E-Bike Question of the Day ⚡🚴 What do you think about our picks for the best electric bike? What else would you add to it? Let us know in the comments below 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
Try to review the Sparks CycleWorks Bandit with dual batteries if you can I believe you'll enjoy it. It's not an ebike but an emoped that's a blast to ride around the city.
Amazing, most of the bikes you reviewed were rear motor? We want a bike that we can change a flat tire without an engineering degree. You did go to center drive for your best picks... Thanks
I noted that reliability is not mentioned at all in this review. Features, design and specs all don't mean much if you are having little or big things going wrong on your bike over time and you are getting frustrated. I want to know what makes for quality components, what makes for quality electronics. Are spare parts available? What is the experience with service? This is the kind of information I am looking for.
Agree - feedback on color choices or paint job isn’t the kind of info I’m seeking. Something on how long a battery lasts, how quickly it charges, dependability, reliability and customer service…. Way more important.
My wife and I both have two year old Aventon Levels. For us these are road bikes in the Boise foothills. We’re 70 and don’t off road and did not want fat tire bikes. Both bikes have performed well. Mine has nearly 8,000 miles on it. I did just have the rear brakes replaced. They were completely shot. The tires are original with plenty of miles still left on them. We paid $1,400 each before prices got stupid. We’re very happy with these bikes.
i'm curious if any of these companies have put any thought into security, considering that their $2,000 to $4,000 ebikes are major targets for thefts in every large city, as it would take a thief 5 seconds to steal them.
Found it interesting when you guys talked about the way you felt 'one with the bike' when riding the Specialized. This will be my fourth season on my Specialized Como 3.0 and it is amazing the comfort, confidence, and quiet ride ability you feel on this platform. The pedal assist keeps you engaged, alert, and on turbo level is almost effortless. I am about ready to hit 10,000 miles and I'd say pretty close to 40% has been medium difficulty trails. I ride this bike hard and have been able to get about 5,000 miles per cassette, brake pads, and rear tire. Still using original front tire and discs. Those who think you can't stay in shape using an e-bike, try the pedal assist..
@@johnesparza9149 This bike will do 28 MPH with the pedal assist. My bike shop owner said that I should be able to get around 12,000 miles on the battery. When I bought it I paid 2,400 dollars for it. Not bad when you consider the battery is 900 and charger about 350.
I just ordered an Aventure and a Lectric 2.0 both in step-thru. Aventure for me and my wife wanted the Lectric. We'll share them and enjoy them. I can't wait for them to get here. Thanks. Your videos are the reason we decided on these 2. Be well and ride safe.
My wife and I both have LECTRIC XP 2.0 step thru bikes. We love them. We are not off road riders. We cruise the neighborhood, parks and campgrounds. Best value for the money, if you ask me.
My wife and I both have LECTRIC XP 2.0 step thru bikes. We love them. We are not off road riders. We cruise the neighborhood, parks beaches and campgrounds. Best value for the money, at $999 each (includes shipping) if you ask me.
My radrunner plus is everything I hoped it would be. One important point if you purchase a utility style bike, make sure the seat is adjustable like the radrunner plus. I looked at a competitor with a non adjustable seat that had mag style wheels instead of spokes which would be a good feature .A non adjustable seat is going to perfectly match only if you are one common height. Radrunner plus is extremely solid, no questions about the step thru being strong enough to never fail. I believe the rad rover mini step thru would be a good alternative, with the ability to be folded, negating the need for a carrier rack, $500 less money and an excellent choice. No I have no regrets on my purchase of the radrunner plus and if you wanted to with its 350 pound cargo rating you can carry a passenger, pull a deer hauler or wagon, and haul a lot with the available large extra sturdy basket. The basket is made for the front but I turned it parallel to the bike , drilled two holes and installed on the back. Turning it was essential to being able to easily get it through a doorway.
Love my Fat Tire Rad Rover, it's been a great bike for the money as well...I paid 1500.00 six years ago and is still running great....I recommend the Rad Rover Fat Tire Bike if cost is a concerned. Now they are around 1900.00
Not only that. . them not even mentioning even _minimal_ specs. For example, ALL that was discussed about the Skyline was the paint job and the minimal stiffness for a step-through. Reminds me of one of the old Cosmopliatan magazine articles where the editor gives an intern an assignment to write an article about a subject they had zero understanding before the assignment.
When purchasing an ebike, should we take into account repair shops in your area? If Trek is sold in your town, but RAD isn’t, should you go with Trek? Or are these bikes pretty easy for any mechanic to handle? Just thinking of cars as an example, I wouldn’t buy a Tesla because we have no repair shops anywhere near me. Any thoughts?
In general, yes. If you plan on doing frequent riding it's worth making sure your local shop would be comfortable handling maintenance/repairs on a given bike. Also check with the company you plan on going with. Just as you mentioned Rad in your example, they habve mobile service offerings and an online help center for such things. They may even be able to find a local mechanic to you that can handle your problem. www.radpowerbikes.com/pages/rad-service
I recently got an Electric Bike Company model Y and I am so impressed with the quality. I just love my bike! Too bad PA weather put my riding on hold until Spring.
Gentlemen, there is a whole consumer Ebike group you missed!!!! E trikes!!! Seniors are seriously looking at and buying etrikes. As are people with some mobility/balance issues. I know of someone with MS that is able to ride again thanks to her ebike. And another senior (82 yrs young) that is able to ride thanks to his ebike. I hope you consider this and make another video for those of us who are seriously interested.
Commend the Report for doing this review. Very helpful indeed! Would love to see an in-depth report on locks, security and insurance to protect one's valuable bike.
Thanks to battery operated tools (some with diamond-edged cutting attachments), no current lock or security device will protect your e-bike from an opportunist. Some motorcycle alarms are PIERCINGLY loud, which might be effective in turning a thief away. Anything can be insured, for a price; ask Lloyd's of London.
i think that could be usefull if you could add a comparative table of features, technical info (motor power, battery capacity,, speeds, etc) and if possible prices aswell.
I bought a Lectric XP 2.0. It has replaced my pickup truck. I do all of my shopping with it. With the optional racks, I can carry a 3 gallon water bottle, 2 folding chairs, 3 coolers and food for the week, all at the same time.
1:22 - It would have nice if you listed the price for each bike in the video… I had to looks them all up, so, I’m curious… What do you consider “affordable” for the average first time buyer like myself? There is one bike on this list that I would consider affordable, the lectric bike for $999. Every other bike on this list is east double that amount or more. $1800+ is not “affordable” in my opinion for anyone. Do you have a list of the best e-bikes $1000 and under?
Anything over 1K isn't worth investing. It's marketing and price up at that point. I brought an e bike kit and costed $200 with $100 battery, 42 miles range, 48v 1000 watt eletric hub with top speed of 30 mph.
I have a CSC 750 Xp 20 i bought 1 year ago.I have 850 miles on it and it is flawless.BTW it is also dual drive.I put a 1000 watt hub motor on the front attached to a 48 V 20 ah battery---stock it already had a 750 bafang with a 48v 14ah. I have 100 mile plus range with light peddling and a 34 mph top speed battery only with just the front.I have posted videos on my setup and I can ride anywhere up to motocross level terrain and can also go up to the local high end restaurant and pull it up on the sidewalk and go eat--or goto the local park--or offroad trails--these things are fantastic. One thing for new users so they do not quit--buy a cloud 9 or the best padded seat and an adjustable seat post--about 50 to 100 dollars in total depending on the quality.I spent 30 on a seat and about 25 on the seatpost and it made a world of diffrence. If you can afford it--dual drive your ebike--it is the best thing I could have done.850 miles of all sorts of riding from street to medium trails and my tires still have about 60% tread. The 26 inch bikes are VERY big--buyer beware--I am 6ft 1 and have a 20 inch and it is just as big as my normal mountainbike.Go look at them live before you buy cause you will be shocked at how big even the 20 inch ones are.
Not a Belt drive E Bike mentioned , I have a "Smart Motion", Belt drive and one the positive things I can mention is : belt drives don't stretch or break and dare I say no need to lubricate the belt and no oily residue on legs or trousers !
My son and I are seeking a fat, puncture proof E bike to be used on wet-muddy roads/levees enroute to waterfowl hunting areas. We also plan to drag a plastic sled filled with decoys, totaling 60-80 pounds. Would do you recommend? Rick Kaminski
Agreed, didn't have to go past that Fat Bikes Rock, The Bafang RM60 Is REALLY Good, you can build them yourself too, upgrade with comfy seat, VESC or FLIPSKY Controller, improved batteries' Higher Voltage is more efficient
Reliability, customer service, and removable batteries are important to me as a consumer! You might want to address those things next time! Still a great overview of what bikes are out there that deserve your learned opinions.
This is a helpful video, thank you. I’m looking for my second e-bike and would appreciate if you included the experience of shorter riders in your reviews. For example, would your wife also describe the experience on the Specialized as feeling one with the bike? I’m 5’1” and even if bikes come small enough for me, the geometry is often uncomfortable. I have big hills on my commute and I really don’t want to tackle them in an upright position or with the bike geometry making it difficult to stand up. Another issue is that when I lower the seat, I’m not able to use accessories like pannier racks or my Trail-A-Bike. Can you please do a review for e-bikes for riders under 5’6”? Seat post height adjustment doesn’t necessarily equal usability. And a short stature doesn’t necessarily mean that we only do leisure riding.
You lost me at RAD. I will be honest, they may have gotten better but I had an original Rad City and it was a piece of Junk. I still have the motor and it has been on three different frames on and off but the bike itself was garbage and literally fell apart. I went to a Juiced RipCurrent and have been extremely pleased and it still rides like new with over 3000 miles on it.
I also find it so curious that some ebikes are 1500-2000$ and 4000-6000$. Frankly makes me nervous about the quality of the lesser-priced rides, i.e., WHY such a price difference in something that has relatively few "parts".
Thanks for your vid though I’m glad I researched more for my first E-Bike purchase. Ordered an Ariel Rider Kepler 32-40mph fat tire E-Bike, 1000 Watt Nominal 1800 Watt Peak Power Bafang Motor, 52V 20ah LG battery, 1650 Watt 33amp 52V Controller, with 108 Nm of torque for $1,800.
I've got to say that, although there were some very deserving bikes chosen, I was shocked to see that your list had no bikes with a belt drive. I'd be interested in your rationale on that. Thanks!
@@stevyd Thanks. I just looked at the article and saw the Evelo, which I don't think is in the video. Still find the overall exclusion of belt drive bikes from their list a bit odd. but that's just my opinion/experience.
Not correct. There is at least one bike on the list with a belt drive. It's the Cero One. Did you look at the entire list? It has more bikes than were shown on the video. There are more categories too.
I'm 71 and a lifelong bicycle rider including 10's of thousands of miles touring both on and off-road and these E-bikes are interesting, but as long as I'm capable of peddling myself, I'll stay old school, self propelled. Staying fit is important to me at this time of my life.
I generally don't leave comments but I have to say I don't understand where people get the whole thing that E bikes can't give you exercise. Put the assist level on one leave the bike in the hardest gear and there you go it's that easy.
In November 2019 I bought a seconhand cube crossover pedal assist bike. I bought it from a gentlman I new, I new him well and he had a genuine reason for selling it, the bike had done 3200 kilometers when I bought it, it now has 13900 kilometers it has a Boch motor. I get it serviced regularly, and hav had no problems with it. I have don ethe Alps to ocean trail ( 300 k) parst of which are grade 3 and over very rough terrian, I did it with a club I belong to and we did it over 5 day we are all over 70 one gentleman was 82 and still on a manual bike. I'm from Timaru New Zealand, I sugest you google alps to ocean trail. Our next trip is going to be in October, we are going to do the lake Dunstan trail, that is a really exciting trail!
Enjoyed the review. I am a hunter. Your review made me start thinking about how I could use an electric bike to get to my deer stands. Which of these bikes or another could I use in wooded and dirt road areas and also attach accessories like a rifle scabbard?
Next year take a look at the line up from BEE COOL Headquarters in Ontario, California. For example. The Aventon Avenger vs the Bee Cool Pathfinder. Bee Cool wins. I realize you can't look at all companies as the electric bike Market is expanding so rapidly. Thanks for taking the time to make your selections.
so many people i meet on the trails and on the road say to me "i should have bought the Rad" other brands seem to have alot of problems, i ride a customized Rad Rover5 and love it, glad to see all the competition, it will def, make for better products and cheaper pricing in the future
Already loving this presentation just because they re pointing out everything to expect with all types of (E.Bikes). Many choices to choose from for everyone 👍
Good variety in features and price points....so much more choice in the last 3 years or so....and I have seen many more e-bikes, mostly 20" fat tires, here in my Florida beach town since the beginning of this year.
My wife and I both have LECTRIC XP 2.0 step thru bikes. We love them. We are not off road riders. We cruise the neighborhood, parks, beaches and campgrounds. Best value for the money, if you ask me.
I am completely new to electric bikes and trying to learn all I can before my purchase. I retire in 4 yrs & plan for my bike would be ....to the grocery store & town 4 miles away, trails near my home, and possible longer routes if an electric bike accommodates that. I'm very active now and don't plan on slowing down in retirement. My question is - what is the general expected distance of an electric bike?
I wish you would have also covered the cons of each of these ebikes; would help the potential consumer to make a more informed decision to make the right purchase. This video felt more like a direct advertisement as apposed to a more critical review. Nonetheless, thank you.
Wow, great videos. I just keep coming back to the Lectric. It's the best folding that I've seen especially after rad raised prices and instead Lectric created a lower priced bike.
I think they handle weird and look weird and I really do not like small tires maybe you could have regular size wheels andtires on it it would look so awkward like the rest of those with the main beem of frame the is the battery 👎
Thank you for the report! Are there any ultra light weight e-bikes you recommend? I live in a NYC apartment, 3 flights of stairs up, therefore weight is my number 1 priority as I need to carry it upstairs (with heavy bags of groceries hanging from the handlebar bar at times). I have been riding for the last 5 years on a Gocycle G3 (36 pounds), which has been really good for me as it is slim and I can take inside stores, trains, Uber and buildings (I am a realtor), and in case I need to leave it outside for a few minutes, I can chain it and also remove a wheel or two in 5 seconds and take them with me as they weigh very, very little. It is also very attractive and attention grabbing, and it is a constant conversation piece with total strangers, even with the less friendly new yorkers, of all ages ( I am a shaved head 58 years old male, not exactly a hot chick). As I am thinking I need a replacement soon, and if I stick to Gocycle models, it would cost me $6-7K, I was wondering if you can suggest other less expensive but valid alternatives.
I'm surprised the Gen3 Flex didn't make the list. I just got mine today and bought it based on your review. Was late at night but the time I got home and set it up. But so far very happy of the quick night ride I did.
Thanks for this info, I am going to try out what I can get here in Australia. I'm two hours outa Melbourne and there's only one bike store. I love these bikes you've shown. Great research for what I can get here.
My wife and I both have LECTRIC XP 2.0 step thru bikes. We love them. We are not off road riders. We cruise the neighborhood, parks beaches and campgrounds. Best value for the money, if you ask me.
@@robk1310 I drive trucks, so I explore some cities by drivin my rig, lol 😆, but now, I have my XP. I'm heading to California to pick it up now, I'll be home for St. Patties day 🎉🤙😁 Happy Holidays 🎉
Good information video. I know nothing about electric bikes. I'm a senior citizen, so, comfort is high on my list, and, I kind of like the cruiser design. One I could peddle also. I like these the best from your video, not in any order : Blix Avery Skyline $1800, Rad City $2000,. EBC model S $2400 ( lot's of color's). Good review, with lot's of information. Thank you, John
Best is to do your own research...mechanics, features, cost, ride type, etc. Having do e my homework, i am thouroughly pleased w my rei coop2.1 e bike. Great mileage and can't beat the 1 yr return policy from rei, if you are not satisfied.
The importance of doing your own research is a great point. We're happy to get folks started, but always make sure it's the best e-bike FOR YOU. We hope the reviews help though!
There is no best electric ebike out there. They all have great features and the best ebike for anyone is the one you ride and love and paid for. There just so many different styles and power and models no one can say they're is the best. I get excited at every ebike I see because they are just fun and beautiful to ride. Enjoy your ebike and enjoy life.
I rode the Diamondback Union 2 for 30 miles, about 10 mi of rough bumpy steep twisty hills on dry pavement. Great bike. Smooth ride. The review is accurate. It is quick to launch and it tracks really well in tight cornering.
@@nelsonarmor thank you Nelson I am looking for a long lasting traveling the bike as I am also attaching a lightweight bicycle camper trailer. Several models could be found under the bicycle search engines and do it yourself CZcams videos FYI
@@franksplace551 I specified the 500 watt-hour battery over the 400wh. Glad I did. I like the tour and turbo torque modes for an occasional fun blast uphill and the 500wh lasts longer on a charge. Also, I like the stock tires. I found it to be a surprisingly easy roller without motor assist on a level road. The eco mode will sip power and help tow the trailer up hill.
So you guys do not consider European or Asian brands of bikes? Too bad, you are missing a lot of great bikes in all categories save Fat Bikes, and some that would definitely top some of your categories, particularly for commuter, utility and mountain bikes. In fact, it was European brands that really pioneered these categories and have some of the best-engineered frames and drivetrains. That you do not feature a single bike with a Bosch drive is really surprising.
I really want the RadCity 5 Plus! I had it in the cart, kitted with the child seat and accessories but my lady says that we have to go look at local shops first. They had better have something that looks better because I'm pretty set on it.
@@smileychess At the time I commented I ended up going to a local shop and buying an Aventon Level. Class 2 and 3 capable when unlocked. I have had it one year and just recently reached 5,700 miles on the odometer. I don't drive a car very much anymore and I'm going to keep commuting with the bike so the mileage will only go up. I replaced tires and brake pads, I do all servicing myself and there has not been any breakdowns. I couldn't be more pleased with it. I'm currently looking at E-trikes for my girlfriend since she's not comfortable on two wheels.
I think you all did a great job with all your picks , and I believe that Aventon is comprable within the same area quality, price point, quality of company. Definitely very good choices.
A Honda Ruckus gets 114 MPG, they last forever, and to be honest as much as I want an electric ebike - seems they can't beat a Honda Ruckus for the price!
i think the ariel rider kepler is best fat tire bike hands down. aventon is 1999. no rear brake/turn/running lights, bell 750w ,85nm motor 48v,14ah,720bwh battery TS 28mph range 45+, now kepler 1000w, 110nm motor 52,20ah,1040bwh battery. TS 36mph range 75+. you should try them out.its a BEAST
@Yosef Binyamin ITS WELL WORTH THE WAIT AND it only took 5wks. but it did have quirks to work out plus CS is poor. but other than that this thing is like fast and agile for its size, and very strong, first bike i feel comfortable on in boston traffic at my size.
Outside of perhaps the Jeep, they all had fairly good range for their price point / style of bike. Anything else we should consider the next time we update this though?
Thanks for your informative video and I totally agree that Aventon produces a good e-bike at their price-point. Unfortunately Aventon has a history of poor customer service and many prior-owners have indicated online that Aventon will not honor their warranty. Additionally Aventon has minimal required parts in stock such as their specific replacement battery or proprietary controller and without these necessary parts, your e-bike will become a boat anker. If a consumer is willing to drop over $2100 on an Aventon and is willing to chance that their e-bike will come perfect and never breakdown, then Aventon is their choice. Unfortunately ALL e-bikes will have mechanical and electrical issues and if a company is unwilling to stand behind their product, then the consumer should seek an alternative e-bike selection. In my honest opinion, Rad currently has the best overall product. Although Rad isn't the fastest nor the coolest looking e-bike, Rad does produce a great product, at a fair price point and their customer service and warranty are excellent. Good Luck on your selection.
I would agree with you for the beginning of 2021 when it came out and they were not prepared for the explosion of sales on this model but there service has been corrected and as for backing there product I had a issue with my break lever and they had me a new part within 9 days. Not disagreeing with you just implying that it has gotten way better. Also hands down the best fat bike out there. Himingway and Rad just doesn't compare.
As soon as I decided to buy an e-bike this spring, I learned the same thing. There are many negative CS comments right there on Aventon's website. Points to them for not editing or removing the negative reviews, though.
@@charlienyc1 Or possibly they had so many negative reviews that they figured that they had to leave several negative reviews to keep it somewhat legit.
I'm keeping my Rad until bikes start using the newly invented motor-transmission drive from France. Breakthrough technology. No more derailleurs, no more shifting, and more power.
Check out the battery fuse situation on the Rad city 5, the design there is one frog hair short of a disaster - if the fuses blow, the battery pack is toast.
Cab Eagle best bike ever. Made in California by Cab Moterworks. Hands down a unbelievable company, outstanding bike. And great support. Not cheap. But awesome.
Great video! I want to travel across Japan with my son on e-bikes. Any advice about what sort of model/brand I should buy? We aren't planning on going off-road.
You guys need to check out the asomtom q7. It’s the best looking fat tire bike that handles really well for all terrain riding. It’s 750w 7 speed transmission system. I’m really impressed with this bike and get a lot of head turns when riding it
Static presentation supplemented by hand movements and shots of not talking to camera. I would have liked to see a reviewer showing viewers around a bike ie interacting with it and being mobile, as you might in a bike shop. Your selection ensured that most people could be excited by at least one e-bike. Maybe you could add a favourite conversion kit for pedal-only bikes. It might help get more people riding, although I'd hesitate to call it cycling!
Need an e-bike with mid motor, AWD, peak out at 2000, good for 250-300 pound guy, easy ride for high hills, easy to get on and off. Which e-bikes would you suggest? Thanks
No mention of Himiway bikes , I have a cruiser which I'm very happy with. I get right at 30 miles on it at 27 miles an hour throttle only with over 3000 miles and it's never failed me . Guess this review is only American ebikes.
Electric Bike Pros: 1. Help you escape a bear chase 2. Go uphill--when your weak legs don't have the strength 3. You don't have to peddle 4. Fast for couple of hours---you smile when you beat a roadie Cons: 1. You work those weak legs when you out of juice 2. A little on the heavy side 3. A little on the pricy side---almost more than a good bike 4. Long wait for the full charge up or spend $$$ on extra batteries
Don't forget to test the AmpRide Volt fatbike. I just got the 90 nm version. A $3000 bike for $2000 from AmpRide. If you have the patience to wait on the shipping. LOL No payment until its on the truck to your house.
Great video, thanks. If one were interested in what the Jeep eBike offers, is there anything like it that might be more toward 4K pricing? Do they have no competition in that arena that is more affordable?
Bless you . We need Charging stations as the same one for E.Cars every where . For ex : Public Libraries , Schools , Restaurants , parks , Shopping Centers . . . Etc . All the world ?
I'm a bit limited living in a town of 9000 in Costa Rica. A place sells E=scooters wit 800 watt mid mount motors to rear wheel via chain. My biggest concern being steep hills, 30 to 35% I weigh 180. And it has pedals but not like a bicycle. Think I should pedal uphill? I am 74 but healthy and more fit than most 35 year old men. I ride mountain bikes but over the last 2 or 3 years the steeper hills too much and find it better to walk. Just don't want to burn out the motor putting it under too much strain.

It's not a good rundown of ebikes when you don't even have the ariel x52v in there.
I totally agree. I plan on using it for my business so I need reliability , get the job done.
Have you found any videos or articles ?
Agree - feedback on color choices or paint job isn’t the kind of info I’m seeking.
Something on how long a battery lasts, how quickly it charges, dependability, reliability and customer service…. Way more important.
Too many ads and no mention of price....I clicked off ! Bye 🖐
Replacement batteries? Price?
Keep in mind people will start using bikes for business rather than sheer leisure.
They pretty much just read the label and know nothing about bikes.
Ehats the too speed? How long does the battery last? And how much is it?
@@johnesparza9149 This bike will do 28 MPH with the pedal assist. My bike shop owner said that I should be able to get around 12,000 miles on the battery. When I bought it I paid 2,400 dollars for it. Not bad when you consider the battery is 900 and charger about 350.
@@rickmave7607 thats not bad at all, thanks for the reply. But about how many miles does one charge last for?

My wife and I both have LECTRIC XP 2.0 step thru bikes. We love them. We are not off road riders. We cruise the neighborhood, parks beaches and campgrounds. Best value for the money, at $999 each (includes shipping) if you ask me.
Definitely a good value pick.
Once I'm able too, pretty sure the Lectric XP 2.0 will be the one I get. For 1 grand it seems to be the best for that price, plus it's foldable.
I bought a Rattan LM-750 a couple of years ago for 1,199. foldable 750W 48V 13A
You can't beat Chinese bikes for value for money.
Just did 25 miles on a Specialized Como. Absolutely brutalized my entire body. No shocks!
Love my Fat Tire Rad Rover, it's been a great bike for the money as well...I paid 1500.00 six years ago and is still running great....I recommend the Rad Rover Fat Tire Bike if cost is a concerned. Now they are around 1900.00
Don't forget to mention that the Lectric 2.0 can operate up to 28 mph with a few button pushes that create a class 3 and for about $1000.
That is insane!
So can the aventon pace 500 with better battery
@@valvaz159 for about double the price…
It really would have been helpful to know the prices on these bikes.
Listed in the description so you can navigate to current pricing. We'll do better about setting ballparks in the future though.

Hey Captain, theres a really cool nes Invention called GOOGLE
Stop being lazy and do your own research
When purchasing an ebike, should we take into account repair shops in your area? If Trek is sold in your town, but RAD isn’t, should you go with Trek? Or are these bikes pretty easy for any mechanic to handle? Just thinking of cars as an example, I wouldn’t buy a Tesla because we have no repair shops anywhere near me. Any thoughts?
You've already answered your question
Tesla mechanics will come to you
In general, yes.
@@ElectricBikeReport Thanks for the helpful response

I recently got an Electric Bike Company model Y and I am so impressed with the quality. I just love my bike! Too bad PA weather put my riding on hold until Spring.
It's a fun bike for sure! We enjoyed the one we reviewed. Bike riding weather is just around the corner - hang tight :)

They didn't miss it. Trikes were simply not the focus of the video.

Hopefully this helps! We'll need to update and do a video soon.
Belt drive has no power. Rear hub gives you a solid takeoff.
Run thru Abus or kryptonite u lock
I will add that the customer service at Blix is over the top! Terrific company. I have last years Aveny model. Just fantastic on all levels. 💕
i think that could be usefull if you could add a comparative table of features, technical info (motor power, battery capacity,, speeds, etc) and if possible prices aswell.
850 in a year? You should have done that in two months. Get riding!
I agree that 2 motors makes all the difference.
As a broke student who needs transport, this video was very helpful! Thanks!
I'd like to top speeds and battery life/distance per battery listed somewhere to read through and conpare
A lot has changed between City 1 and City 5. But we get that a bad experience can cause you to sour towards them.
Rad city it's best
Lectric 2.0 is the best electric bike, got mine Tuesday, got to take to my bike shop to have check out, love this ebike
Right on!
What do you guys think of Urtopia???
Seems interesting - would love to test one out.
I also find it so curious that some ebikes are 1500-2000$ and 4000-6000$. Frankly makes me nervous about the quality of the lesser-priced rides, i.e., WHY such a price difference in something that has relatively few "parts".
The prices are disgusting. You can buy a moped for what they want. It's insanity
Thanks!
I believe the Evelo Galaxy 500 uses a belt drive as do Evelo's other ebikes.
I really like the Priority Ebike.
@@stevyd Thanks. I just looked at the article and saw the Evelo, which I don't think is in the video. Still find the overall exclusion of belt drive bikes from their list a bit odd. but that's just my opinion/experience.
@@prime8nate Me too. I have a Current.
Not correct. There is at least one bike on the list with a belt drive. It's the Cero One. Did you look at the entire list? It has more bikes than were shown on the video. There are more categories too.
I hadn’t watched this video yet, but ordered the Vado 5.0 IGH yesterday. Glad you chose the Vado 4.0 as mine will be just a step up. Can’t wait.

I'm 71 and a lifelong bicycle rider including 10's of thousands of miles touring both on and off-road and these E-bikes are interesting, but as long as I'm capable of peddling myself, I'll stay old school, self propelled. Staying fit is important to me at this time of my life.
When you do go e-bike, make sure you get one that includes a little to no assist range, that should keep you in shape.
I generally don't leave comments but I have to say I don't understand where people get the whole thing that E bikes can't give you exercise. Put the assist level on one leave the bike in the hardest gear and there you go it's that easy.
Staying fit is important but bicycling wouldn't be the way I'd stay fit. If I wanted toned legs and that's it sure.
Check out Bakcou they are the best
Maybe consider the cargo bikes, so you can also haul out your kill.
Check out Ariel Rider, their D-Class/Grizzly dual motor bikes would work well for your needs.

Good review overall but would've been nice to know how fast all these bikes go
Wow, great videos.

I rode the Diamondback Union 2 for 30 miles, about 10 mi of rough bumpy steep twisty hills on dry pavement. Great bike. Smooth ride. The review is accurate. It is quick to launch and it tracks really well in tight cornering.
The Union 2 is a great ride for sure.

The EBC bike is gorgeous, but equipped as shown is $4k. That’s a lot of cash for the ability to choose your preferred color theme.
Where was this filmed? Like what's the trail you are on. Cheers!
I really want the RadCity 5 Plus! I had it in the cart, kitted with the child seat and accessories but my lady says that we have to go look at local shops first. They had better have something that looks better because I'm pretty set on it.
I couldn't find a local shop that sells Class 2 bikes, so I could only find pedal-assist only bikes for like $3,800.
I'm currently looking at E-trikes for my girlfriend since she's not comfortable on two wheels.

i think the ariel rider kepler is best fat tire bike hands down. aventon is 1999. no rear brake/turn/running lights, bell 750w ,85nm motor 48v,14ah,720bwh battery TS 28mph range 45+, now kepler 1000w, 110nm motor 52,20ah,1040bwh battery. TS 36mph range 75+. you should try them out.its a BEAST
KEPLER is 1799 plus has a rear rack too. HUGE
@Yosef Binyamin ITS WELL WORTH THE WAIT AND it only took 5wks. but it did have quirks to work out plus CS is poor. but other than that this thing is like fast and agile for its size, and very strong, first bike i feel comfortable on in boston traffic at my size.
I guess range plays no part of the selection criteria
Outside of perhaps the Jeep, they all had fairly good range for their price point / style of bike. Anything else we should consider the next time we update this though?
Thank you for these informative videos. What bike do you recommend for Uber Eats?

Electric Bike
Pros:
1. Help you escape a bear chase
2. Go uphill--when your weak legs don't have the strength
3. You don't have to peddle
4. Fast for couple of hours---you smile when you beat a roadie
Cons:
1. You work those weak legs when you out of juice
2. A little on the heavy side
3. A little on the pricy side---almost more than a good bike

Nice video and informative. do you have the prices of all those bikes?
Yes we do in the video description there is a link to each bike.
What is your opinion on some of the Magnum Electric Bikes?
Seem solid from the two we spent a little hands on time with, but we need to do a full in-depth review before we can really weigh in on them.
Great list fellas, well done!
Thank you kindly!
