on.
Ride bikes, he’d have Rush with him.
Always Rush.
Neil Peart was the greatest drummer then and a legend for all times.
This band was regularly heard playing in almost every car in High School.
ENJOY girl.
Congrats on the new place.
As the saying goes, "Neil Peart is your favorite drummer's favorite drummer"
A first-time Rush listener immediately found the groove. That's what Rush does. They groove. It's why their music is so infectious. 😎
Very talented and unique band. The drummer Neil Peart (RIP) is one of the top guys in history.
Great reaction as always.
🥺💔
So talented 👏. Thank you😊
You beat me to it Neil Peart was one of the best John Bonham
Future reactions might come under some of the following categories:
1 - "Are you sure this is just three people?"
"YYZ", from MOVING PICTURES
"Resist", from TEST FOR ECHO
"La Villa Strangiato", from A FAREWELL TO KINGS
"Xanadu", from EXIT: STAGE LEFT (a live concert album)
2 - "Where the frack did they get those lyrics?" (Almost exclusively from the late, lamented Neil Peart, their drummer)
"Fly By Night", from FLY BY NIGHT
"Subdivisions", from SIGNALS
"Half The World", from TEST FOR ECHO
"Headlong Flight", from CLOCKWORK ANGELS
"Red Sector A", from GRACE UNDER PRESSURE
3 - "Hokey smokes, Bullwinkle, how did they play that?"
"Working Man", from RUSH (This had Paul Rutsey as their original drummer - damned good, but superseded by Neil Peart)
"2112", from 2112
"Prime Mover", from HOLD YOUR FIRE
"Dreamline", from ROLL THE BONES
"The Garden", from CLOCKWORK ANGELS
First things first: Congratulations on your new place, Mo.
As for Rush: It still makes me wonder how such a brilliant, massive sound comes out of just three musicians. Three times pure genius.
Let us not forget the other Canadian Power Trio..Triumph. Not in Rush's league (no one is), but damned good.
I’ve seen many of these younger people listening to Rush for the first time. Rightfully, they are blown away by the musical technicality of Geddy, Alex, and Neil, but it’s Neil’s lyrics that they should focus on. Some of the most thought provoking words ever matched to music…IMHO.
Neil Peart has been called, "Your favorite drummer's favorite drummer." You can define see why, can't you?
All my best to you!
Long live RUSH
A true power rock trio ; Only a few bands have ever been able to pull it off well.
.
"Working Man" is another of theirs that I really like.
Rush: "The Spirit Of Radio". You'll love it.
One of the few bands as a 3 person band that could sound like a rock orchestra
I am so glad that I got to see them before they disbanded and the untimely passing of drummer Neil Peart
RIP Neil. Thanks for all you left us.
Welcome to an era when they actually played instruments without any backing tracks or auto tune. The 70’s and 80’s are some very deep rabbit holes to jump into.
GREAT reaction to a truly awesome and iconic song!
Everyone is talking about the music, but I heard you ask about the lyrics.
Don't get me wrong; it's Rush. The instrumentation is always the most impressive aspect of all of their songs, but the lyrics to this one are also pretty interesting.
That having been said, it might need a bit of context.
If you don't know, Tom Sawyer is the titular character from a book by Mark Twain. He's a rebellious, head-in-the-clouds kid who lives in a town in Missouri during the 1840s and has a lot of little adventures while learning more about the adult world along the way. There's a lot more to the story than that, but the important thing is to understand what kind of character Tom Sawyer is.
The lyrics are actually a collaboration between Neil Peart (drummer) and a friend of his. His friend wrote this poem about a person who's sort of like a Tom Sawyer for modern times, and Neil thought it was interesting. He decided to put his own spin on it by making the song less about being an idealistic youth and more about reconciling that sense of free spiritedness with the pragmatism of being an adult.
Come to think of it, a lot of Rush's songs have literary references, so they kind of expect the audience to have a certain cultural familiarity to understand what the songs are about. Fortunately, if we didn't know what's being referenced in the song, the instruments help us understand the emotions behind those ideas.
"WATCH" Santana live at Woodstock "Soul Sacrifice"
Canadian musician here, Rush had the most talented players meet up to form a band that will be played for many years to come. They inspire our up coming youg musicians to aspire to their ranks, , or maybe better ?
So glad you finally discovered this world class band.
As well as being one of the greatest drummers of all time, Neil also wrote most of the lyrics, which are always worth the time to read. "his mind is not for rent, to any God or government". Wow.
Neil Peart "Drum Solo live in Frankfurt"
Definitely check out the Professor at work
You need to watch Neal Peart live in Frankfurt, he’s the same drummer in rush only older, like they say you get better with time,RIP Mr. Peart
There are some very good videos of Neil and his drum solos. Unbelievable. The instruments are lead guitar, bass guitar, keyboards and drums.
Yes we are proud to call them ours. All excellent musicians.
❤❤❤
Spirit of the radio would be a great choice
They call them the "Holy Trinity" for a reason! All legends in their craft, but Neil Peart is regarded as one of the GOATS of drumming
Neil Peart! Best ever drummer. Nice video post Lady.
Neal Peart is possibly one of, if not THE best rock drummers until his death.
Spirit of the radio
Subdivisions
Natural science
The pass
Limelight...
These are all greats to react to by Rush
They are 3, seem like 10. Truly a great discovery, keep going with them, in my opinion there are even more beautiful songs
3 guys....3....and live it's still just 3 guys and it sounds just as rich and full as ever, as if there are 10 guys playing....Neil Peart is your favorite drummers favorite drummer, legend doesn't do him justice and he wrote most of the lyrics to their songs, check out a drum solo from 2004 Germany and be amazed. Other songs are Limelight, Subdivisions, 2112, Closer To The Heart, YYZ, Free Will, New World Man and maybe the best rock song ever recorded The Spirit Of Radio...also Geddy Lee, vocals, also played keyboards and bass, at the same time via a special foot pedal, Alex Lifeson is a highly underrated guitarist and like I said...3 guys.
That drummer guy seems pretty good. He might have a future in the rock n' roll thing....
And the DRUMMER writes the lyrics !!
what?! wowwww
Rush is what happens when 3 masters of their craft come together
Another great reaction! All that musical perfection coming out of a band of three musicians...sounded more like 5!
You are absolutely adorable.
I'm happy that you found this legendary band.
Spirit of Radio? Yes! Excellent choice!
Spirit Of Radio is a good one to check-out next.
Then Neil Pearts drum solo from Frankfurt
I also think you'd really like Territories, Digital Man, & YYZ (live in Rio)
I LOVE that you let the music play! I’m from the same town as the signer so I get the chills whenever I see someone enjoy them from another country..
Spirit if radio and YYZ by rush are phenomenal songs
Neil Peart, the best drummer ever! RIP! Definitely check out Spirit of Radio!
Incredible individual performances that come together into a cohesive masterpiece of a song. That's Rush's forte.
💯
Congratulations on a new home.....your expression of the very first note was priceless.....Rush is by far my favorite band all time
Their song Xanadu will blow your mind. Check out the live version.
Yep that's right my generation had the best music
I enjoyed your reaction to Peart's drums...greatest drumming in any song IMO - tied with Keith Moon "Won't get fooled again"
"Limelight" is another good one from them!
Great reaction. Rush was such a great band in the 80's. Congrats on your new apartment, and You look beautiful as ever. )
Aww, thank you so much🥺🥰
Mark that moment sweetheart: that’s the last time you get to hear them for the first time.
Congratulations Morenikeji... enjoy your new apartment ! Canadian here... Rush are amazing. Glad you enjoyed this song. Rush are the most prolific and unique rock band . Neil "the professor" Peart, ( R.I.P. ) , is an true percussive innovator. It is like he plays every possible time signature in his head and then constructs his beats. Geddy Lee is a Bass master and major influencer on so many musicians. Alex Lifeson could play any rock guitar style , from Classical to Spanish to Progressive to just heavy metal .
You can't go wrong listening to a Rush song. You will like some more than others but they are all worth listening to.
Rush is one of the finest bands ever. Nice pick!! 😊
Neal Peart the drummer has the best drum solo of all time. He’s a God in the drum world. And quite the philosopher.
Yes, all that sound came from three guys!
Great reaction and RUSH are:
Geddy Lee plays bass, bass pedal, synth, pedal synth, guitars and vocals.
Alex Lifeson plays all guitars and bass pedal synth.
Neil Peart plays drums and percusion also wrote the lyrics. According with all drums magazine Is in top 3 of the all times rock drummers.
Rush Made music for people who loves real good music and musicians not for comercial porpuses.
Buen becarefull don't listen Mush Rush you will turn a fan.
Again Great reaction.
wowww, I really appreciate this info👏🏼
Always is a pleasure, Mo.
Nice react as usual 👌
Great band too.
(Try ABBA - 'Super Trouper' 🙏)
Kisses from ❤ Chile 🇨🇱😘👍
Chick Corea - Return To Forever
Romantic Warrior
YOU DOING GOOD, YEEEHH...
Hi as a fellow Canadian drummer it's nice to see people acknowledge how awesome to watch a good drummer. 👍
Awesome, thank you!
I hear this song a few times a week and it never gets old
Hello beautiful baby girl.
Congrats with your new appartment.
Rush favorite group of mine.
Check out the title The Spirit of Radio or Closer to the Heart or Limelight.
Love you ❤❤❤❤
Leon.
Thank you so much🙏❤️❤️
@@MorenikejiTaiwo Your very welcome beautiful one.🙏🙏🙏🙏
If you loved the drums on this one check out Neil Peart drum solo live from Frankfurt! And watch The Garden live from Rush!!
You just witnessed the the most amazing drummer in all the land. The Legendary Neil Peart. RIP NEIL
crazy canadian weather inspires incredible music! thanks for reaction,
Time for some live Rush ! Try the song Xanadu from the Exit Stage Left concert ! Also the song Natural Science from the Molsen Amphitheater concert.
I think the best song to showcase the drummer, Neil Peart, is "Mystic Rhythms." Watch the video and be amazed.
I love it when you talk to the video and make noise when you are watching!
Brings back memories of clubbing back in the 1970's , we had a rock club which played this type of stuff , thanks for the video , love from the UK.
Rush and drummer Neil Peart came into my life at the right time. As a young drummer, they were one of many influences, as were Yes, Genesis, King Crimson and Emerson, Lake and Palmer.
Now, there is a rock line-up!!!!
You should definitely check out Spirit of Radio next.
RUSH !!!!!!
Man, I would marry you in a second! You are so beautiful. And a nice person!💕❤️🌹
Excellent musicians and singer. This is past my time, I was too bust in the 80's but know there are great bands from any time.
You got the Rush ,I got the bong tokes!!! Party 🎉 ❤😂😊
the drummer is known as "the professor"
Neil Peart, the perfect if a drummer!!! He has a video live from Frankfurt Germany that’s a killer!!!! Check it out Mo!!!!
It's amazing how much Rush accomplished without much radio or label support in 40 years...But I betting half of that was thier live shows..Professionalism/precision at it's best. 2nd, It was thier clever lyrics--deep subjects from purpose of life to the creation of the atomic bomb, mostly written by Peart who was an avid reader and world traveler. The guy's been voted best rock drummer of all time in every poll I've seen. Congrats on the new crib, sweetie!
wow. I appreciate this Info! thanks for your kind words too!
Alright baby girl love your beautiful smile. Another good choice👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👍
This song is the ringtone on my phone. Everyone smiles whenever they hear it and they say....Yep!
Congratulations on your new apt. Rush is one of the best bands ever! PLUS there are only 3 members!
3 members?! Just went to check. So the lead singer isn’t part of them?😮
@@MorenikejiTaiwo Only 3 members, Geddy Lee - (bassist,,keyboards, lead singer), Alex Lifeson (guitarist and occasional backup vocals), and Neil Peart, (drummer and the main lyricist but they have all contributed to song lyrics)
Also, when you pronounce Niels last name, it is pronounced Peart like pear with a t on the end, not Pert like a lot of people pronounce it.
Nice! Hello from Brasil! From Rush I also recommend the live videos of "Xanadu", "Red Barchetta" and "Frewill" from the show "Exit: Stage Left". And also the official video for "Subdivisions"! Oh, and of course the live video of "YYZ" from the "Rush in Rio" concert!
Arguably the best 3 man band ever ! And Canadian 🇨🇦 as well !
And NO arguement, Neil Peart is the Best drummer the World has ever seen !
Look for Neil Pearts drum solo when they were in Berlin ! 6:08
Nah. Band of Gypsys was better, but I can still appreciate the sentiment.
Rush Xanadu and Freewill from Exit Stage Left album is a must..
Hi baby girl 💖. I am so happy for you to have found a place that is all for you.
🥺🙏❤
