Bruh! 😅.. So good! I have a 2011 Power Wagon with a 5.7 I gotta do the water pump on! I wasn't looking forward to it AT ALL, until I watched this! The step by step was great! Great camera shots and the hilarity was fantastic! Much thanks!
This video helped a ton! Got it done on a 2013 Ram 1500. One note, I almost made a bad mistake! The bracket that needs to be removed has a nut on the outside, THEN after removing the bracket there is another nut to remove the bolt. I didn’t realize this and began prying on the pump and probably almost snapped it.
I just completed my water pump install and have to say this was the best video I came across on CZcams.Thank you, thank you!
Child proof connector...LMFAO!!!!
I’m not a mechanic at all. The one hidden bolt got me. I would have just gave up but when you said just count to 12 gave me just what I needed. Thanks great video.
I almost made a mistake bc I didn’t realize there was another nut behind the bracket nut holding the bolt in. Starting keying hard on the pump, lucky it didn’t snap.
I appreciate your attention to details in your videos. Great Job!
Thank you.
I love the realistic commentary! 😂
Great video!!! You can also take the fan shroud off with the electric fan at the same time. Before taking the fan clutch off. That way you’re not at risk of breaking the fan shroud
Thanks for the old man conversion table. Just started working on this new stuff. I need to get more metric tools
I really appreciate you making this video. It helped a ton!
I’ll be tackling this this weekend I think. Pump’s been leaking for a while and it’s just getting worse. Time to stop procrastinating and get r done I guess haha.
Thank you for a very good and straightforward video
Oh man haven’t watched one of your videos in a while. Great mechanic. Your biggest fan from Canada. You may not remember but I pride myself in making you laugh in some of your live videos.
Good on you. I stopped doing live videos, because people.
Thank you for this video. This helped me decide to do the job myself.
Entertaining vid. Just order my pump and thermostat and looking forward to the repair.
fantastic video.. it's exactly what I was needing.
Perfect video! Followed along on my 2015 Ram.
Thanks for the vid. I get to do this job on mine now.
Thank you so much! This Video made it easy.
Thanks for all your vids! Love the quality work and commentary! Keep up the great work I learn something from every video.
Needed this video..changing mine this week..will let you know how it went
I love your videos! You are too funny!
Thanks! I hope it does something for someone.
@@RustBeltAuto YES IT DOES, SIR, YES IT DOES.
What an outstanding video. In fact, it is stellar !!!! I have GOT THIS !
That was a VERY amazing adventure!
I finally did the wheel bearings in my '97 Maxima.... That was fun.... 😒
Too bad you aren't closer to me, we could go on a fun adventure together called replacing the valve cover gaskets next!
OKAY BYE!
I have a tool for that.
Thank you! This was incredibly helpful, and good for a few laughs. My favorite is "guess where from...". I'm jealous of how easy it was for you to loosen the fan clutch nut. After way-too-much trial and error, I ended up using a torch and an air hammer to free the *$&%&@ thing up.
😂
Soild video dude love the Canadian accent
I would have done the v6 fan mod while you had it apart. It helps with water pump longevity too.
Great video
great video
Excellent video. Only issue I had was with the FAN REMOVAL. I ended up using a visegrip on the edges of the pully and an adjustable 1-1/2 wrench. I didn't need a hammer. And used this method to snug it up too.
After battling other methods for an hour, the vise grips hack save me! Took 1 minute
Ya this worked for me too. Thanks
I finally read the comments after 3hrs ,small c clamp vice grip 5 minutes fan removed. 😢 damn
Same! Vice grips, long adjustable wrench with a pipe over it for extension.
@@aarony8534 exactly what I did
The commentary is excellent lol
He kind of talks like Jesse Ventura. It’s pretty quite hilarious. A good video.
Good vid
Dude sounds like the old school wrestler Jesse “the body” Ventura.
My Governor.
My system just started leaking coolant on 2013 Ram 5.7. I was told there had been stop leak used previously when I wanted the system flushed. Lots of fluid near water pump area. Deciding whether to tackle it myself.
Replace hoses while I’m at it?
I don't replace hoses, unless they are bulging, or squishy from contaminents, or feel them cracking when I squeeze them..
@@RustBeltAuto thanks. Just decided to go ahead and swap them out while I’m at it. Going to use a flush several times before changing out to try and get the built up gunk out of there.
2010 ram 5.7 110,000 miles. I have a “knock” from front of engine that sounds like lifters(or bag of marbles). The knock gets louder as my engine warms. After removing my serpentine belt and starting engine the knock disappears. My water pump pulley has a slight bit of play but its not leaking or overheating. Do u know the best way I could eliminate all the other pulleys to be 100% certain it’s my water pump making the noise? I just want to make sure I get rid of the noise without throwing parts at it. Thank you for the excellent video.
Get a wood dowel, touch it on your moving parts, and put the other end against your ear like a stethoscope. You should hear it.
Thank you sir, for sharing your knowledge. Appreciate ya!
My dad truck isn't leaking UT everything is loose and has play. Is it the water pump? He plans on replacing the clutch fan as well
I don't believe it would be, unless it is really low on coolant.
Hey I have a question. Do any of the bolts require sealant?
My sources say no.
I like your funny words magic man
are you able to put that beast on the lift or does it weight to much?
I can.
thanks!!!
Read the comments on fan removal
At 6:34 the black pipe that leads off of the pump itself, does anyone know if that by itself can be purchased? That’s what is leaking on mine with a pinhole type of hole.
Maybe call the dealer. Probably cost as much at a parts store to buy the whole pump. I don't think a regular parts store will carry that by its self. I could be wrong though.

What’s the book labor time on this job ?
I don't know.
This guy is too funny
how long is your wrench
That's a strange question.
Mine just went out, had to pay $440 parts and labor. I think I got a good deal this seems like a good amount of labor
Should let your husband do it then
When replacing the A/F make sure you buy OAT organic acid technology and the 2022 and up has switched to hoat hybrid organic about tech and don’t mix with regular af cause it turns into a gel and clogs the radiator
Agreed. I do not put conventional coolant in anything. It is pretty much obsolete. Mixing OAT with HOAT is a goofy subject, and currently don't know what to believe, because people don't know what they are doing. Some say they can be mixed, and some say no.
Well that made my day! Thank you sir. Great video, simple and direct without a lot of actor showmanship. Job well done! 🫡
I didn’t know you could stick a hole. You can “STICK” hole?
I think you have a fascination with sticks, and holes.
@@RustBeltAuto Rust.
@@mediaguy4037 sticky rust hole?
Vice grips
I gave up, I broke the fanshroud and can't get the dang fa off
👍🏾😁🤳👉🍺
NO CHROME IN THIS VID. ?
Mmmmmm... Chrome...

I was going to ask you how that thing got so rusty being only 10 years old then I saw the name of the channel. Lol.
And every shop wants $800 to $1100 for a 3 hour job.
Bout to pay $1400 😅
Nice one!
