i needed an elite controller of xbox for xbox 360 to play armored core 4 and V, because in 4 i were using like 8 fingers to move my mech, i find a way after playing VD to match something more confortable, to put the attack buttons on the triggers instead the X and A buttons, and it were way better, but still need those back buttons to move me better with my mech.

Google diago's banned hitbox and look for this black one with a single gold button, The thing looks so DIY and honestly hilarious cursed controller material compared to this clean looking "Legal Ken" model. That scuffed thing was enough to get Capcom to add an entire new ruleset to tournament play. I might not be remembering it right but I'm pretty sure he even mentioned that it was intentional to attract attention for the Capcom cup to add new rules.

So human error is involved and the possibility of not pressing buttons correctly simultaneously when in battle is always present. Even with pros like Daigo it happens. Removing that error possibility by turning two buttons into one is definitely advantageous. Especially when the hit boxes also remove the diagonals. That's even more of an advantage. So let's say if Daigo's failure rate on executing moves is less than 10% well the now his hitbox drops in half if not altogether. Hitboxes for a player like me mean nothing cause I'm not that good.
